Abstract:We develop methods for determining key properties (simplicity and the dimension of radical) of flip subalgebras in Matsuo algebras. These are interesting classes of commutative non-associative algebras that were introduced within the broader paradigm of axial algebras.

Abstract:We develop the theory of topological radicals in Banach Lie algebras, consider various ways of constructing such radicals and study a family of (pre)radicals related to subalgebras and ideals of finite codimension in Banach Lie algebras. It extends to the infinite-dimensional case many results of the well known Frattini theory of Lie algebras.

Abstract:In this paper, we pursue three aims. The first one is to apply Amitsur's relations and radicals theory to the study of the lattices of closed two-sided ideals of C*-algebras A . We show that many new and many well-known results about C*-algebras follow naturally from this approach. To use "relation-radical" approach, we consider various subclasses of the class of all C*-algebras, which we call C*-properties, as they often linked to some properties of C*-algebras. Abstract:We construct the lower radical class and the semisimple closure for a given class using class operators and detail some of the properties of these operators and their interplay with the operators already used in radical theory. The setting is the class of algebras introduced by Puczy lowski which ensures the results hold in groups, multi-operator groups such as rings, as well as loops and hoops.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the following non-linear generalization of the classical Sylvester-Gallai theorem. Let $\mathbb{K}$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $0$, and $\mathcal{F}=\{F_1,\cdots,F_m\} \subset \mathbb{K}[x_1,\cdots,x_N]$ be a set of irreducible homogeneous polynomials of degree at most $d$ such that $F_i$ is not a scalar multiple of $F_j$ for $i\neq j$. Suppose that for any two distinct $F_i,F_j\in \mathcal{F}$, there is $k\neq i,j$ such that $F_k\in \mathrm{rad}(F_i,F_j)$. We prove that such radical SG configurations must be low dimensional. More precisely, we show that there exists a function $\lambda : \mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{N}$, independent of $\mathbb{K},N$ and $m$, such that any such configuration $\mathcal{F}$ must satisfy $$ \dim (\mathrm{span}_{\mathbb{K}}{\mathcal{F}}) \leq \lambda(d). $$ Our result confirms a conjecture of Gupta [Gup14, Conjecture 2] and generalizes the quadratic and cubic Sylvester-Gallai theorems of [S20,OS22]. Our result takes us one step closer towards the first deterministic polynomial time algorithm for the Polynomial Identity Testing (PIT) problem for depth-4 circuits of bounded top and bottom fanins. Our result, when combined with the Stillman uniformity type results of [AH20a,DLL19,ESS21], yields uniform bounds for several algebraic invariants such as projective dimension, Betti numbers and Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity of ideals generated by radical SG configurations.

Characterization of Left Artinian Algebras Through Pseudo Path Algebras

Abstract:Abstract In this paper, using pseudo path algebras, we generalize Gabriel's Theorem on elementary algebras to left Artinian algebras over a field k when the quotient algebra can be lifted by a radical. Our particular interest is when the dimension of the quotient algebra determined by the nth Hochschild cohomology is less than 2 (for example, when k is finite or char k = 0). Using generalized path algebras, a generalization of Gabriel's Theorem is given for finite dimensional algebras with 2-nilpotent radicals which is splitting over its radical. As a tool, the so-called pseudo path algebra is introduced as a new generalization of path algebras, whose quotient by ken is a generalized path algebra (see Fact 2.6). The main result is that (i) for a left Artinian k–algebra A and r = r(A) the radical of A. if the quotient algebra A/r can be lifted then A ≅ PSEk (Δ, , ρ) with Js ⊂ (ρ) ⊂ J for some s (Theorem 3.2); (ii) If A is a finite dimensional k–algebra with 2-nilpotent radical and the quotient by radical can be lifted, then A ≅ k(Δ, , ρ) with 2 ⊂ (ρ) ⊂ 2 + ∩ ker (Theorem 4.2), where Δ is the quiver of A and ρ is a set of relations. For all the cases we discuss in this paper, we prove the uniqueness of such quivers Δ and the generalized path algebras/pseudo path algebras satisfying the isomorphisms when the ideals generated by the relations are admissible (see Theorem 3.5 and 4.4).

Abstract:Here we announce the construction and properties of a big commutative subalgebra of the Kirillov algebra attached to a finite dimensional irreducible representation of a complex semisimple Lie group. They are commutative finite flat algebras over the cohomology of the classifying space of the group. They are isomorphic with the equivariant intersection cohomology of affine Schubert varieties, endowing them with a new ring structure. Study of the finer aspects of the structure of the big algebras will also furnish the stalks of the intersection cohomology with ring structure, thus ringifying Lusztig's q-weight multiplicity polynomials i.e. affine Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials.

Radical subgroups of finite reductive groups

Abstract:Radical subgroups play an important role in both finite group theory and representation theory. This is the first of a series of papers of ours in classifying radical $p$-subgroups of finite reductive groups and in verifying the inductive blockwise Alperin weight condition for them, contributing to the program of proving the Alperin weight conjecture by verifying its inductive condition for finite simple groups. In this paper we present a uniform method of classifying radical subgroups of finite reductive groups. As applications, we investigate the inductive blockwise Alperin weight condition for classical groups, as well as groups of type $\bf F_4$.

