Abstract:The greatest political wisdom of Marx was most profoundly reflected in his grasp of the joint between political emancipation and human liberation.By analyzing burgher society from the view of the law philosophy,Marx objectively and rationally discussed the historical merits and significance of political emancipation,expounded how to clear up the religion alienation,political alienation and their entanglement by political emancipation.He realized that political emancipation was not free of contradictions at all,which relentlessly exposed and criticized the historical limit and limitations of political emancipation.Based on profound understanding of the limit and limitations of political emancipation as well as the analysis of burgher society from a perspective of political economics,Marx put forward to transcend the political emancipation,to confront the political force with social force for mankind liberation.Besides,the necessity and the possibility were demonstrated and rigorously analyzed.It is of profound enlightening significance to compare Marx's idea of political emancipation with the practices of Chiness political reform and development.

Abstract:Amartya Sen's impossibility of a Paretian libertarian theorem proves that there exist conflicts between two seemingly self-evident principles:minimum liberty principle and Pareto principle.The theorem implicates a meta-question:what is the basis of determining liberty? In order to eliminate the paradox of the theorem,some proper preferences should be formed.The rationality,liberty and right boundary of preference are generated dynamically in historical process,and are adjusted in different historical periods of social development.Understanding the theorem is of great practical value in analyzing the various right conflicts that china is faced with nowadays.

Abstract:As a great thinker , Thomas Hobbes expressed his view acout freedom. He defined freedom as one that person is capable of acting at his will without any hindrance, to be free as a member of a civil society, Hobbes claimed that the extent of your civil liberty basically depends upon " the silence of the law".This mean that so long as there is no law to which your will must conform, you remain in full possession of your freedom as a subject.Thus ,the extent of your freedom as a citizen only depend upon the how many laws are made, there is any direct connection between the political institution and the maintenance of individual liberty. In this case ,Hobbess's view about freedom was regarded as the Negative freedom.

Abstract:democracy is necessary but not sufficient to a free society.On the one hand,democracy,in its essence,means the politics that the whole citizen takes hold of the supreme power;in reality,the majority of the citizen enjoys it. In consequence,they may abuse what they have,which leads to 'majority tyranny'.On the other hand,tyranny could still be possible even if democracy does not bring about tyranny of the majority over the minority: a type of tyranny violating individual freedom and rights.For the supreme power,in its nature,correlates with unrestricted power,which is prone to evolve into unlimited power.As a result,the supreme power has the possibility of becoming unlimited power and becoming tyrannical whether it is in the hands of the monarch or the common people.

Abstract:Kant abandoned the thinking path of freedom by Christianity,and pointed out the selfpredicament when the law of eudaemonism in face of freedom.So Kant completed the systematically rational construction of freedom and its realization by self-legislation of reason,starting entirely from good will of rational beings.Since Kant understood freedom as human beings enacted and carried out the categorical imperative completely by reason of themselves,and finally emphasized the need to suppose the immortality of the soul and the existence of God,His argumentation revealed a logic from people-people relationship to people-God relationship.In contrast,Marx argued that freedom was a practical issue other than only a theoretical or logical issue,therefore,it was impossible to realize the freedom of human beings only through the purely formal laws.

Abstract:The paper starts with the proposal that the cause of the apparent insolubility of the free-will problem are several popular but strongly metaphysical notions and hypotheses. To reduce the metaphysics, some ideas are borrowed from physics. A concept of event causality is discussed. The importance of Hume's Principle of Causality is stressed and his Principle of Causation is weakened. The key concept of the paper, the so-called relative freedom, is also suggested by physics. It is a kind of freedom that can be observed everywhere in nature. Turning to biology, incomplete knowledge is defined for all organisms. They cope with the problem by Popper's trial and error processes. One source of their success is the relative freedom of choice from the basic option ranges: mutations, motions and neural connections. Finally, the conjecture is adopted that communicability can be used as a criterion of consciousness and free will is defined as a conscious version of relative freedom. The resulting notion is logically self-consistent and it describes an observable phenomenon that agrees with our experience.

Abstract:The present article aims to illuminate a notion of finite freedom in both Heidegger and Levinas. Levinas criticizes the Heideggerian ontology for holding an egoistic, unconstrained notion of freedom. The article first responds to such a criticism by showing that the Heideggerian notion of freedom as self-binding involves normativity. It then argues that both Heidegger and Levinas propose a notion of finite freedom as the unity of autonomy and heteronomy. Finally, the article also sheds light on what different approaches to the source of normativity separate the two philosophers’ understandings of freedom.

Abstract:Freedom of the will in Theology of Eastern Fathers of the Church is greater than the freedom of the will of the Catholic theology, in two ways: First, at the beginning of faith,Eastern Fathers of the Church emphasize the Synergy and necessity of human will's choice, and Western theology highlighted the decisiveness of God's grace under the doctrine of Original Sin. Secondly, Eastern Fathers of the Church believe that the essence of Spiritual practice is human beings receiving God's grace, and for Western theologians the Spiritual practice is Spiritualists experiencing their sins and imitating the example of Christ obeying the Will of God. There are four sematic differences between the concept of freedom of the Orthodox Church and the common concept of freedom: in subject, in context, in implication and in intent.
