Abstract:Based on the historical analysis,this paper divides the historical process of the regional economic integration of Yangtze River delta into three phases which include,big Shanghai economic region,develop- ment of Pudong and globalization.It analyzes the structure and dynamics of regional economic integration in Yangtze River delta,from the perspective of times serial variations that range from factor endowment, industrial divide,institutional transition,organizational compatibility,district game to location condition. It discovers that there are two engines which cause the development of the regional economic integration in Yangtze River with the local decentralization in the process of reform,opening-up and modernization of China.One is the market power produced by the process of reform,opening-up and modernization of Chi- na,the other is the regional coordination mechanism governed by local government.Factor and Product mobility acted as the main Dependent Variables in the historical process of the regional economic integra- tion,while the other factors acted as the main independent variables which include the industrial divide and scale economy induced by industrial transfer and agglomeration,the geography problem from the spatial distance,the culture effect of social network and the institutional cost.

Abstract:The disintegration of China's tributary system during the latter half of the 19th centurymay have looked like the result of impact from the West.Yet there actually were internal causes of its collapse.From the perspective of identity and status,the main states of East Asia,whether in their perceptions of self or of others,all experienced the process of loss of identity to a renewal of identity,due to the dynastic indigenous changes from Ming to Qing unrelated to the West.The pressures from the undulations in 17th century East Asian international relations had come from changes in China's domestic political power.Even though in the end the Qing dynasty became the accepted power and restored the traditional East Asian tributary system,it only concealed the intrinsic impetus for tremendous changes in the future for East Asia.Japan and Korea after that no longer honored this system.Those who were forced to accept Manchurian rule made the opposition of the Qing and restoration of the Ming an underlying political pursuit.

Abstract:It has been proved by the world's history of civilization that no civilization has ever rejected the influx of foreign ones and that each and every civilization has simply absorbed foreign ones into their own so as to preserve their own advanced features.The ancient Greek civilization is the best example of civilization amalgamation.The Greek cultural genes found in the Western Civilization had a great impact on contemporary China,Japan and India.This was also a great proof of the integration of Eastern and Western civilizations in the above mentioned way.With the amalgamation of different genes being the contributing factor to promote different civilizations and retain their own characteristics,it has been proven that China has promoted its own civilization and simultaneously absorbed the oncoming civilizations.Now it has been acknowledged on all hands that in the previous years of history,Chinese civilization has been a great motivating force to help evolve other civilizations in most countries of the world,particularly in the Arab world,Africa and Europe.However in this process of exchange,some discordant and disagreeable factors may interfere with the already smooth running features of the existing society,for example,political interference,military intervention and the spread of narcotics.The same incident was witnessed when the Western Eight-Nation Allied Army invaded China and opium was introduced and imported in large quantities to mar the very essence of Chinese civilization.This inhumane,callous and atrocious attitude on the part of the Westerners brought a bad name to the so-called benefactors of humanity.But this forcible influx of the eight-power expeditionary force into China with firearms actually created a big storm on the part of the revolutionary Chinese which marked the beginning of modern China.The outbreak of the 1911 Revolution can be regarded as the first fruit born by seeds of Western culture,which overthrew the rule of the autocratic,imperial power of Qing Dynasty and resulted in the development of Republic of China.Also,the New Cultural Movement and the May 4th Movement were the results of the introduction of Western culture into China.The intercommunication of Eastern and Western civilizations prove that different cultures as a common heritage of mankind provide a source for mutual respect,understanding,reference,assimilation and amalgamation,and that they play an important role in building a harmonious world.

Abstract:The Confucianism in East Asia has been prevailing in the 21st Century.This paper raises some issues about the significance and problems of the regional history research method thriving in the late 20th Century.It points out it is necessary to examine Chinese thoughts in the light of East Asia region.It is found that Chinese thoughts has a multi-form in East Asia and the Confucianism in this region involves multi-cultural features.It concludes that to research the history of Chinese Confucianism in East Asia could help us to avoid the China-centrism which the past research tended to sink in.

Abstract:East Asia has recently witnessed the rise of a new wave of nationalism triggered by territorial disputes that involve China,Japan,South Korea,Vietnam and the Philippines.Behind the keen competition over territorial and maritime rights is the pursuit of dignity and international status by these nations.The international and domestic sources of this wave of nationalism are the changing regional power structure due to the rise of China as well as a new form of government-public interactions.To effectively address the impact of rising nationalism upon its relations with neighboring countries,China should cultivate enlightened views of national interests and sober attitude on foreign relations among its own people,and promote the establishment of regional order based on mutual benefit and respect.

Abstract:Cultural differences generally refer to differences that arise due to regional similarities and differences or the unique cultures of people in different places. Such differences can be beneficial to a certain extent, but at the same time they can also be fraught with dangers and challenges. With the globalisation of the economy, more and more people have the opportunity to work in multinational companies or in cross-cultural teams, which provides more opportunities for people in the workplace to learn and grow, and increases their competitiveness and market value, but it can also affect the efficiency and effectiveness of communication, cooperation, decision-making and innovation. In order to explore this, the GLOBAL project was chosen as an entry point to analyse workplace behaviour in China and Japan, exploring the difficulties and ways of coping with cultural differences in the Chinese and Japanese workplace, based on the dimensions of contextual culture and event perceptions respectively.

