Abstract:A new preconditioned AOR iterative method is proposed. The comparion theorem between the new preconditioned AOR method and the classical AOR method is considered. Finally, a numerical experiment is used to show the effectiveness of the new method.

Abstract:In this paper,we discuss the convergence of a new preconditioned AOR iterative method for Z-matrices linear systems.We consider two different AOR-type splittings for the coefficient matrix of the preconditioned AOR iterative method.Furthermore,we obtain comparison theorems of the convergence rates between the corresponding AOR iterative method of the two splittings and the basic AOR iterative method respectively.Finally,we get the comparison results of the convergence rates between the corresponding AOR iterative methods of the two splittings.

We use the algorithm to show reconstruction of signals from weighted samples and also show that the general improved algorithm has better convergence rate than the existing one. Abstract:An efficient primal-dual interior-point algorithm using a new non-monotone line esearch filter method is presented for nonlinear constrained programming, which is widely applied in engineering optimization. The new non-monotone line search technique is introduced to lead to relaxed step acceptance conditions and improved convergence performance. It can also avoid the choice of the upper bound on the memory, which brings obvious disadvantages to traditional techniques. Under mild assumptions, the global convergence of the new non-monotone line search filter method is analysed, and fast local convergence is ensured by second order corrections. The proposed algorithm is applied to the classical alkylation process optimization problem and the results illustrate its effectiveness. Some comprehensive comparisons to existing methods are also presented.

Abstract:A comparison of arithmetic operations of two dynamic process optimization approaches called quasi-sequential approach and reduced Sequential Quadratic Programming (rSQP) simultaneous approach with respect to equality constrained optimization problems is presented. Through the detail comparison of arithmetic operations, it is concluded that the average iteration number within differential algebraic equations (DAEs) integration of quasi-sequential approach could be regarded as a criterion. One formula is given to calculate the threshold value of average iteration number. If the average iteration number is less than the threshold value, quasi-sequential approach takes advantage of rSQP simultaneous approach which is more suitable contrarily. Two optimal control problems are given to demonstrate the usage of threshold value. For optimal control problems whose objective is to stay near desired operating point, the iteration number is usually small. Therefore, quasi-sequential approach seems more suitable for such problems.
Nonlinear Structural Analysis Algorithm Based on the Null Space Basis

Abstract:Based on the basis of null space and M-P inverse theorem, a unified incremental solution formulae, expressed as the null space basis of the augmented matrix, were firstly formulated herein for the incremental equilibrium equation at the limit point and non-critical points. Three numerical analysis techniques, based on the M-P inverse, singular value decomposition (SVD) and pseudo up-triangular decomposition (PUTD), respectively, were developed to compute the null space basis for the augmented equilibrium matrix, as well as how to obtain the numerical incremental solution. Numerical implementations are presented. A specialized nonlinear analysis program were developed with Legend PⅡ300 in Matlab integrated development environment (IDE) using Matlab language. Finally, two classical numerical examples are used to verify the accuracy of the method aforementioned. Efficiency and accuracy, i.e. computation time and buckling load differences, have been compared in detail for various numerical approaches. The algorithm and program were proved to be efficient. This method can be used for medium scale engineering project.
Theory and Implementation of Pre-Filtered Equalizer

Abstract:A new equalizer called pre-filtered equalizer is presented. It comprises a pre-filter and an adaptive equalizer. With the efficient algorithm of correlation estimation, time delay and amplitude of all multipath have been known. Then the parameters of the pre-filter are calculated with the help of the algorithm of multipath separation. The aberrance is reduced after the received signal pass through the pre-filter. At last, the remainder of ISI(intersymbol interference) is compensated by the adaptive equalizer. As the result shows, pre-filtered equalizer has greatly improved performance compared with conventional equalizer, and it can compensate the subpath whose amplitude is equal to that of the mainpath.

