Abstract:Stereo vision is one of the most important methods to measure the distance passively. This paper presents a real-time stereo matching algorithm based on TMS320C64x DSP processor. Optimization is executed in two stages: first, good mapping between the stereo matching algorithm and DSP architecture is achieved by the well designed algorithm; then special turning according to the functional unit is performed. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective, which can achieve more than 30 freme/s for a 384×288 stereo pair.

Abstract:The coding and decoding algorithm of recommendation G.722.2 and the TMS320C6416 are described briefly.The design of hardware and software in realtime implementation of G.722.2 vocoder based on TMS320C6416 are given, and the software design optimization is summarized. The experiment results of real-time implementation are also presented.

Abstract:This paper proposes a System-on-Programmable- Chip (SoPC) architecture to implement a stereo matching algorithm based on the sum of absolute differences (SAD) in a FPGA chip which can provide 1396×1110 disparity maps at 30 fps speed. The hardware implementation involves a 32- bit Nios II microprocessor, memory interfaces and stereo matching algorithm circuit module. The stereo matching algorithm core is modeled by the Matlab-based DSP Builder. The system can process many different sizes of stereo pair images through a configuration interface. The maximum horizon resolution of stereo images is 2048.

Abstract:According to CCITT recommendation G.722 on 7 kHz Audio Coding, wideband speech is splitted into two equal subbands by QMF. The lower band is based on simplified coding standard G.729A, and the higher band is based on lower bit rate of G.729D standard. Thereby lower delay in wideband speech coding at 14.4 Kb/s can be realized.

Abstract:To reduce the computational amount and memory size of the HDTV(for DVB) audio decoder, the algorithm of sub-band synthesis filter has been optimized in this paper. Based on C-language simulation of the optimized decoder, fixed-point code has been converted from the floating-point code. This decoder can be realized in real-time on a fixed-point DSP, and it has a wide range of applications in HDTV source decoding and etc.

Abstract:In order to afford the reuse of DSP algorithm on different platforms, a DSP real-time implementation scheme of TI standard-compliant algorithm is presented. It defines a set of requirements for DSP algorithms. If followed, this standard allows the system integrators to quickly assemble production-quality systems from one or more such algorithms like that. Thus, this standard is intended to enable a rich COTS marketplace for DSP algorithm technology and to significantly reduce the time-to-market for new DSP-based products. A highly efficient standard-compliant implementation of G.723.1 on a 32-bit fixed-point TI's DSP chip, TMS320C6201 is presented to validate the feasibility of the scheme.

Abstract:An audio signal processing system based on DSP is introduced.The system adopts TI's low power consumption DSP TMS320VC5509A as the main processor,and TLV320AIC23 as the audio codec chip.Therefore,the system's hardware platform and software design are completed based on them,which can be used as a universal platform for other audio signal processing.The paper expounds in detail the method of interface that connects codec chip with DSP.At last,it provides an example of data transmission based on DMA interruption,which upgrades procession speed largely.

Abstract:The paper describes a DVB based HDTV audio decoder used in multi-channel extension and presents an improved algorithm for the synthesis filter bank. It is found that when the symmetry of coefficient and the similarity of the allocation tables, computational amount and memory size are reduced by more than 50%. DSP/BIOS operating system simplifies developing various DSP systems. This decoder can also be used in Digital Audio Broadcasting systems.

Abstract:The design and implementation of a new speech recognition system based on private automatic branch exchange (PABX) is described. By use of a developing board of a digital signal processor (TMS320C31), a speaker independent continuous speech recognition system is implemented on WINDOW platform of PC. The system uses small functional words and digits that compose different commands of telephone exchange and produce language models of the recognition system. The system can make telephone exchange by speech commands over telephone channels. The recognition system uses an improved token passing Viterbi algorithm, which gets good recognition accurate. An rejecting recognition algorithm is developed. In the command speech the digital recognition accuracy is over 98% and the digital string (<4 character) is over 91% without rejection and over 95% with 10% rejection of utterances.

Abstract:OpenH323 is an open source VoIP(Voice over IP)protocol stack. It supports H.323, SIP and other multimedia communication protocols and provides a good developing platform for multimedia applications. G.723.1 is an ITU standard for speech codecs which are mainly used for medium-rate and low-rate multimedia communication applications. At present, G.723.1 has been widely used in the IP phone systems. Based on the OpenH323 software-end, realizing the G.723.1 codec has very important application value. In this paper, the realization method of G.723.1 codec on the OpenH323 protocol stack is presented, and it can be extended to G.729 and other speech codecs.

Abstract:A toll-quality voice communication system is designed using the DSP core method with an ASIC integrating the functionality of a G.729A speech codec, adaptive echo cancellation and frame synchronization. The G.729A algorithm is optimized to reduce to computational complexity according to the architecture of the DSP core. The optimized G.729A speech codec was verified by all of the ITU test sequences. The normalized least mean square(NLMS) echo canceller with near end speech detector and residual echo suppresser conforms to ITU recommendation G.165. Furthermore, a frame synchronization module is incorporated to enable the ASIC to work without a frame synchronization signal.

Abstract:This paper puts forward an effective way to suppress acoustic feedback based on TI ′ s TMS320C6713 and using frequency shift.It adopts the Codec chip TLV320AIC23 to capture and play back speech signal,which can connect with DSP seamlessly.Then completes real-time implementation on DSP based on simulating and suppressing screaming in Matlab ideally.The result is also evaluated subjectively and objectively.It turns out that it can suppress the interference of the regenerative reverberation,enhance the amplification gain greatly and improve frequency response characteristics and sound articulation obviously.

Abstract:In this paper an optimized implementation of real-time MPEG4 encoder based on TMS320DM642 DSP of Texas Instruments, Inc. is presented. The optimization techniques include algorithm optimization and data memory access efficiency in order to reduce the complexity and improve the software parallelism. Currently, the encoder can deal with the CIF video sequence at about 25 f/s.

Abstract:This paper presents the design of a DSP-based real-time transcoder. Focusing on the reduction of computation complexity,the proposed H.264-to-H.263 transcoder makes the most of the side information and improves the universal cascaded architecture. By taking advantage of the characteristics of the TMS320DM642,the improved transcoder is optimized and realized on DSP as well as the traditional one. Experimental results indicate that the traditional H.264-to-H.263 transcoder could transcode 20 frames per second, while the proposed one could be up to 25 CIF frames per second with very limited degradation of the video quality.

Abstract:DSP TMS320VC5502 and the sampling chip TLV320AIC23 are used to compose an acoustic signal denoising system,and the whole structure and software flow control structure of the system are analyzed.The program infrastructure of audio signal sampling and processing is built based on DMA data transfer,double buffer switched and interrupt response mechanism under the control of DSP/ BIOS.A wavelet frequency band threshold denoising method based on multi-resolution analysis is presented.Real-time simulator of wavelet denoising algorithm is completed based on TDS5502EVM board and TDS560 simulator,and then the analysis and cancellation processed of speech signal within the high noise is implemented.A speech signal with noises tests the validity of the system.
