Abstract:An efficient synthesis of novel phenoxyimine ligands containing a difluorovinylbiphenyl group was based on the Suzuki coupling coupling of 4-bromo-2,6-difluoroaniline with 4-styrylboronic acid followed by a condensation reaction with various arylaldehydes. The structures were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR spectra and HRMS. The advantages of this synthetic route were its simple operation, mild reaction conditions and good yields.

Abstract:A novel method for the synthesis of benzofuran analogues via condensation of 2-hydroxybenzaldehyde or 2-hydroxyphenyl ketone with methyl 4-bromocrotonate was reported. Moderate to good yield was obtained with cesium carbonate as base in DMF at 70 degrees C. The new-generated double bond was (E)-configuration determined by X-ray diffraction. All benzofuran derivatives were determined by H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and HRMS techniques.

Abstract:2-Trifluoromethyl and 2-difluoromethyl substituted benzimidazole, benzoxazole and benzothiazole derivatives were efficiently prepared through a one-pot reaction of trifluoroacetic acid and difluoroacetic acid, respectively, with commercially available o-phenylenediamines, 2-aminophenols, and 2-aminobenzenethiols in good to excellent yields. Subsequential bromination of 2-difluoromethyl groups by photolysis with NBS led to the formation of bromodifluoromethyl benzo-1,3-diazoles which may be utilized to prepare the new generation of gem-difluoromethylene linked identical or non-identical twin molecules for drug synthesis.

Abstract:Benzofuran liquid crystals were synthesized in the base of alkylphenels by formylating ehloroform. The intermediate compound which called substitute salicylic aldehyde would be produced. In this way, substitute benzofuran could be obtained. Thereby a series of benzofuran liquid crystals would be synthesized. The structures of liquid crystal compounds were confirmed by H~1 NMR and MS,the phase transition temperature was measured by DSC.Transition temperatures are T_(mp)=83.66℃)T_(cp)=145.42 ℃.

Abstract:Benzodifurazan reacts with 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethylhydantoin in sulfuric acid to form 5-bromo-4,5-dihydrobenzo[1,2- c :3,4- c ']bis([1,2,5]oxadiazol)-4-ol ( A ). The structure of the product was established by X-ray diffraction analysis. It was found that compound A exhibits properties of epoxides: it readily takes up nucleophiles to form alcohols, whose reaction with p -toluenesulfonyl chloride in the presence of tetrabutylammonium bromide and sodium hydroxide in benzene gives functional derivatives of benzodifurazan. On treatment with a base [Ca(OH) 2 ], compound A converts to 1a,7b-dihydrooxireno[2',3':5,6]benzo[1,2- c :3,4- c ']bis([1,2,5]oxadiazole).

Abstract:Although various methods for the preparation of dibenzofurans are available, an efficient, general synthesis of dibenzofurans from benzofurans remains an unsolved problem. Herein, we provide the first benzannulation of readily prepared 2‐nitrobenzofurans with alkylidene malononitriles. This methodology enables facile assembly of a wide variety of highly functionalized dibenzofurans in moderate to excellent yields under metal‐free conditions. Gram‐scale synthesis and further elaborations of the product were succesfully performed, demonstrating synthetic utility of this method.

Abstract:Objective To simplify the synthesis of 3-aryl-2,2-disubtituted dihydrobenzofurans.Methods It involves a selective cross McMurry reaction coupling of a 2-hydroxyphenyl-aryl-methanone with an aldehyde as a pivotal step and a sequential acid-promoted cyclization of the resulting ortho-vinylphenols.Results The structure of 3-aryl-2,2-disubtituted dihydrobenzofurans was confirmed by IR,1H-NMR,13C-NMR and HRMS(EI).An array of 3-aryl-2,2-disubtituted dihydrobenzofurans were conveniently and efficiently obtained with two-step total yields of 89%~98%.Conclusion The advantages of this synthetic approach are as follows: the reagents are readily available,the conditions are mild and the operations are simple,and the preparations are suitable for scale-up.

Abstract:A palladium(0)-catalyzed cascade reaction for the efficient synthesis of 2,3-disubstituted benzofuran derivatives 3 containing a 3-trisubstituted alkene functional group in moderate yields from alkynyl-substituted benzynes 1 and aryl halides 2 has been developed. This method provides an efficient and alternative approach to benzofurans which are very useful heterocyclic compounds with biological and pharmacological potentials. A plausible mechanism involving intramolecular ene reaction, intermolecular insertion, and β-H elimination is proposed.

Abstract:Objective To find a mass spectrum characterization of benzofuranone compounds.Methods3-n-propylphthalide,two epimers,and two cis-trans-isomers were analyzed under electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry(ESI-MSn) or HPLC/MS conditions,respectively.A detailed analysis of benzofuranone compounds was also reported.ResultsMolecular composition data of the fragment ions were obtained with the aid of comparison of the multiple tandem mass spectra of five compounds.Attempts have been made to provide rational pathways for the formation of the fragment ions from these protonated compounds.ConclusionThe method is quick,precise and simple.The mass spectrum data will provide useful knowledge for the identification of unknown relative compounds for which no synthetic and isolated reference compounds are available.

Abstract:The title compound, C 17 H 13 NO 6 , was synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, MS, 1 H NMR and single crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in monoclinic system space group C 2/c with a = 27.981(6) Å, b = 12.996(3) Å, c = 8.0900(16) Å, β = 91.06(3)°, V = 2941.4(10) Å 3 , Z = 8, R 1 = 0.0675, wR 2 = 0.1626, and T = 298(2) K. The X-ray structure determination revealed that the center furanone ring is nearly coplanar with p -methoxybenzene ring and forms a dihedral angle of 87.2(1)° with the nitrobenzene ring. O–H···O Intermolecular hydrogen bonds link pairs of molecules into centrosymmetric dimers, making a graph set motif of R 2 2 (10). The dimers are further assembled into a chain of edge-fused R 4 4 (34) rings running along the [001] direction. The final three-dimensional supramolecular architecture is stabilized by weak π–π interactions. Graphical Abstract The dimers were assembled into a chain of edge-fused R 4 4 (34) rings running along the [001] direction and a co-chain is formed with an “x” pattern of the cross section.

Abstract:Abstract A new benzofuran compound, named 2-[5-hydroxy-4-methoxy-2-(3-p-henyl-trans-allyloxy)benzyl]-5-hydroxy-6-methoxy-3-phenylbenzofuran (1), together with (+)-obtusafuran (2) and isoparvifuran (3), was isolated from the heartwood of Dalbergia latifolia. Their structures were elucidated by a combination of spectroscopic methods and comparison with the literature. Compounds 2 and 3 were obtained from this plant for the first time. Compound 1 exhibited moderated antioxidant effect for scavenging 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical (IC50 = 96.7 ± 8.9 μM).

Abstract:A facile synthesis of hitherto unreported benzofuran-2-yl(9-methyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)methanones (3a–l) is described. The synthesis mainly relies on the ultrasound-assisted Rap–Stoermer reaction of 3-chloroacetyl-9-methyl-9H-carbazole (1) with a variety of salicylaldehydes, as well as 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde (2) in CH3CN, with the presence of PEG-400 as a catalyst. This procedure offers easy access to benzofuran-2-yl(carbazolyl)methanone derivatives in a short reaction time and the products are achieved in good yields.
