Abstract:The donated books is the one of important channel of collection resources construction in public libraries.At present,the book donation system is not perfect.This paper attempts to analyze the donation work in TEDA library,and discusses how to establish the suitable donation system in public libraries.

Abstract:At present,most libraries start to receive donated books.However,the process of book donation is usually operated manually.Tsinghua University Library has developed a book donation system for the first time.This system is not only convenient for the graduate students to donate their books,but also helpful to cyberize and standardize the book donation process in the library.In this paper,the functions, realizations and advantages of this system are discussed in detail.

Abstract:Based on the existing donation work,Tsinghua University Library designs and develops the donation website to promote the donation work via the network platform.The donation website not only provides clear donation guidance,but also adds search functions to enhance the transparency and quality of donation services,and updates the donation ranking list dynamically to show respect to donors timely and adequately.At the same time,the donation website also lively publishes donation news and exhibitions so that donors and readers could know the progress and achievements of donation work in time.The application of donation website is helpful to deepen library services,strengthen the library publicity,inspire the donation enthusiasm of donors,and attract more donation resources for libraries.

Abstract:Most of the public libraries in China provide charge services at present,however,this measure goes against the further development of the public libraries,because the public libraries are the public welfare service organizations.Therefore,it's necessary for public libraries to freely open.China should take measures from the perspective of society,governments,libraries and readers for the public libraries' free opening on basic services.All sectors of the community should raise funds to cope with the issue of funding for public libraries through various channels;the Government should make use of legal means to protect the supply of funds to the public libraries;the library should create a regional consortium of public libraries in order to promote public libraries free of charge;the readers need to improve the utilization rate of literature resources in order to avoid wasting public resources.

Abstract:By the end of 2010,51 Non-Governmental Organizations have established more than 20 thousand libraries,invested nearly 300 million Yuan,donated more than ten million books and provided volunteer service nearly 20 thousand person-time.These libraries are mainly distributed in poor rural areas in central and western China providing various services,covering a wide range of readers and focusing on promotion of reading.They have effectively enriched the knowledge of local people and made a significant contribution to the development of grass-roots libraries in China.The experience,efficiency and even problems in NGOs' supports and aids to libraries are of great significance.

Abstract:Based on questionnaires conducted in Nanjing,the paper introduces the book genres,reading formats,reading supervisors,and the English reading activities as preferred by children.It aims to discuss the feasibility of conducting English reading programs for children in public libraries,considering the library resources,personnel,technological supports at disposal.It also puts forward proposals to improve publicity,volunteer recruitment and website construction.

Abstract:A library is an institution that collects and organizes book materials for people to read and reference. The design of this system is aimed at information-based management of the library's borrowing function, enabling it to achieve the practical goal of improving the work efficiency of administrators. The book borrowing management system in this article adopts a B/S architecture, PHP language, and MySQL database. The administrator of this system can manage the library's book information, reader information, and borrowing and returning information; Readers and users can query book information, modify personal information, and report the loss of their own documents. Unlike general book borrowing management systems, this system uses intelligent recommendation algorithms to recommend books to readers based on their borrowing records. The article provides a detailed introduction to the technical architecture used in the development of the system, as well as a description of various functions of the system. It also studies the functional requirements, usage process, architecture, and database table design of the book borrowing management system.

Abstract:In order to make lost and found work more efficient,standardized and institutionalized,Tsinghua University Library takes full advantages of the network environment,designs and develops the lost and found system.It receives and processes lost properties based on the network platform.The construction of lost and found system fully utilizes successful experiences of similar websites from both abroad and domestic.It manages lost properties based on the unified platform.The management process is improved in comparison with the original working method.The system also provides functionalities like lost property claiming and data statistics.Tsinghua University Library carries out the lost and found work in depth via the application of the system.The claim rate is increased and the claim period is shortened,the library provides better services to readers as a result.
