Abstract:AbstractVarious substrates are successfully transformed to pyrrole structures in the presence of catalytic Mn(O‐Ac)3.Ketoacid (XII), which is able to generate a primary α‐carbonyl radical, requires equimolar Mn(III) and affords only a low amount of product, which is not essentially increased in the presence of Mn (2‐picolinate)3.
