Abstract:Z-number, a new concept describes both the restriction and the reliability of evaluation, is more applicable than fuzzy numbers in the fields of decision making, risk assessment etc. However, how to deal with the restriction and the reliability properly is still a problem which is discussed few and inadequately in the existing literatures. In this paper, firstly, a new improved method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers where the weight of centroid points, degrees of fuzziness and the spreads of fuzzy numbers are taken into consideration is proposed, which can overcome some drawbacks of exiting methods and is very efficient for evaluating symmetric fuzzy numbers and crisp numbers. Then, a procedure for evaluating Znumbers with the method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers is presented, which considers the status of two parts (((A) over tilde,(B) under tilde)) of Z-numbers and gives the principles of ranking Z-numbers. The main advantage of the proposed method is utilization of Z-numbers which can express more vague information compared with the fuzzy number. In addition, instead of converting (B) over tilde to a crisp number as the existing methods of ranking Z-numbers did, the proposed method retains the fuzzy information of (B) over tilde which can reduce the loss of information. Finally, several numerical examples are provided to illustrate the superiority and the rationality of the proposed procedure.

Abstract:We study the family of all fuzzy sets of the n-dimensional Euclidean space, which are upper-semicontinuous, fuzzy convex and normal with compact supports contained in a non-degenerate convex subset, and prove that the following statements are equivalent: (i) The family of fuzzy sets with the topology induced by the supremum metric is homeomorphic to a non-separable Hilbert space whose weight is the cardinality of the set of all real numbers; (ii) the non-degenerate convex subset is topologically complete, or equivalently, it is a countable intersection of open sets in the n-dimensional Euclidean space.

Abstract:In this work, a new concept of upper dense sequence in interval (0,1] is introduced. There are infinitely many upper dense sequences in interval (0,1]. Using any upper dense sequence, a new decomposition theorem for fuzzy sets is established and proved. Then, using a chosen upper dense sequence as one of the necessary reference systems, infinitely many total orderings on the set of all fuzzy numbers can be well defined. Among them, a common upper dense sequence based on the binary numbers is suggested as a natural default option. Another upper dense sequence based on the rational numbers is also suggested. Regarding real numbers as special fuzzy numbers, all of these total orderings defined by using the suggested upper dense sequences are consistent with the natural ordering of real numbers. Building total ordering on the set of all fuzzy numbers in such a way is significant for fuzzy data analysis and, therefore, may be used in decision making with fuzzy information.

Abstract:Fuzzy spaces are obtained by quantizing adjoint orbits of compact semi-simple Lie groups. Fuzzy spheres emerge from quantizing S^2 and are associated with the group SU(2) in this manner. They are useful for regularizing quantum field theories and modeling spacetimes by non-commutative manifolds. We show that fuzzy spaces are Hopf algebras and in fact have more structure than the latter. They are thus candidates for quantum symmetries. Using their generalized Hopf algebraic structures, we can also model processes where one fuzzy space splits into several fuzzy spaces. For example we can discuss the quantum transition where the fuzzy sphere for angular momentum J splits into fuzzy spheres for angular momenta K and L.

Abstract:First, the impacts of uncertainty of position and attribute on topological relations and the disadvantages of qualitative methods in processing the uncertainty of topological relations are concluded. Second, based on the above point, the fuzzy membership functions for dividing topology space of spatial object and for describing uncertainty of topological relations are proposed. Finally, the fuzzy interior, exterior and boundary are defined according to those fuzzy membership functions, and then a fuzzy 9-intersection model that can describe the uncertainty is constructed. Since fuzzy 9-intersection model is based on fuzzy set, not two-value logic, the fuzzy 9-intersection model can describe the impacts of position and attribute of spatial data on topological relations, and the uncertainty of topological relations between fuzzy objects, relations between crisp objects and fuzzy objects, and relations between crisp objects in a united model.

Abstract:We give a theoretical and applicable framework for dealing with real-world phenomena. Joining pointwise and pointfree notions in BISH, natural topology gives a faithful idea of important concepts and results in intuitionism. Natural topology is well-suited for practical and computational purposes. We give several examples relevant for applied mathematics, such as the decision-support system Hawk-Eye (used in professional tennis), and various real-number representations. We compare CLASS, INT, RUSS, BISH and formal topology. There are links with physics, regarding the topological character of our physical universe. Translation of intuitionistic results to BISH is facilitated by our framework, using transfinite countable-ordinal induction in Brouwer's style. We study quotients of Baire space, and obtain constructive metrizability of star-finitary spaces. Silva spaces arise as example of non-metrizable natural spaces. Finally we discuss the role of Church's Thesis in physics.

