A documental assessment of the Journal of Northwest University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition) from 2000 to 2005

Abstract:This article is a documental assessment of the Journal of Northwest University(Philosophy and social sciences edition) 2000-2005.The results were based on the researches of articles,authors,quotations and references used in the way of statistics and analysis.The contents of the analysis are articles,authors,quotations and references.The results revealed that the total amount of the articles is 914,including 24.12% sponsored articles.The number of authors is 1 340(564 come from Northwest University and 377 from outside).238 chief writers are professors(25.29%),332 are associate professors(35.28%).409 of the authors have Master′s degree(43.46%).The Total references including 6789 books or thesis,the Chinese references are 6335(93.31%),English 378(5.57%).The book: 3805(56.05%),the magazines: 1893(27.88%).According to the analysis,from the year 2003 to 2004,44% reference magazines belong to economics and management.The conclusion is that: the quality of the articles is gradually getting better,a group of celebrated scholars has become regular authors,and the feature of the Western Economy is getting more obvious and significant.
