Abstract:By calling into question the implicit structural rules that are taken for granted in classical logic, substructural logics have brought to the fore new forms of reasoning with applications in many interdisciplinary areas of interest. Modalities, in the substructural setting, provide the tools to control and finetune the logical resource management. The focus of the workshop is on applications in the areas of interest to the ESSLLI community, in particular logical approaches to natural language syntax and semantics and the dynamics of reasoning. The workshop is held with the support of the Horizon 2020 MSCA-Rise project MOSAIC .

Abstract:The International Colloquium “Communication in the Age of Technological Challenges” brought together scholars from Europe and the Americas in Buenos Aires on May 9th, 2023, in a blended format. The event aimed to facilitate interdisciplinary discussions on the influence of technology on communication within academic fields. With a focus on epistemological, anthropological, and ethical challenges, experts in the fields of sociology, linguistics, media studies, and law explored the implications of technological innovations like big data, machine learning, and AI. The colloquium was jointly hosted by the Universidad de Flores in Argentina and the University of Warsaw in Poland. The program featured two panel discussions and a keynote speech. The first panel examined technological challenges from an international legal perspective, covering topics such as human rights, aviation communication testing, and international law’s response to ASAT weapons. The keynote speech by Dr. Maria Cristina Paganoni delved into the discursive aspects of big data. The second panel focused on technological challenges in social sciences, including sociology of law, media studies, and higher education. Presentations in Spanish, English, and Portuguese showcased research on topics such as AI algorithms in legal decisions, technology integration in teaching practices, online echo chambers, and the societal impact of technological innovations. The colloquium provided a platform for interdisciplinary collaboration, enabling scholars to identify common concerns and emphasizing the significance of interdisciplinary approaches to address technology-related challenges.

Abstract:During the 2023 Padua Days on Muscle and Mobility Medicine the 2024 meeting was scheduled from 28 February to 2 March 2024 (2024Pdm3). During autumn 2023 the program was expanded with Scientific Sessions which will take place over five days (in 2024 this includes February 29), starting from the afternoon of 27 February 2024 in the Conference Rooms of the Hotel Petrarca, Thermae of Euganean Hills (Padua), Italy. As per consolidated tradition, the second day will take place in Padua, for the occasion in the Sala San Luca of the Monastery of Santa Giustina in Prato della Valle, Padua, Italy. Confirming the attractiveness of the Padua Days on Muscle and Mobility Medicine, over 100 titles were accepted until 15 December 2023 (many more than expected), forcing the organization of parallel sessions on both 1 and 2 March 2024. The five days will include lectures and oral presentations of scientists and clinicians from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Switzerland, UK and USA. Only Australia, China, India and Japan are missing from this edition. But we are confident that authors from those countries who publish articles in the PAGEpress: European Journal of Translational Myology (EJTM: 2022 ESCI Clarivate's Impact Factor: 2.2; SCOPUS Cite Score: 3.2) will decide to join us in the coming years. Together with the program established by 31 January 2024, the abstracts will circulate during the meeting only in the electronic version of the EJTM Issue 34 (1) 2024. Abstract:Type theories, logical frameworks and meta-languages form a common foundation for designing, implementing, and reasoning about formal languages and their semantics. They are central to the design of modern programming languages, certified software, and domain specific logics. More generally, they continue to influence applications in many areas in mathematics, logic and computer science. The Logical Frameworks and Meta-languages: Theory and Practice workshop aims to bring together designers, implementers, and practitioners working on these areas, and in particular about: the automation and implementation of the meta-theory of programming languages and related calculi; the design of proof assistants, automated theorem provers, and formal digital libraries building upon logical framework technology; theoretical and practical issues concerning the encoding of variable binding and fresh name generation, especially the representation of, and reasoning about, datatypes defined from binding signatures; case studies of meta-programming, and the mechanization of the (meta) theory of descriptions of programming languages and other calculi. This volume contains the final and revised versions of the papers presented at LFMTP 2010, which was held on July 14, 2010 in Edinburgh (UK). LFMTP 2010 was part of the Federated Logic Conference (FLoC 2010), and affilated with LICS 2010.

Abstract:The 2024 2nd International Conference on Computer, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (CMLAI 2024) had been held during March 09-10, 2024 in San Francisco, USA. CMLAI 2024 is an international forum devoted specifically to facilitate synergies in research and development in the areas of computer science, machine learning, neural networks, algorithm design, and artificial intelligence. It provides the communication platform for those who are leading experts and scholars from around the world. The development of artificial intelligence and their corresponding technologies and industries has also been regarded as "national development strategy" for the world's leading countries and gradually developed into a new "trump card" in the game between countries. This conference was attended by over 100 researchers, scholars, academic and industry experts from many countries. During the two-day conference, 4 keynote speeches with topics on cloud computing, machine learning, neural networks, and artificial intelligence were delivered. And 36 oral and invited presentations were presented and discussed in-depth in 4 technical sessions, with interactive communication among the attendees. Abstract:This volume constitutes the proceedings of the First International Workshop on Rewriting Logic, held at the Asilomar Conference Center, Pacific Grove, California, Sept. 2-6, 1996. The three invited papers by Narciso Marti-Oliet, Ugo Montanari, and Martin Wirsing, and seventeen contributed papers selected by the Program Committee give a rich view of the latest developments and research directions in the field of rewriting logic and its various applications to computing. Besides work on models and on concurrency aspects, there are several papers describing the different rewriting logic languages developed so far in Europe and the U.S., as well as a paper on semantic foundations for the Cafe language in Japan. There are also several papers on logical and metalogical specification; on reflection and strategies; on applications to object-oriented design, specification and programming; and on applications to contraint solving, to real-time systems, and to discrete event simulation. In addition to the papers, the workshop placed strong emphasis on facilitating in-depth discussion of the topics by allowing ample time for the discussion of each paper, and by including five panel discussions and a tutorial.
