Worn-out VALUES OF MUSLIM SOCIETY UNDER THE THREAT OF SECULARISM

Abstract:This study deals with the situation of the society, which started with modernity in the globalizing world and faced the threat of secularism in the process that evolved into post-modernism. Our aim is to try to determine how modernity affects the moral and religious life of today's society. Because in this process, which started with modernity and continued with post-modernity, the social structure brought along a new human typology. The view of this new human typology towards religion and values has gradually moved away from the customs, traditions, beliefs and worships, away from the Muslim model that should be.
In this sense, secularism emerges as a trend that discredits religion and its values by replacing reason with revelation and its messenger, the prophet. By expanding the field of mind and accepting it as the only source for understanding the revelation, it has led to the elimination of Allah and his messenger and to giving the mind an endless field of action. This situation has turned people into an extremely carefree spirit in the face of revelation. Although the effort to bring the mind to the forefront with the secularism that emerged in the West against the pagan culture can be seen as correct, it does not seem possible to accept this situation for Islam, which is the only divine religion that has survived to the present day by being protected from distortions. Because this effort will cause Islam, which has the quality of being divine, to lose its divine feature and turn into a human philosophy, thus Islam will lose its ability to transform people. In addition, personal interests and interests will come to the fore under the name of westernization and modernization in the social arena, where secularism and a deistic understanding of god are dominant, and this will lead to the formation of a new human community with a hedonistic understanding.
In this sense, secularization reduces the interaction area of religion in sociological and psychological sense, both in people's social lives and in their individual thoughts and feelings, and even causes it to disappear. While this situation brings deism to the fore in the field of creed, it appears as a situation that threatens the Muslim identity, which emphasizes pure, clean and moral values.
With a theological understanding that there is no revelation, God is depicted as a being who has only done his job as a creator and stepped aside, while he has been pushed under a burden that he cannot bear with the unlimited range of motion given to him in the mind. Thus, man has created a new religion, a new god and a new way of life in this field according to his own interests and interests, and he has chosen the secular life as a way of life by giving the name of religion to this new situation that he has planned. Thus, man has lost the divine harbor where he can take refuge in the face of material and spiritual difficulties, and has been surrendered to his soul, lust and the devil.
