Abstract:The entrance of "nature" from English to Chinese and the transformation of the word ziran in Chinese had been intertwined together. In the formal process, "nature" was not translated as ziran at first while in the latter process, the western concept and Chinese ideas of nature combined together with multiple, comprehensive meanings in the history of modern China. This means the second process consists some major transformations of ziran as a key concept in modern China. Firstly, it has been a process of materialization for the traditional concept of ziran from ancient China. Secondly, traditional ideas of nature like tian, tianran, ziran, got revived during their association and collaborations with western understandings of nature as a concept of naturalist philosophy. Thirdly, it was also in this process where a humanistic and existential definition of ziran began to emerge, not only as a response to the materialized understanding of ziran, but also created the confrontation between a material occidental civilization and a spiritual oriental civilization. This dualist view not only ignored other thought like Romantism, Humanism and ideas which go against materialism or scientism, but also overlooked materialism and scientism itself in the history of Modern China.

Abstract:The article is devoted to the modern analysis of approaches to the image of nature in Ancient Chinese philosophy. In the research, the author focuses attention on the image of nature as an important element for research in ecological and philosophical discourses. The concept of understanding the concept of Nature in ancient Chinese philosophy is revealed. Attention is drawn to the peculiarity of Ancient Chinese philosophy as one of the oldest philosophies in the world, the specifics of its thinking and understanding of nature are revealed, which influenced the development of human civilization in general. The main question of this study is the analysis of approaches to the transcription of the image of nature in ancient Chinese philosophy and its significance for modern human civilization. By reviewing and analyzing the relevant literature, the evolution of this phenomenon is revealed.

Abstract:The “nature” view in WANG Guo-wei’s poetics was set up in terms of the ideological resources from both the Chinese and the western poetic traditions. That is, when he was constructing his own “nature” ideology, he was faced with both the traditional Chinese sense of “nature” and the western sense of it. These two senses do not have equality and homogeneity. The western theoretical subjectivity is composed of three senses of “nature”, that is, barbarism, organism, and irrationalism. But the senses of “nature” in ancient Chinese poetics suffer from depressing or being marginalized. Accordingly, it is better to treat the essence of “nature” in WANG’s poetics as a scramble for the symbolic meaning in the knowledge/power relationship under that unique historical context, rather than as a fusion of the two sources. It is owing to the occupation of the western symbolic meaning in the various modern Chinese lexical items that the authoritative status of the western meaning in contemporary Chinese ideological system is firmly set up.

Abstract:Human form is the premise to define human beings. Amongst the relationships of man, human naturality and human nature, man is the carrier of the other two; and human naturality refers to the corporal property of human beings, which is man's biological feature; and human nature is the spiritual attribute of human beings, which is man's ethical and moral feature. Human naturality is the counterpart of human nature. Mankind is born with human naturality. It is not exclusive to man, but shared by other creatures. However, human nature is man's moral property, which is an ethical term. Human nature is only used to define human beings. Other creatures cannot have it. Moreover, human nature is acquired rather than innate. Human naturality can be inherited, but human nature has to be formed in a certain ethical environment, and perfected via moral teachings. Abstract:Opposite to Mr.Liu Wei-qin's misunderstanding about Kant's concept of in his articles such as Reflections on 'Literature is Humanism,' this article quotes a large amount of firsthand materials,complements and discussions in various aspects,pointing out that Liu,in his elaboration on Kant's concept of Nature, didn't distinguish Kant's definition on from that on Law of in two fields——Epistemology and Ethics,the Philosophy of Natural Science and the Metaphysics of Morals——which are totally different.Thereby he ascribed Nature of Mind, i.e.,the Nature of Moral, which in his mind is within the range of Humanism, only to the field of Epistemology and beyond Ethics.And then,he mechanically applied General Laws, which is only suitable for Epistemology,to Ethics.As a result,he seriously misunderstood Kant's concept of Nature. This article makes a deep,comprehensive discussion and elucidation on the rich meaning of Kant's Another about the creation of Arts.

Abstract:As soon as the explanation of was born in the beginning of new poetry,it grew quickly and strongly,and finally,it became an important conception in China's new poetry.On the one hand,the early new poets always applied the theory to exoteric a expression and criticism in their letters and articles.On the other hand,the explanation and refutation about the theory is related to some important topics like the contention between classical poetry and new poetry.Firstly,the demonstration of Nature was the verbal place for the contention.Secondly,the debate on writing and making,i.e.,its oppositional transformation to juxtaposition and unification,was integrated into the theory of Nature;at the same time,values were overthrown completely.Thirdly,contention was focused on the debates of rhyme and non-rhyme,Nature and rules and forms.In fact,the core of the contention is the validity of new poetry.The vindicators of new poetry and classical poetry used the same resource but got different conclusion.

Abstract:In the context of an unprecedented level of human harm to the natural world on a global scale, this essay aims to rehabilitate the category of the natural by drawing on the philosophies of the classical Daoist Zhuangzi and Friedrich Nietzsche. It considers the benefits of their undermining of anthropocentrism, their appreciation of natural limitations, their checking of human projections onto nature, and their recommendations concerning following the ways of nature while at the same time promoting human culture. The essay concludes with a few examples of how these ideas apply to some current environmental issues.

Abstract:This paper examines the idea of “following nature” in two classical Chinese thinkers, Mengzi and Zhuangzi. The goal is to complicate appeals to “following nature” in Asian thought and to problematize the very imposition of the concept “nature” on Zhuangzi and Mengzi. The paper begins by establishing some common ground between Mengzi and Zhuangzi, based on two points—both view harmony with tian (heaven/nature) as a primary aspect of living well, and both require a process of self-transformation to reach this harmony. The second part of the paper argues that Mengzi and Zhuangzi give different answers to a similar question. That question is, what does it means to follow or be in harmony with tian? The essay concludes with some reflections on how “following nature” in Zhuangzi and Mengzi might apply to environmental ethics.

Abstract:G.E.R. Lloyd, a Cambridge historian of science, claimed that the discovery of nature was the one of two important signs of the birth of science, with a rough positivist explanation. The word Nature has undergone a semantic transformation from Essence to Natural World. The Greek discovery of nature means two interconnected things. The first aspect is to invent a way to grasp the Being of beings by searching the Essence and Reason.
