Abstract:The dominant theoretical uncertainties in both the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon and the value of the electromagnetic coupling at the Z scale, M(Z), arise from their hadronic contributions. Since these will ultimately dominate the experimental errors, we study the correlation between them, as well as with other fundamental parameters. To this end we present analytical formulas for the QCD contribution from higher energies and from heavy quarks. Including these correlations affects the Higgs boson mass extracted from precision data.

Abstract:We compute the complete set of Higgs-mediated chargino-neutralino two-loop contributions to the electric dipole moments of the electron and neutron in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM). We study the dependence of these contributions on the parameters that govern CP-violation in the MSSM gauge-gaugino-Higgs-Higgsino sector. We find that contributions mediated by the exchange of WH +/- and ZA(0) pairs, where H-+/- and A(0) are the charged and CP-odd Higgs scalars, respectively, are comparable to or dominate over those mediated by the exchange of neutral gauge bosons and CP-even Higgs scalars. We also emphasize that the result of this complete set of diagrams is essential for the full quantitative study of a number of phenomenological issues, such as electric dipole moment searches and their implications for electroweak baryogenesis.

Abstract:We present the analytical results for the anomalous chromomagnetic moment of a quark at the one-loop and two-loop levels through model-independent parameterizations, considering the external gluon to be off-shell. Then, we consider different types of two-Higgs doublet models with the momentum transfer of the external gluon, $q^2 = \pm M_Z^2$, and $0$, for the numerical evaluations thereof for the top quark. We find that the contributions in the two-Higgs-doublet models are on the order of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-3})$ at the one-loop level and $\mathcal{O}(10^{-4})$ at the two-loop level, where the one-loop and two-loop contributions interfere destructively, resulting in the overall contributions being on the order of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-3})$ with a positive sign.

Abstract:The leading contribution to the electric and the chromoelectric dipole moments of the top quark is calculated in Higgs-boson-exchange models of CP nonconservation. The dipole moments are typically of the order of 10(-20) e cm and 10(-20) g cm, respectively, and arise at one-loop order through neutral-Higgs-boson exchange. Several two-loop contributions are estimated to be smaller by about 2 orders of magnitude for the electric case and about 1 order of magnitude smaller for the chromoelectric case. The q2 dependence of the dipole moment form factor is given for possible application to experimental searches.

Abstract:We perform a study on the predictions of electric-dipole moments of neutron, Mercury (Hg), Thallium (Tl), deuteron, and Radium (Ra) in the framework of next-to-minimal supersymmetric standard model with $CP$-violating parameters in the superpotential and soft-supersymmetry-breaking sector. We confine to the case in which only the physical tree-level $CP$ phase (${\ensuremath{\phi}}_{\ensuremath{\lambda}}^{\ensuremath{'}}\ensuremath{-}{\ensuremath{\phi}}_{\ensuremath{\kappa}}^{\ensuremath{'}}$), associated with the couplings of the singlet terms in the superpotential and with the vacuum-expectation-values, takes on a nonzero value. We found that the one-loop contributions from neutralinos are mostly small while the two-loop Higgs-mediated contributions of the Barr-Zee type diagrams dominate. We emphasize a scenario motivated by electroweak baryogenesis.

Abstract:We present the first complete two-loop calculation of the electric dipole moment of the electron, as well as the rates of the lepton-flavor violating decays $\mu \to e + \gamma$ and $\tau \to e/\mu + \gamma$, in the unconstrained two-Higgs doublet model. We include the most generic Yukawa interactions of the Higgs doublets with the Standard Model fermions up to quadratic order, and allow for generic phases in the Higgs potential.

Abstract:A phenomenological Dyson-Schwinger equation approach to QCD, formalized in terms of a QCD-based model field theory, is used to calculate the electromagnetic charge radius of the pion. The contributions from the core of dressed quarks and the pion loop are identified and compared. It is shown explicitly that the divergence of the charge radius in the chiral limit is due to the pion loop but that at mπ=0.14 GeV this loop contributes less than 15% to [Formula: see text], i.e. the dressed quark core is the dominant determining characteristic for the pion.

Abstract:Recent progresses in the measurements of the electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron using the paramagnetic atom or molecule are remarkable. In this paper, we calculate a contribution to the electron EDM at three-loop level, introducing the CP-violating Yukawa couplings of new SU(2)$_L$ multiplets. At two-loop level, the Yukawa interactions generate a CP-violating dimension-six operator, composed of three SU(2)$_L$ field strengths, called the electroweak Weinberg operator. Another one-loop diagram with the operator inserted induces the electron EDM. We find that even if new SU(2)$_L$ particles have masses around TeV-scale, the electron EDM may be larger than the Standard Model contribution to the paramagnetic atom or molecule EDMs. We also discuss the relation between the Barr-Zee diagram contribution at two-loop level and the three-loop one, assuming that the SM Higgs has new Yukawa interactions with the SU(2)$_L$ multiplets.