Abstract:The GSOR iterative methods with two different preconditioners are presented.And show that the rate of convergence of the two preconditioned GSOR methods are both faster than that of basic GSOR method.This generalizes the results in the papers [1] and [2].Finally,a numerical example is given to illustrate the theorems.
A Novel Enhanced Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm for Global Optimization

Abstract:The arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) is based on the distribution character of the dominant arithmetic operators and imitates addition (A), subtraction (S), multiplication (M) and division (D) to find the global optimal solution in the entire search space. However, the basic AOA has some drawbacks of premature convergence, easily falls into a local optimal value, slow convergence rate, and low calculation precision. To improve the overall optimization ability and overcome the drawbacks of the basic AOA, an enhanced AOA (EAOA) based on the Levy variation and the differential sorting variation is proposed to solve the function optimization and the project optimization. The Levy variation increases population diversity, broadens the optimization space, enhances the global search ability and improves the calculation precision. The differential sorting variation filters out the optimal search agent, avoids search stagnation, enhances the local search ability and accelerates the convergence rate. The EAOA realizes complementary advantages of the Levy variation and the differential sorting variation to avoid falling into the local optimum and the premature convergence. The sixteen benchmark functions and five engineering design projects are applied to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the EAOA. The EAOA is compared with other algorithms by minimizing the fitness value, such as artificial bee colony, ant line optimizer, cuckoo search, dragongfly algorithm, moth-flame optimization, sine cosine algorithm, water wave optimization and arithmetic optimization algorithm. The experimental results show that the overall optimization ability of the EAOA is superior to that of other algorithms, the EAOA can effectively balance the exploration and the exploitation to obtain the best solution. In addition, the EAOA has a faster convergence rate, higher calculation precision and stronger stability.

Abstract:To develop an efficient robust optimal method for numerical solutions of inverse problems, a metaheuristic based on ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithms is proposed. In accordance to robust design specifications, the algorithm iterative procedures are redesigned, and the methodology and mechanism for reducing the heavy computational burdens associated with robust performance computations are introduced. To validate the feasibility and showcase the merits, of the proposed method, it is used to solve an engineering inverse problem with promising results.

Abstract:In this report, we present a versatile and efficient preconditioned Anderson acceleration (PAA) method for fixed-point iterations. The proposed framework offers flexibility in balancing convergence rates (linear, super-linear, or quadratic) and computational costs related to the Jacobian matrix. Our approach recovers various fixed-point iteration techniques, including Picard, Newton, and quasi-Newton iterations. The PAA method can be interpreted as employing Anderson acceleration (AA) as its own preconditioner or as an accelerator for quasi-Newton methods when their convergence is insufficient. Adaptable to a wide range of problems with differing degrees of nonlinearity and complexity, the method achieves improved convergence rates and robustness by incorporating suitable preconditioners. We test multiple preconditioning strategies on various problems and investigate a delayed update strategy for preconditioners to further reduce the computational costs.

Abstract:SummaryBased on the weak regular splitting of tensors, preconditioned technology has shown great advantages in solving tensor equations with nonsingular (strong) ‐tensors. In this article, we introduce H‐splitting and H‐compatible splitting and investigate the relationship between these different splittings and their convergence. Meanwhile, we also consider a preconditioned AOR iterative method for solving tensor equations with nonsingular ‐tensors. We prove its convergence and give a comparison result on the spectral radius of the iteration tensor for the case when is a nonsingular ‐tensor. Numerical examples are also given to illustrate our methods.
A VARIANT OF THE REFINED ARNOLDI METHOD FOR LARGE SCALE MATRIX EIGENPROBLEMS

Abstract:The refined Arnoldi method proposed by Jia is used for computing some eigen-pairs of large matrices. In contrast to the Arnoldi method, the fundamental dif-ference is that the refined method seeks certain refined Ritz vectors, which aredifferent from the Ritz vectors obtained by the Arnoldi method, from a projection space with minimal residuals to approximate the desired eigenvectors. In com-parison with the Ritz vectors, the refined Ritz vectors are guaranteed to converge theoretically and can converge much faster numerically. In this paper we propose to replace the Ritz values, obtained by the Arnoldi method with respect to a Krylovsubspace, by the ones obtained with respect to the subspace spanned by the refined Ritz vectors. We discuss how to compute these new approximations cheaply and reliably. Theoretical error bounds between the original Ritz values and the new Ritz values are established. Finally, we present a variant of the refined Arnoldi al-gorithm for an augmented Krylov subspace and discuss restarting issue. Numerical results confirm efficiency of the new algorithm.

