Abstract:We greatly extend fuzzifying topology by introducing a unary fuzzy predicate interpreted as the property to be fuzzifying topological spaces on the class of all so-called fuzzifying pretopological spaces and by adopting the semantic method of complete residuated lattice-valued logic.

Abstract:A difficult question arising in the study of effect algebras is how to equip them with a fitting and proper topology such that the topology is compatible with the partial operations ⊕ and Θ. As we know, the Frink ideal topology is an important intrinsic topology for studying partially ordered set theory; in particular, it is the correct topology for chains and direct products of a finite number of chains. In this paper, we show that the Frink ideal topology is also a nice topology for studying effect-algebra theory since it provides the operations with some of the expected continuity properties.

Abstract:The k-valued Kleene functions over Kleene algebra (instead of over Post algebra) are defined. Multivalued logic and fuzzy logic are studied in the light of lattice theory. It is shown that all Kleene k-valued logic (k = 3 or more) have the same algebraic structure as fuzzy logic through lattice isomorphism. As a by-product, an asymptotic formula and upper bound for enumeratinlg fuzzy switching functions of n variables is obtained. Some conditions for minimizing Kleene functions are discussed, and an efficient generalized Karnaught map method is described. An application is made of the above Kleene multivalued logic to the fault diagnosis of combinational circuits. The fault norm of a combinational circuit is introduced and it is shown that this norm contains all the information about the fault situation of the circuit, and can hence be used to solve such problems as fault analysis, fault diagnosis, and detection of circuit redundance and fault masking.

Abstract:During the last decades, a large amount of multi-valued transition systems, whose transitions or states are labeled with specific weights, have been proposed to analyze quantitative behaviors of reactive systems. To set up a unified framework to model and analyze systems with quantitative information, in this paper, we present an extension of doubly labeled transition systems in the framework of residuated lattices, which we will refer to as lattice-valued doubly labeled transition systems (LDLTSs). Our model can be specialized to fuzzy automata over complete residuated lattices, fuzzy transition systems, and multi-valued Kripke structures. In contrast to the traditional yes/no approach to similarity, we then introduce lattice-valued similarity between LDLTSs to measure the degree of closeness of two systems, which is a value from a residuated lattice. Further, we explore the properties of robustness and compositionality of the lattice-valued similarity. Finally, we extend the Hennessy–Milner logic to the residuate lattice-valued setting and show that the obtained logic is adequate and expressive with lattice-valued similarity.

Abstract:This paper presents a study of separation axioms and sobriety of bitopological spaces from the point of view of fuzzy topology via identifying bitopological spaces with topological spaces valued in the Boolean algebra of four elements. A system of separation axioms is proposed making use of Boolean-valued specialization order of bitopological spaces; The relationship between d-sobriety of bitopological spaces proposed by Jung and Moshier and sobriety of fuzzy topological spaces is studied; A Hofmann-Mislove theorem for bitopological spaces is established.

Abstract:It is known that fuzzy set theory can be viewed as taking place within a topos. There are several equivalent ways to construct this topos, one is as the topos of étalé spaces over the topological space $Y=[0,1)$ with lower topology. In this topos, the fuzzy subsets of a set $X$ are the subobjects of the constant étalé $X\times Y$ where $X$ has the discrete topology. Here we show that the type-2 fuzzy truth value algebra is isomorphic to the complex algebra formed from the subobjects of the constant relational étalé given by the type-1 fuzzy truth value algebra $\mathfrak{I}=([0,1],\wedge,\vee,\neg,0,1)$. More generally, we show that if $L$ is the lattice of open sets of a topological space $Y$ and $\mathfrak{X}$ is a relational structure, then the convolution algebra $L^\mathfrak{X}$ is isomorphic to the complex algebra formed from the subobjects of the constant relational étalé given by $\mathfrak{X}$ in the topos of étalé spaces over $Y$.