Novel fuzzy topologies from old through fuzzy primals

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a novel fuzzy structure named "fuzzy primal". We study the essential properties and discuss basic operations on it. A fuzzy operator (.)$^\diamond$ on the family of all fuzzy sets is introduced here by applying the q-neighborhood structure to a primal fuzzy topological space along with the Lukasiewicz disjunction. We explore the main characterizations of (.)$^\diamond$. Then, we define another fuzzy operator, symbolized by Cl$^\diamond$, with the utilization of (.)$^\diamond$. These fuzzy operators are studied in order to deduce a new fuzzy topology from the original one. Such a new fuzzy topology is called primal fuzzy topology. The fundamental structure, particularly a fuzzy base that generates primal fuzzy topologies, as well as many relationships between different fuzzy primals and fuzzy topologies, are also analyzed. Lastly, the concept of compatibility between fuzzy primals and fuzzy topologies is introduced, and some equivalent conditions related to this are examined. It is shown that if a fuzzy primal is compatible with a fuzzy topology, then the fuzzy base that generates the primal fuzzy topology is itself a fuzzy topology.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the concept of weak fuzzy linear topology on a fuzzy topological vector space as a generalization of usual weak topology. We prove that this topology consists of all weakly lower semi-continuous fuzzy sets on a given vector space when K (R or C) considered with its usual fuzzy topology. In the case that the topology of K is different from the usual fuzzy topology, we show that the weak fuzzy topology is not equivalent with the topology of weakly lower semi-continuous fuzzy sets.

As this ring also contains improper fuzzy numbers (OFNs whose membership "functions" are actually just relations), we develop a set of operations to convert an improper fuzzy number to a proper one of the same type.

Abstract:This work aims to provide several versions of Dini's theorem for fuzzy number-valued continuous functions defined on a compact set K. In this context, there is a wide variety of possibilities since, unlike the real line, we can consider different topologies and orders on the set of fuzzy numbers. For example, we will show that the fuzzy Dini's theorem holds for the usual partial orders and the most commonly used topologies but does not hold for all orders in general.

Abstract:A fuzzy compactum in a space X is an upper semi-continuous map <math>f:A→[0,1]</math> from a nonempty compact subspace <math>A⊂X</math> to the unit closed interval <math>[0,1]</math> such that <math>{x∈A:f(x)>0}</math> is dense in A. In this paper, we investigate the topological structure of the space <math>Ke(X)</math> of fuzzy compacta of a separable metric space X with the Hausdorff metric. In particular, we prove that <math>Ke(X)≈ℓ2</math> if X is an infinite, locally compact, locally connected, connected and separable metric space.

Abstract:In the present paper, we introduce and discuss a new set of separation properties in fuzzy soft topological spaces called $ FS\delta $-separation and $ FS\delta $-regularity axioms by using fuzzy soft $ \delta $-open sets and the quasi-coincident relation. We provide a comprehensive study of their properties with some supporting examples. Our analysis includes more characterizations, results, and theorems related to these notions, which contributes to a deeper understanding of fuzzy soft separability properties. We show that the $ FS\delta $-separation and $ FS\delta $-regularity axioms are harmonic and heredity property. Additionally, we examine the connections between $ FS{\delta }^* $-compactness and $ FS\delta $-separation axioms and explore the relationships between them. Overall, this work offers a new perspective on the theory of separation properties in fuzzy soft topological spaces, as well as provides a robust foundation for further research in the transmission of properties from fuzzy soft topologies to fuzzy and soft topologies and vice-versa by swapping between the membership function and characteristic function in the case of fuzzy topology and the set of parameters and a singleton set in the case of soft topology.

Abstract:Many gauge theory models on fuzzy complex projective spaces will contain a strong instability in the quantum field theory leading to topology change. This can be thought of as due to the interaction between spacetime via its noncommutativity and the fields (matrices) and it is related to the perturbative UV-IR mixing. We work out in detail the example of fuzzy CP^2 and discuss at the level of the phase diagram the quantum transitions between the 3 spaces (spacetimes) CP^2, S^2 and the 0-dimensional space consisting of a single point {0}.

Abstract:The topological properties of coverings and their corresponding covering approximation operators have drawn special attention because these topological properties have important applications in rough sets. In this paper, we present some topological characterizations for three covering approximation operators. In the first part, we present certain topological characterizations for the covering lower approximation operator in an infinite universe, while the topological characterizations for the first and the second types of covering upper approximation operators are studied in a finite universe. In the second part, the relationships among three operators and the relationships among three topological spaces are established. In a word, topology theory provides useful tools to study covering-based rough sets.