Abstract:In the context of supersymmetry, the two-loop Barr-Zee diagrams which induce CP-violating electric dipole moment of electron due to superpartners simultaneously yield CP-conserving magnetic dipole moment of muon. In this paper, we derive the coherence between the electric and magnetic dipole moments at two-loop level due to stops, charginos or neutralinos-charginos. We also use the coherence to constrain superpartner masses and their CP-violating phases, in the light of recent ACME limit on the electric dipole moment of electron and future experiments about magnetic dipole moment of muon such as Fermilab E989 experiment.

Abstract:In this paper we study the strange quark contribution to the neutron electric dipole moment and compare with other contributions in multi-Higgs doublet models. We find that the strange quark contribution is significant because the strange quark color dipole moment is larger than that of the down (up) quark by a factor m(s)/m(d) (m(s)/m(u)). In the case of neutral Higgs it can be the dominant contribution to the neutron electric dipole moment.

It is found that the leading Barr-Zee type two-loop contribution is smaller than the result found in previous works, and that EDM experimental data provide looser limits on RPV couplings.

Abstract:We study the viability of electroweak baryogenesis in a two Higgs doublet model scenario augmented by vector-like, electroweakly interacting fermions. Considering a limited, but illustrative region of the model parameter space, we obtain the observed cosmic baryon asymmetry while satisfying present constraints from the non-observation of the permanent electric dipole moment (EDM) of the electron and the combined ATLAS and CMS result for the Higgs boson diphoton decay rate. The observation of a non-zero electron EDM in a next generation experiment and/or the observation of an excess (over the Standard Model) of Higgs to diphoton events with the 14 TeV LHC run or a future e + e − collider would be consistent with generation of the observed baryon asymmetry in this scenario.

Abstract:Extending BLMSSM with exotic Higgs superfields $(\Phi_{NL},\varphi_{NL})$ and superfields ($Y,Y^\prime$), one obtains the new model called as EBLMSSM, where exotic leptons are heavy and have tree level couplings with SM lepton. In this model, some new parameters with CP-violating phases are considered, so there are new contributions to lepton anomalous magnetic dipole moments (MDMs) and electric dipole moments (EDMs). Therefore, we study the one-loop, two-loop Barr-Zee and two-loop Rainbow type corrections to lepton MDMs and EDMs in the EBLMSSM. Considering the constraints from the lightest CP-even Higgs mass and decays, we calculate the corresponding numerical results. In our used parameter space, the new physics contributions to lepton MDMs are large, which can remedy the deviation between the SM prediction and experimental result well. New introduced CP-violating phases also affect the lepton EDMs in a certain degree.

Abstract:In the CP-violating minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model (MSSM), we study the two-loop diagrams without the one-loop self-energy, and they are composed of virtual neutralino–slepton-Z. We obtain electroweak corrections to the anomalous magnetic dipole moment (MDM) of muon. With electromagnetic gauge invariance, the Wilson coefficients of dimension-5 operators contributing to the MDM of muon are deduced. To remove the ultra-violet divergences induced by the divergent sub-diagrams, we use the on-shell scheme. The numerical results are about 8.8×10-11, i.e. at the same order of present experimental precision, which indicates these two-loop diagrams are important.
A Novel Model of Charged Leptons

Abstract:A novel model of charged leptons is presented, which contains two basics hypotheses. The first hypothesis is that the Yukawa coupling between Higgs field and charged leptons is the weak interaction, the Higgs field is a scalar intermediate boson which changes the chirality of charged leptons in the weak interaction. The other hypothesis is that the flavor eigenstates of charged leptons are the superposition states of left-handed and right-handed elementary Weyl spinors before the electroweak symmetry breaking. According to this model, the Yukawa coupling constants between Higgs field and three generations of charged leptons are considered to be a universal constant, and the difference of the masses of different charged leptons is due to the different left-right mixing angles of their flavor eigenstates.

Abstract:We compute the light axial-vector and tensor meson two-photon transition form factors in the soft-wall holographic model of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) in the flavor-symmetric case. They are used to evaluate the axial-vector and tensor meson contributions to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon via the hadronic light-by-light scattering process. As expected, these contributions are smaller than the one from pseudoscalar mesons. Abstract:Axions and axion-like particles emerge in many models for physics beyond the Standard Model. Thus, they have gained increasing research interest in both experimental and theoretical physics apart from their original proposition as a solution to the strong $CP$-problem. Among other aspects it has recently been shown that ALPs can potentially provide a solution to the long-lasting discrepancy between theory and experiment of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Provided that the ALP has flavor-violating couplings to leptons, they can also mediate flavor-violating decays like $\mu\to e\gamma$. Both processes are mediated through related form factors that we compute to two-loop order. We further show numerical implications of our calculations and how they might affect constraints on ALP couplings derived from experiments.
