Abstract:The motion of particles in multiphase reaction systems and their physicochemical properties at the interfaces play a decisive role in molecular diffusion,energy transfer and reaction transformation,which in turn directly determines the energy and material consumption as well as intrinsic safety of the chemical reaction process.This paper briefly introduces some exploratory work carried out by our team and colleagues in the past 20 years in the area of nano-micron fluids and their interfacial properties and reaction intensification in multiphase reaction systems,including their intensification effects of mass transfer and reaction;the structure,motion,mass transfer and reaction properties of individual nano-micron bubble;dynamic,nonlinear,non-uniform and nonequilibrium characteristics;the testing and characterization of the fluids,the hydroxyl radical detection in nano-micron aqueous solution and their novel chemical effects;as well as applications of the fluids for reaction intensification.It is shown that nano-micron fluids with the physicochemical properties clearly different from those of macroscopic fluids are the emerging but very challenging field requiring intensive research and development.On the theoretical side,it is necessary to improve and extend theories of the classical physical chemistry and equilibrium thermodynamics with the consideration of the dynamic,nonequilibrium and scale effects.On the experimental side,it is crucial to design and establish instrumentation systems suitable for the in-situ detection and characterization of nano-micron fluids fluids.In terms of applications,it is important to invent nano-micron interfacial generators for preparing and regulating nano-micron fluids on a large scale(e.g.,103～106 m3 h-1)at large gas-liquid ratio(e.g.,5:1～100:1),and to develop nano-micron fluid reactor platforms and manipulation systems for a wide range of application scenarios.
