Abstract:Two new migrated hopane triterpenoids, viz. 4alpha-hydroxyfilican-3-one and fern-9(11)-en-12beta-ol, and olean-18-en-3-one and olean-12-en-3-one as the first example of oleanane compounds from Adiantum ferns were isolated along with many other known triterpenoids from Adiantum capillus-veneris of China and Egypt. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses.

Abstract:Three triterpenoids, 8α-hydroxyfernan-25,7β-olide, 3α-hydroxy-4α-methoxyfilicane and 19α-hydroxyferna-7,9(11)-diene were isolated from the fresh fronds of Adiantum caudatum. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic techniques. Thirteen known triterpenoids were also identified from this fern.

Abstract:A new eremophilane sesquiterpene, capnodiumone (1), along with five known eremophilane sesquiterpenes (2-6) and eight other compounds (7-14), have been isolated from a mangrove-associated fungus Capnodium sp. SZ-F22. The chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis. The broth extract of the fungus exhibited a good inhibitory effect on the mycelium growth against Fusarium graminearum at 100g/mL, however, all the 14 compounds showed no expected antifungal activity. The probable reasons were discussed. [GRAPHICS] .

Abstract:Two new ent-kaurane-type diterpenoids, E-semiaquilegin (1) and Z -semiaquilegin (2), together with eight known compounds (3-10) were isolated from the dried roots of Semiaquilegia adoxoides (DC.) Makino. The structures of compounds 1 and 2 were elucidated mainly by 2D NMR techniques including H-1-H-1 COSY, HSQC, HMBC, NOESY as 16 alpha-hydroxy- ent -kaurane-17,20-di-(3,4-dihydroxy-E-cinnamoyl) ester and its ( Z )-isomer.

Abstract:Two diterpenoids and a few miscellaneous components (one phenethylpropanoid, one flavonoid, and one lignan) were isolated from the MeOH extract of the whole plant of the rare Chloranthaceae plant Chloranthus sessilifolius during a further phytochemical reinvestigation. Based on their spectroscopic data (i.e., IR, UV, 1D/2D NMR, ECD, and HR-ESIMS) and/or comparing with those reported physicochemical data in related literature, the structures were determined to be (3R,5S,6S,95,10S,135)-3,6,13-trihydroxy-ent-abieta-8(14)-en-7-one (1), 3 alpha,15-dihydroxy-13 alpha-methoxy-ent-abieta-8(14)-en-7-one (2), p-coumaroyl-beta-phenethyl amine (3), narigenin trimethyl ether (4), and (3R,4-R,3'R,4'R)-6,6'-dimethoxy-3,4,3',4'-tetrahydro-2H,2H'[3,3]-bichromenyl-4,4'-diol (5). Among them, compound 1 is new, while compounds 3 similar to 5 were isolated from the Chloranthus genus for the first time.