Abstract:The relationships among the four countries and six sides in Eastern Asia—— Sino-Japan, Sino-America, Sino-Russia, Japan-America, Japan-Russia, and Russia-America——are not determined by any individual but by common interests and internal and external contradictions involved. Meanwhile the judgement of situation and policy-making of any country also affect the relationships among all the countries. Abstract:Regional culture best embodies a featured cultural type within a space,manifested by dialect,food and drink,resident,weddings,funerals,festivals and folk beliefs.Its origin owes grestly to such factors as geographical environment,migration,political power,administrative division,ethnic groups,religion,and outside cultures.Regional culture has enriched the Chinese culture as a whole and it embodies the vitality of the Chinese culture.The research and development of regional culture are conducive to the preservation and continuity of traditional Chinese culture.With the progress in production,transportation,and communication technology,and with the acceleration of population mobility,some regional cultures tend to be integrated into the larger cultural context.Peope used to protect regional cultures passively.Now it is important to preserve them in a positive way so that they will not die out completely.It is urgent to preserve as many ancient relics as possible,not because we wish to go back to the ancient time someday but because we can memorize and cherish ancient civilizations.

Abstract:Confucianism emerged during significant social and political upheaval in ancient China, known as the Eastern Zhou period (770256 BCE). The teachings of Confucius (Kong Fuzi or Kongzi) laid the foundation for this philosophical tradition, emphasizing moral values, proper conduct, and cultivating virtues. Confucianism, a philosophical and ethical system originating from ancient China, has exerted a profound influence not only within China but also across East Asia. Since its inception, Confucianism has undergone various transformations and adaptations, influenced by historical events, cultural exchanges, and geographical conditions. The study investigates the geographical evolution of Confucian culture in East Asia to understand its regional dynamics over time better. This research aims to unravel the complex interplay between geographical factors and the development of Confucian thought in diverse regional contexts in East Asia. By adopting a multidisciplinary approach, drawing on fields such as history, geography, anthropology, and philosophy, this study demonstrates that geographical features, such as terrain, climate, and proximity to other cultures, have shaped the adaptation and transformation of Confucianism in different regions. Additionally, the research examines how Confucian values and practices have been integrated into local cultures and societies, exploring the variations and commonalities across various geographical settings. Ultimately, this investigation contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamic relationship between geography and cultural evolution, with implications for our understanding of Confucianism's enduring significance globally.

Abstract:Northeast Asia is both a geographical and cultural region,where Confucianism is deeply rooted and became the core element of their culture traditions.From the mid-19th century,China,Japan and South Korea's education have undergone tremendous changes under the impact of the western culture.From the establishment of modern educational systems,to the development of education during the period of reconstruction after World War II and then to the educational reforms since the 1970s,western culture was a significant influencing strength in the three countries.But,the national cultural traditions exerted influence potentially or apparently in the past hundred years of educational reforms.Traditional culture determines the educational concept as well as the contents.The educational changes in Northeast Asia have shown that,in the era of globalization,although educational and cultural exchanges become more extensive and in-depth,but the influences of traditional culture are inescapable in educational reforms for any country.

Abstract:Oriental cultural identity implies the validity of Chinese cultural position,As it stands,establis- hing Chinese cultural identity is in urgent need and it means not merely the development of economy,but also the development of culture as a whole.There must be an exhaustion of the structural balance of inter- nal force of China if the development of economy is at the expense of culture.Two principles should be ad- hered to:on the one hand,traditional culture should be developed and inspired in a vigorous and produc- tive way,on the other hand,the durative culture"transporting"should be emphasized in order to reduce the cultural misunderstanding between the East and the West and to achieve the balance between the develop- ment of culture and the development of economy.Globalization is not unification.Oriental cultural identity stands out against this mythology.China should claim and restate its cultural position.

Abstract:Chinese-Japanese relations have become increasingly tense in recent years. It might be concluded superficially that the recent tensions originated from the historical issues and the bilateral sovereignty disputes over some islands. However, these tensions are deeply rooted in the structural contradictions of these bilateral relations, such as the conflicting national strategies of China and Japan, the relative balance of power between them, and the discrepancy of their interests in their games against the background of macro transition of the overall strategic pattern of the Asia-Pacific region. Furthermore, the U.S. strategic dilemma in this gaming process adds destabilizing factors to the development of China-Japan bilateral relations. The outcomes of the China-Japan tensions not only affect the rise and fall of the relative strengths of these two countries, but also have major influences over the general strategic arrangements of East Asia and the whole Asia-Pacific. Therefore, it is very meaningful to probe the deep-rooted causes of the Chinese-Japanese conflicts and to observe current China-Japan relations from the strategic perspective because some solutions might be discoverd in this way.

Abstract:Having gone through the vicissitudes of a history of thousands of years, the Chinese culture was firmly established on the basis of patriarchal clan system and small-scale farming economy, with aesthetic aspiration as its character -until recent times. When hit hard by western military forces, the Chinese people looked back on their own tradition with a hurt pride.
