Abstract:MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are small regulator,noncoding RNA molecules that are transcribed as primary microRNAs(pri-microRNAs) from eukaryotic genomes,prokaryotic genomes and virus,involved in post-transcriptional and translational control of gene expression,either via degradation or translational inhibition of target mRNAs.These microRNAs play central roles in a wide range of biological processes,including cell proliferation,differentiation and apoptosis.This review has outlined the characteristics,process of maturation,mechanism of action and their function.