Abstract:A new incomplete projections CT reconstruction method was proposed by considering the key points of iteration process. The limitations of two key points in iteration method were discussed. The new method was obtained by discussing the iteration process of the two methods, which was called bilateral optimization iteration reconstruction method. By providing more restrain equations of projection in iteration, the sinogram TVM process could optimize the ART process to obtain more accurate reconstruction results. And by providing more accurate initial value for iteration, the ART method could optimize the sinogram repairment by TVM process to obtain more accurate projection information as initial values. A series of numerical reconstruction experiments were conducted to validate the new method. The overall and detailed quality of model image reconstructed by new method was better than that of conventional methods. And the overall and detailed quality of actual experimental images reconstructed by the new method was also better than conventional methods.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the iterative solution of a class of complex symmetric linear systems and construct a preconditioned variant of the modified block product (PMBP) iteration method. The proposed method is established by applying the preconditioning technique to the MBP method presented recently. The convergence conditions, optimal iteration parameters, and corresponding optimal convergence factor of the PMBP iteration method are determined. Meanwhile, a practical way to choose the iteration parameters for the PMBP iteration method is proposed. Furthermore, comparisons between the PMBP iteration method and some existing ones verify that the PMBP iteration method owns faster convergence rate than some known ones. Finally, some numerical experiments are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and the superiority of the proposed PMBP method.

Abstract:Two innovations are presented to improve the orthogonal subspace iteration. Firstly, a refined strategy is proposed that replaces conventional Ritz vectors by refined Ritz vectors in subspace iteration. Each refined Ritz vector is chosen such that the norm of the residual formed with the Ritz value is minimized over the subspace involved, and it can be cheaply computed by solving a small problem. Secondly, a standard updating matrix, Ritz vector or Schur vector matrix, is replaced by a new one that is generated only by the refined Ritz vectors used to approximate the wanted eigenvectors. A combination of them yields a refined subspace iteration algorithm. A qualitative analysis is given for the refined algorithm, showing that it may be considerably more efficient than a conventional subspace iteration algorithm. When the subspace dimension is bigger than the number of the wanted eigenpairs, numerical examples show that the refined algorithm has a sharp superiority. Numerical comparisons are also drawn for the refined algorithm with the popular package ARPACK and an implicitly restarted version of the refined Arnoldi method. The algorithm is suited for computing a few dominant eigenpairs of large sparse matrices since the only action of a matrix A in question into the program is a subroutine to form the product A Q, where Q is a matrix having much less columns than rows. Abstract:The high peak‐to‐average power ratio (PAPR) is the main challenge of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Partial transmit sequence (PTS) is a useful approach to diminish the PAPR. Although the PTS approach significantly decreases the PAPR, it requires to explore all possible sequences of phase weighting factors. Hence, the computational cost exponentially increases with the number of divided subblocks. This paper proposes a novel PTS technique based on ant colony optimization (ACO) to diminish the high PAPR and computational cost of OFDM systems. By the new representation of phase factors as a graph, the improved ACO algorithm is combined with the PTS method to explore the optimal compound of the phase rotation factors. Simulation results represent that the proposed ACO‐based PTS approach significantly reduces the PAPR and improves the computational cost at the same time. A comparative analysis of the other meta‐heuristics shows that the ACO‐PTS approach outperforms the genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization, and gray wolf optimization in terms of reducing PAPR.

Abstract:The work is fourfold. First, a refined harmonic Rayleigh-Ritz procedure is proposed, some relationships are established between the refined harmonic Ritz vector and the harmonic Ritz vector, an a priori error bound is derived for the refined harmonic Ritz vector, and some properties are established on Rayleigh quotients and residual norms. Second, a resulting refined harmonic Arnoldi method is discussed, and how to compute the refined harmonic Ritz vectors cheaply and accurately is considered. Third, an explicitly restarted refined harmonic Arnoldi algorithm is developed over an augmented Krylov subspace. Finally, numerical examples are reported that compare the new algorithm with the implicitly restarted harmonic Arnoldi algorithm (IRHA) and the implicitly restarted refined harmonic Arnoldi algorithm (IRRHA). Numerical results confirm efficiency of the new algorithm.

Abstract:The Calderón preconditioner effectively improves the convergence of the iterative solution of surface integral equations (SIEs). This work presents an alternative way to apply the Calderón preconditioner to a finite-element boundary-integral system, as well as a twofold iterative solver where the finite-element subsystem and boundary-integral subsystem are preconditioned separately. In this approach, the finite-element domain can utilize second-order basis functions to reduce the number of unknowns required for scatterers with large dielectric constants. Numerical experiments are provided to compare the accuracy and convergence of the proposed method with the approach based on the Poincaré–Steklov (PS) operator.
