Abstract:In modern times,while Western learnings were introduced into China,Confucian classics became historiography.The East Zhejiang scholarship integrated the classics with the institution,which made it an important site for modern scholars to communicate between the old（China） and the new（West）,and build the new academic system.Liu Xianxin regarded the East Zhejiang scholarship his principal learning.He compiled The Collection of Roots（Xianhe Lu） many times,and constructed an academic genealogy of the East Zhejiang scholarship which perceived the Wuzhou historiography as the surface and Yaojiang Neo-Confucianism as the core.Moreover,Liu Xianxin explored the academic origin of literary and historical collation of the East Zhejiang School in the way of "knowing the categories and understanding the general system",and tried to integrate the study of life with the study of classics and history,in order to achieve the modern transformation of Chinese scholarship.The paper probes the sources and purposes of the original meaning and theme of Xianhe Lu,and hopes to show that the modern East Zhejiang School had been constantly shaped in the historical context and academic network.In addition,the paper also tends to provide some thoughts on how to clarify the changes of modern scholarship and analyze the transformation of Chinese civilization.

Abstract:After the An-Shi Rebellion in the Tang Dynasty,many changes took place in such areas as politics,society,economy and culture.These changes constituted an abundant and complicated literary environment.The prosperous Yang's Family was closely related to the political background,social origin and regional environment of the literary development in the middle and late Tang Dynasty.Besides,there were a number of the Yang's Family members,who formed one of the factors which made great influence upon the literary development at that time.This article also studies the literary environment involving regions,party struggle,imperial examination and marriage in the middle and late Tang Dynasty,with the Yang's Family as an entry point.This is a new perspective concerning the research on literature of the Tang Dynasty.

Abstract:In the article, the signiifcant contributions to Chinese library science and library cause of Mr. Wang Yunwu are generally analyzed and reviewed. He made contributions on the ideas of library Science,building and management of library,library education. What his main contribution on library science are shown on three aspects: ifrstly, clearly illustrating the aim and function of modern library,to transfer collection to utilization.sencondly,setting up scientiifc method to manage library.thirdly,exploring the coordinating ways between western and Chinese traditional knowledge. What he creates unitary classiifcation for Chinese and foreign book and the four-angle number indexing system for Chinese characters became bases of reading for open shelf in Dong Fang library ,which also played an important role in Chinese modern culture. Abstract:LIANG Qichao is both a famous enlightenment thinker in modern Chinese history and a pioneer of modern bibliography. He closely integrated bibliography and academic research, proposed writing by means of bibliography, advocated constitutional reform and modernization to enlighten people, disseminated the idea of national salvation, offering a theoretical basis for the reform. Abstract:Zhejiang Library, from its founding in 1900, has been in the compilation of the bibliography of its collection of books, during which there has not been void of expansion and perfection. Thus the fruitful tradition in the collection of books in our country is being passed on. In 1977 Zhejiang Library participated in the edition of the general index for The ancient rare edition of the whole nation and engaged in investigating the bibliography of the ancient rare edition in Zhejiang province. After 20 years of hard work the profou nd project was finished. This book not only took in the lesson in The Chinese bibliography of the ancient rare edition but also characterized itself with the special features- being realistic and creative. At the same time it had new resear ches and gained in some aspects such as the standard of the ancient rare edition s, the style of the recording, the scope of the ingathering, how to reflect the characteristics of local literature in Zhejiang. In a word, the book is a new pr ogeny for the bibliography of the ancient works.

Abstract:The strong interest in literature in Chinese academic tradition has sustained even a contemporary development of such studies as emendation of text,history of literature,history of book publishing,and history of book collecting.And yet,unfortunately,little attention has been directed to the cultural and social functions of literature at large.The overseas sinologists’works on Chinese social history of books prove to be weak due to their indiscriminate transplant of western ideas and methodology.Different from the western one,the critical issue concerning the social and cultural functions of books in China is absolutely no more than the relation of a long history of book publishing and collecting to its influence on the social development and cultural heritage in ancient China.Only with"literature in culture"in mind can we attain a more profound understanding of Chinese ancient literature.

Abstract:Dong Kang is a famous bibliophile and a book engrave master in modern China. Abstract:This paper makes a bibliometric analysis of the research papers on branch libraries of universities in China in the past twenty years.Through the analysis of the publishing time,the main contents of the essays,the author of this article draws the outline of the present situation of the researches on the branch libraries,points out that Chinese scholars have laid emphasis merely on theories and qualitative researches,that the library should strengthen the investigation of the statistical analysis and empirical researches,and establish an effective mechanisms for evaluation and assessment,and that all the researches should be comprehensive and penetrative to explore the effective rules and regulations of the operation.
