Brief Introduction of the Main Results of "research on Improving the New Rural Cooperative Medical System in Rural China"

Abstract:This paper generally described the main results of the project"research on improving the New Rural Cooperative Medical System in rural China"as follows:(1)Forming a serial of thoughts,procedures and methods to develop,evaluate and amend the policies of NRCMS,including group analysis of classifying the rural residents,financial risk analysis from medical expenses,definition and measurement of medical impoverishment,financing measurement of the premium,developing,evaluating and amending the NRCMS policies.(2)Developing a decision-support information platform about the NRCMS,including five functional modules such as information collection,scheme development,scheme evaluation,scheme amendment and system management.(3)Testing the scientificity and operability of the methodology and information system,by carrying on an empirical analysis on the basis of compensation data from a sampling area.(4)Analyzing the relationship between settlements of premium and medical cost control and pointing out that the payment reform would be the only way to control the medical cost effectively.
