Abstract:This article considers a class of delayed bi-directional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with reaction diffusion terms and delays. We obtain some simple criteria ensuring the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium and its global exponential stability by applying homeomorphism mapping, constructing a new Lyapunov functional and inequality techniques. These criteria are independent of delays and posses infinitely adjustable real parameters, which improve and extend some recent results [ J. Cao and M. Abstract:In this article, a delay-differential equation modeling a bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks (NNs) with reaction-diffusion terms is investigated. A feedback control law is derived to achieve the state global exponential synchronization of two identical BAM NNs with reaction-diffusion terms by constructing a suitable Lyapunov functional, using the drive-response approach and some inequality technique. A novel global exponential synchronization criterion is given in terms of inequalities, which can be checked easily. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Abstract:By using some analytic techniques, several simple criteria are derived for the global exponential stability of delayed bi-directional associative memory (BAM) neural networks. Our results throw off the usual assumption that the activation function is of bounded character. Exponential converging velocity indexes are provided, which depend on the transmission delays and system parameters. A numerical example is also given to show the correctness of our analysis. These results have an important instructional significance in the design of exponential stable delayed BAM circuits.

Abstract:In this paper, both global exponential stability and periodic solutions are investigated for a class of delayed reaction-diffusion BAM neural networks with Dirichlet boundary conditions. By employing suitable Lyapunov functionals, sufficient conditions of the global exponential stability and the existence of periodic solutions are established for reaction-diffusion BAM neural networks with mixed time delays and Dirichlet boundary conditions. The derived criteria extend and improve previous results in the literature. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:Sufficient conditions are obtained for the existence and global exponential stability of a unique equilibrium of a class of two-layer heteroassociative networks called bidirectional associative memory (BAM) networks with Lipschitzian activation functions without assuming their boundedness, monotonicity or differentiability and subjected to impulsive state displacements at fixed instants of time. An illustrative example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:In this paper we study the stability for a class of stochastic bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with reaction–diffusion and mixed delays. The mixed delays considered in this paper are time-varying and distributed delays. Based on a new Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional and the Poincaré inequality as well as stochastic analysis theory, a set of novel sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee the stochastically exponential stability of the trivial solution or zero solution. The obtained results show that the reaction–diffusion term does contribute to the exponentially stabilization of the considered system. Moreover, two numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Abstract:Impulsive bidirectional associative memory neural network model with time-varying delays and reaction-diffusion terms is considered. Several sufficient conditions ensuring the existence, uniqueness, and global exponential stability of equilibrium point for the addressed neural network are derived by M-matrix theory, analytic methods, and inequality techniques. Moreover, the exponential convergence rate index is estimated, which depends on the system parameters. The obtained results in this paper are less restrictive than previously known criteria. Two examples are given to show the effectiveness of the obtained results.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the exponential stability of stochastic reaction-diffusion Bi-directional Associative Memory (BAM) neural networks. By constructing a novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii function, and applying inequality analysis technique as well as M-matrix theory, we first give some sufficient exponential stability criteria in terms of p-norm for a class of high-order stochastic reaction-diffusion BAM neural networks with discrete and distributed delays. The model we formulated is new and more general than the BAM neural networks investigated in previous publications. Moreover, the obtained results are easy to check and improve some existing stability results. An example is presented to show the application of the criteria obtained in this paper.

Abstract:In this paper, we first discuss the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point of interval general BAM neural networks with reaction-diffusion terms and multiple time-varying delays by means of using degree theory. Then by applying the existence result of an equilibrium point and constructing a Lyapunov functional, we discuss global exponential stability for above neural networks. Abstract:In this paper, a novel linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based sufficient condition, which guarantees the existence and global asymptotic stability of a class of generalized bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with reaction-diffusion terms and mixed time delays, is obtained by using inequality technique, degree theory, LMI method and constructing Lyapunov functional. The mixed time delays consist of both the discrete delays and the infinitely distributed delays. The results generalize and improve the earlier publications under the assumption that the activation functions only satisfy general global Lipschitz conditions. Two simple examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results. These results can be applied to design globally asymptotically stable networks and thus have important significance in both theory and applications.

Abstract:In this paper, the global exponential stability is investigated for the bi-directional associative memory networks with time delays. Several new sufficient conditions are presented to ensure global exponential stability of delayed bi-directional associative memory neural networks based on the Lyapunov functional method as well as linear matrix inequality technique. To the best of our knowledge, few reports about such "linearization" approach to exponential stability analysis for delayed neural network models have been presented in literature. The method, called parameterized first-order model transformation, is used to transform neural networks. The obtained conditions show to be less conservative and restrictive than that reported in the literature. Two numerical simulations are also given to illustrate the efficiency of our result.

Abstract:In this paper, the global exponential stability is discussed for discrete-time bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with time varying delays. By the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique and discrete Lyapunov functional combined with inequality techniques, a new global exponential stability criterion of the equilibrium points is obtained for this system. The proposed result is less restrictive than those given in the earlier literatures, and easier to check in practice. Remarks are made with other previous works to show the superiority of the obtained results, and the simulation example is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of our result.

Abstract:In this paper, a class of interval general bidirectional associative memory (BAM) neural networks with delays are introduced and studied, which include many well-known neural networks as special cases. By using fixed point technic, we prove an existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point for the interval general BAM neural networks with delays. By using a proper Lyapunov functions, we get a sufficient condition to ensure the global robust exponential stability for the interval general BAM neural networks with delays, and we just require that activation function is globally Lipschitz continuous, which is less conservative and less restrictive than the monotonic assumption in previous results. In the last section, we also give an example to demonstrate the validity of our stability result for interval neural networks with delays.
