Abstract:In this paper, some convex properties of vector-valued Banach sequence spaces equipped with sequential norms are discussed. The main results are summarized as follows:1. ss(E) is locally uniformly rotund if and only if ss and E are locally uniformly rotund;2. ss(E) is strongly rotund if and only if ss and E are strongly rotund;3. Let ss and ss* have AK property, then ss(E) is very rotund if and only if ss and E are very rotund.

Abstract:In this paper, a criterion for locally uniformly rotund points and weakly locally uniformly rotund points in Musielak–Orlicz sequence spaces equipped with the Orlicz norm is given. As a corollary, we get the criterion in order that Musielak–Orlicz sequence spaces equipped with the Orlicz norm are locally uniformly rotund and weakly locally uniformly rotund.

Abstract:In this paper,we consider an iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a relatively nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of the variational inclusion for an inverse-strongly accretive mapping and m-accretive mapping in a real Banach space.Then we show that the sequence converges strongly to a common element of two sets.

Abstract:In the present paper, we introduce and study a class N of norms alpha on the sequence space C-00, called permutation symmetric gauge norms, which properly contains the classical class of {parallel to.parallel to(p) : 1 <= p <= infinity}. For each alpha is an element of N, we define the generalized sequence space l(alpha), which is proved to be a Banach space, and then we obtain a characterization of l(alpha) in terms of the projection onto C-00. For the duality, the expected results in the classical sequence spaces l(p) (1 <= p <= infinity) are still valid in these new settings, including the characterization of dual space and the existence of Holder's inequality. It is worthy pointing out that the generalized sequence space l(alpha) is not a reflexive space, which is different from the usual sequence spaces.

Abstract:For a type of classic vector-valued sequence space,a class of important subsets is introduced.It includes all totally bounded sets and many sets which are not totally bounded in the sequence space.Some important properties of the subset family have been found.A vector-valued sequential-evaluation convergence theorem is obtained,from which stronger intrinsic meaning of vector-valued sequential-evaluation convergence of mapping series is promulgated.Conclusion completely drop the linearity restriction forced on the mappings as usual and is an obvious extension for applications in future.

Abstract:We study efficient point sets in terms of extreme points, positive support points and strongly positive exposed points. In the case when the ordering cone has a bounded base, we prove that the efficient point set of a weakly compact convex set is contained in the closed convex hull of its strongly positive exposed points, thereby extending the Phelps theorem. We study also the density of positive proper efficient point sets.

Abstract:We introduce the notion of strongly orthogonal set relative to an element in the sense of Birkhoff-James in a normed linear space to find a necessary and sufficient condition for an element $ x $ of the unit sphere $ S_{X}$ to be an exposed point of the unit ball $ B_X .$ We then prove that a normed linear space is strictly convex iff for each element x of the unit sphere there exists a bounded linear operator A on X which attains its norm only at the points of the form $ \lambda x $ with $ \lambda \in S_{K} $.

Abstract:We obtain several Banach–Stone type theorems for vector-valued functions in this paper. Let X,Y be realcompact or metric spaces, E,F locally convex spaces, and ϕ a bijective linear map from C(X,E) onto C(Y,F). If ϕ preserves zero set containments, i.e., z(f)⊆z(g)⟺z(ϕ(f))⊆z(ϕ(g)),∀f,g∈C(X,E), then X is homeomorphic to Y, and ϕ is a weighted composition operator. The above conclusion also holds if we assume a seemingly weaker condition that ϕ preserves nonvanishing functions, i.e., z(f)=0̸⟺z(ϕf)=0̸,∀f∈C(X,E). These two results are special cases of the theorems in a very general setting in this paper, covering bounded continuous vector-valued functions on general completely regular spaces, and uniformly continuous vector-valued functions on metric spaces. Our results extend and generalize many recent ones.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the strong b -suprametric spaces in which we prove the fixed point principles of Banach and Edelstein. Moreover, we prove a variational principle of Ekeland and deduce a Caristi fixed point theorem. Furthermore, we introduce the strong b -supranormed linear spaces in which we establish the fixed point principles of Brouwer and Schauder. As applications, we study the existence of solutions to an integral equation and to a third-order boundary value problem.
