Thoughts on the Disciplinary Status of Library Science and Information Science:Empirical Analysis Based on CSSCI

Abstract:Applying CSSCI as a base,this paper analyzes the research character of library science and information science,and points out the problems concerning each;namely,poor citation of documents,a lower proportion of foreign documents being cited,a lack of inter-organizational and interregional cooperation,a lack of theoretical research positive results.In order to promote the disciplinary status of library science and information science,the author points out that we must attach importance to theoretical research and innovation,improve the quality of academic research in papers,enhance social impact by promoting excellent studies,facilitate interdisciplinary cooperation and expand fields where research achievements can be applied.