Abstract:Filters play an important role in studying fuzzy logics. From a logical point of view, filters correspond to sets of provable formulae. In this paper, the concept of picture fuzzy sets is applied to residuated lattices. The notion of picture fuzzy filters of a residuated lattice is introduced and some related properties are investigated. The characterizations of picture fuzzy filters are obtained. We show that the set of all the picture fuzzy filters of a residuated lattice forms a distributive lattice. Finally, a unified approach to picture fuzzy filter is proposed and the simple general principles of picture fuzzy filters are given. The relationships between various picture fuzzy filters are studied, by means of the quotient they determine.

Abstract:Quasitoposes encompass a wide range of structures, including various categories of graphs. They have proven to be a natural setting for reasoning about the metatheory of algebraic graph rewriting. In this paper we propose and motivate the notion of fuzzy presheaves, which generalises fuzzy sets and fuzzy graphs. We prove that fuzzy presheaves are rm-adhesive quasitoposes, proving our recent conjecture for fuzzy graphs. Furthermore, we show that simple fuzzy graphs categories are quasitoposes.

Novel fuzzy topologies from old through fuzzy primals

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a novel fuzzy structure named "fuzzy primal". We study the essential properties and discuss basic operations on it. A fuzzy operator (.)$^\diamond$ on the family of all fuzzy sets is introduced here by applying the q-neighborhood structure to a primal fuzzy topological space along with the Lukasiewicz disjunction. We explore the main characterizations of (.)$^\diamond$. Then, we define another fuzzy operator, symbolized by Cl$^\diamond$, with the utilization of (.)$^\diamond$. These fuzzy operators are studied in order to deduce a new fuzzy topology from the original one. Such a new fuzzy topology is called primal fuzzy topology. The fundamental structure, particularly a fuzzy base that generates primal fuzzy topologies, as well as many relationships between different fuzzy primals and fuzzy topologies, are also analyzed. Lastly, the concept of compatibility between fuzzy primals and fuzzy topologies is introduced, and some equivalent conditions related to this are examined. It is shown that if a fuzzy primal is compatible with a fuzzy topology, then the fuzzy base that generates the primal fuzzy topology is itself a fuzzy topology.

Abstract:Model theory, machine learning, and combinatorics each have generalizations of VC-dimension for fuzzy and real-valued versions of set systems. These different dimensions define a unique notion of a VC-class for both fuzzy sets and real-valued functions. We study these VC-classes, obtaining generalizations of certain combinatorial results from the discrete case. These include appropriate generalizations of $\varepsilon$-nets, the fractional Helly property and the $(p,q)$-theorem. We then apply these results to continuous logic. We prove that NIP for metric structures is equivalent to an appropriate generalization of honest definitions, which we use to study externally definable predicates and the Shelah expansion. We then examine distal metric structures, providing several equivalent characterizations, in terms of indiscernible sequences, distal types, strong honest definitions, and distal cell decompositions.

Abstract:We continue work of our earlier paper (Lewitzka and Brunner: Minimally generated abstract logics, Logica Universalis 3(2), 2009), where abstract logics and particularly intuitionistic abstract logics are studied. Abstract logics can be topologized in a direct and natural way. This facilitates a topological study of classes of concrete logics whenever they are given in abstract form. Moreover, such a direct topological approach avoids the often complex algebraic and lattice-theoretic machinery usually applied to represent logics. Motivated by that point of view, we define in this paper the category of intuitionistic abstract logics with stable logic maps as morphisms, and the category of implicative spectral spaces with spectral maps as morphisms. We show the equivalence of these categories and conclude that the larger categories of distributive abstract logics and distributive sober spaces are equivalent, too.

Abstract:Since categories are graphs with additional "structure", one should start from fuzzy graphs in order to define a theory of fuzzy categories. Thus is makes sense to introduce categories whose morphisms are associated with a plausibility degree that determines to what extend it is possible to "go" from one object to another one. These categories are called {\em fuzzy categories}. Of course, the basic properties of these categories are similar but not identical to their ordinary counterparts. Thus, it is necessary to introduce notion like fuzzy commutative diagrams, fuzzy initial and fuzzy terminal objects, etc.
