DETERMINATION OF FOUR RESIDUAL ORGANIC SOLVENTS IN ALPHA LIPOIC ACID BY CAPILLARY GAS CHROMATOGRAPH

Abstract:A capillary gas chromatography method for the determination of residual organic solvent cyclohexane,ethyl acetate,benzene and acetone in alpha lipoic acid was established.HP-FFAP capillary column was used with nitrogen gas as carrier and FID as detector using dichloromethane as the internal standard.The linearity of the four residual solvents was satisfactory(r>0.999).The average recoveries were 99.8%-100.6% with RSD of 0.82%-1.33%.The limit of detection was 7.28-13.46 μg/mL.The contents of the four residual organic solvents in three hatches of samples all reached the standard requirements.The method is simple,rapid and accurate for the determination of residual organic solvents in alpha lipoic acid.
