Abstract:With lots of online problems found in economic management, more and more scholars take an interesting attention on analysis method of competitive algorithm to solve online problems in recent years. For on-line leasing problem, because of its simple demand structure and the good statistical properties, we use competitive analysis method to built online leasing model with linear exponential hazard function under taking it into account tax rate that takes an important play in affecting online leasing decision-making. Finally, optimal competitive strategies and their competitive ratios will be given out by competitive analysis.

Factors Influencing Automobile Financial Leasing and Risk Control - An Empirical Study on China Automobile Leasing Market

Abstract:Financing lease has bloomed as a new financing tool in China for the last several years. In this thesis I investigate the factors that influence China’s automobile financial leasing decisions by both lessors and lessees through market surveys. Based on Probit regression analysis of the data collected from 250 companies and 300 individuals, I find that a firm is more likely to use automobile financial leasing when its corporate tax rate is lower, growth potential is more stabilized, and profit is higher. It is also more likely to happen when a firm's long-term debt ratio and its degree of internationalization are higher. At the individual level, I find that the likelihood of individuals’ leasing decision is influenced by their risk preference, income level, and car price. Individuals’ gender, age and education level show no effect. Using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) analysis, I further find that financing costs, service value-added, and products diversity are the three most important competitive factors for the auto financial leasing service providers. This is the case for both the corporate and individual customers in the sample. By contrast, the factors of sales channel and government relationship are found to be much less important. Finally, through an in-depth case study of the leasing company Shanghai Auto Financial Leasing, I find that the key factors determining the customers’ credit default risk are interest rate and automobile type. I also investigate factors that influence business risk during the automobile procurement stage, at the selling stage, and toward the disposition stage. The managerial implications of the above results are discussed throughout the thesis.

Abstract:By analyzing a hand-collected transaction-level dataset on the finance leases of China’s public firms for the period 2007-2019, this paper sheds light on China’s financial leasing industry. We find that banks use their affiliated leasing firms to provide credit to constrained clients in order to circumvent the government’s targeted monetary tightening policy, which offsets the expected decline in traditional bank loans in overcapacity industries and hampers the effectiveness of the monetary policy. Although this regulatory arbitrage may cause systemic risk at the macro level, bank-affiliated leasing firms exhibit much tighter risk control than other non-bank-affiliated leasing firms at the micro level, indicating that banks use finance leases as a channel to support their low-risk clients rather than to make excessive profit.

Abstract:In this paper,we consider a supply chain with a supplier,a downstream buyer and a financial institution,where the supplier is facing financial constraints.We construct a multi-stage decision-making model with or without accounts receivable financing,respectively.After our analysis,we get the expected profits of participants in the supply chain in all stages.Through numerical analysis,we further research the values of the supply chain financing with accounts receivables to supply chain members and the entire supply chain.Our work shows that,small and medium suppliers without financing couldn′t produce in succession,but could when they get accounts receivable financing,and they also could produce optimal production in a shorter period in a fast-growing market.When there is supply chain financing,the buyer may achieve sustained earnings growth because he receives continuous supply,and he benefit more from accounts receivable financing when the seller has more initial capital.The financial institution gets large financing income when the seller has less initial capital,but he will gain less benefit when the seller become strong enough.The small and medium suppliers,buyer and financial institution all benefit from accounts receivable financing.

Abstract:The paper inspects the impacts of the integrated Logistics and Finance Service(LFS) from the 3PL firm on the decisions and performance of agents in a supply chain with capital constraints. We introduce a monopolistic and competitive financial market to highlight the motivation of LFS. The paper shows under the financial service from the monopolistic financial market, the retail has to incorporate the operations and financial decisions to achieve her optimal payoff, but the competitive financial market could decouple the budget-constrained retailer's operations and financial decision. Our results show that the asymmetric information address the motivation of LFS, and LFS can create value in a budget-constrained supply chain.

Abstract:This paper studies the decision-making in a stylized supply chain where a supplier sells a single product to a news-vender retailer,who is budget-constrained and can get financial service from the competitive financial market.In such a setting,we study how the competition in the financial market,where each financial institution is supposed to be risk-neutral affects the operation and financial decisions in supply chain when the budget-constrain- ed retailer receives financial service from the competitive financial market.Our results show that financial service would create value in the supply chain where parties have small-medium budget constraints,and the competition of financing service would affect the decisions of the supplier,retailer,and financial institution.In this paper,we also provide some insights for the practice in the supply chain where parties are budget-constrained.

Abstract:<p>Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) often have challenges to obtain bank financing for their operations, due to strict risk control of banks and low credit rating of SMEs. In recent years supply chain finance (SCF) has become promising solutions to alleviate SMEs' financing problem, which takes advantage of supply chain integrity and relies on core enterprises to promote SMEs' financing. In this paper, by taking the risk of financing participants into account, we set up a framework of SCF based on a general supply chain contract. We discuss the equilibrium strategies under three financing modes respectively and the bank's decision-making, thereafter we analyze the financing mode decision under the general financing framework. We show that the wholesale price decision is related to the initial working capital of the retailer. Also, the critical initial working capital is affected by demand distribution, supply chain contract and interest rate. Moreover, reasonable wholesale price can eliminate SCF risk and guide the retailer's ordering and the bank's interest rate decision. Finally, the efficient working capital management can help the retailer to select reasonable financing mode, and all three financing modes have their own applicability.</p>

This article firstly presents the history, background, and development of the industry in China, and pays special attention to the newly emerging impetuses that will boost further development of the industry. The second part provides an overview of the structure of aircraft finance leases in China and particularly focuses on free trade zone leases. Lastly, this article concludes with an inside look at these types of transactions, including aircraft ownership, mortgages, rights of possession and use, liens and the special problems associated with the application of the Cape Town Convention.

Abstract:Budget hotels are a relatively new concept in China. In terms of the mode of development, leasing has been popular among the company-run budget hotels. This study explores the factors that influence company-run budget hotels in China to choose leasing (under company-run operations) as a vehicle to expand their budget hotel business instead of franchising or acquisition. This is despite the fact that the literature identifies leasing as a short-term approach. Using a case-study approach, a questionnaire was developed to collect data from interviewees of four budget hotel firms with domestic and foreign affiliations in China. Factors considered as important by the interviewees included costs (including energy costs), high speed of expansion, standardization, government policies, uncertain future and rising property rent. The findings suggest that the budget hotel firms' development strategies may not be suitable in the long term, which need to be altered if these hotels wish to benefit from sustained growth.
