Study on Job Stressors and Relating Factors among Nursing Staff in Gynecology and Obstetric Department

Abstract:Objective To explore the level and relating factors of job stressor among nurses in gynecology and obstetric department.Methods 126 nursing staff in gynecology and obstetric departments were tested using the Job Stressor Inventory.Results The total score of job stressors was 2.63±0.57 point.The factors of workload and time distribution and working environment and resources showed higher scores.The nurses in obstetric department and outpatient department showed higher scores in the factors of nursing profession,working environment and resources,patient care,management and interpersonal relationship than those in gynecology department.Conclusion It is suggested to establish effective measures to reduce nurses' job stress.It is necessary to reduce the level of stress both for nurses' physical and mental health and for high-quality of nursing care.
