Abstract:As far as its most important and perfect part is concerned,ethics is the science of governing rather than that of behaving;it is the science of moral principles of social governing.Moral standard of a society itself is not the basic reason for social development.What kind of moral standard a society carries out,however,is the basic reason for social development: the carrying out of fine moral standard is the basic reason for social development while the carrying out of abominable morals is the basic reason for the stagnancy of society.Ethics is the science concerning fine morals,so it is quite valuable for the development and progress of human society.This is the true essence of "With half of Confucian Analects one can govern the world".