Abstract:We study the behaviour of the Igusa-Todorov functions for radical square zero algebras. We show that the left and the right $\phi$-dimensions coincide, in this case. Some general results are given, but we concentrate more in the radical square zero algebras. Our study is based on two notions of hearth and member of a quiver $Q$. We give some bounds for the $\phi$ and the $\psi$-dimensions and we describe the algebras for which the bound of $\psi$ is obtained. We also exhibit modules for which the $\phi$-dimension is realised.

Abstract:In this paper we study the concept of radical factorization in the context of abstract ideal theory in order to obtain a unified approach to the theory of factorization into radical ideals and elements in the literature of commutative rings, monoids and ideal systems. Using this approach we derive new characterizations of classes of rings whose ideals are a product of radical ideals, and we obtain also similar characterizations for classes of ideal systems in monoids and star ideals in integral domains.

Abstract:Let $\Lambda$ be an artin algebra and $\mathcal{C}$ be a functorially finite subcategory of mod$\Lambda$ which contains $\Lambda$ or $D\Lambda$. We use the concept of the infinite radical of $\mathcal{C}$ and show that $\mathcal{C}$ has an additive generator if and only if rad$^\infty_{\mathcal{C}}$ vanishes. In this case we describe the morphisms in powers of the radical of $\mathcal{C}$ in terms of its irreducible morphisms. Moreover, under a mild assumption, we prove that $\mathcal{C}$ is of finite representation type if and only if any family of monomorphisms (epimorphisms) between indecomposable objects in $\mathcal{C}$ is noetherian (conoetherian). Also, by using injective envelopes, projective covers, left $\mathcal{C}$-approximations and right $\mathcal{C}$-approximations of simple $\Lambda$-modules, we give other criteria to describe whether $\mathcal{C}$ is of finite representation type. In addition, we give a nilpotency index of the radical of $\mathcal{C}$ which is independent from the maximal length of indecomposable $\Lambda$-modules in $\mathcal{C}$.

Abstract:We construct the $H$-von Neumann regular radical for $H$-module algebras and show that it is an $H$-radical property. We obtain that the Jacobson radical of twisted graded algebra is a graded ideal. For twisted $H$-module algebra $R$, we also show that $r_{j}(R#_\sigma H)= r_{Hj}(R)#_\sigma H$ and the Jacobson radical of $R$ is stable, when $k$ is an algebraically closed field or there exists an algebraic closure $F$ of $k$ such that $r_j(R \otimes F) = r_j(R) \otimes F$, where $H$ is a finite-dimensional, semisimple, cosemisimple, commutative or cocommutative Hopf algebra over $k$. In particular, we answer two questions J.R.Fisher asked.

Abstract:The class of algebras of Jordan type $\eta$ was introduced by Hall, Rehren and Shpectorov in 2015 within the much broader class of axial algebras. Algebras of Jordan type are commutative algebras $A$ over a field of characteristic not $2$, generated by primitive idempotents, called axes, whose adjoint action on $A$ has minimal polynomial dividing $(x-1)x(x-\eta)$ and where multiplication of eigenvectors follows the rules similar to the Peirce decomposition in Jordan algebras.

Abstract:Let $\mfp(d)$ be a standard parabolic subalgebra of $\mfsl_{n+1}(K)$ and $\mfu$ be the corresponding nilradical defined over an algebraically closed field $K$ of characteristic $p>0$. We construct a finite connected quiver $Q(d)$, through which we provide a combinatorial characterization of the centralizer $c_{\mfu}(x(d))$ of the Richardson element $x(d)$. We specifically focus on the centralizer when the levi factor of $\mfp(d)$ is determined by either one or two simple roots. This allows us to demonstrate that, under certain mild restrictions, the saturation rank of $\mfu$ equals the semisimple rank of the algebraic $K$-group $\SL_{n+1}(K)$.

Abstract:We classify self-injective radical cube zero algebras with respect to whether they satisfy certain finite generation conditions sufficient to have a fruitful theory of support varieties defined via Hochschild cohomology in the vein of (Erdmann et al, 2004) and (Snashall and Solberg, 2004). Using skew group algebras and Linckelmann's notion of separable equivalence, we obtain results that complement the existing partial classification of (Said, 2015) and complete the classification begun in (Erdmann and Solberg, 2011) and (Said, 2015) up to assumptions on the characteristic of the field.

Maximal amenability of the radial subalgebra in free quantum group factors

Abstract:We show that the radial MASA in the orthogonal free quantum group algebra L(FO_N) is maximal amenable if N is large enough, using the Asymptotic Orthogonality Property. This relies on a detailed study of the corresponding bimodule, for which we construct in particular a quantum analogue of Rădulescu's basis. As a byproduct we also obtain the value of the Pukánszky invariant for this MASA.

On the stable radical of the module category for special biserial algebras

Abstract:Suppose $\Lambda$ is a special biserial algebra over an algebraically closed field. Schröer showed that if $\Lambda$ is domestic then the radical of the category of finitely generated (left) $\Lambda$-modules is nilpotent, and the least ordinal, denoted $\mathrm{st}(\Lambda)$, where the decreasing sequence of powers of the radical stabilizes satisfies $\mathrm{st}(\Lambda)<\omega^2$. With Gupta and Sardar, the third author conjectured that if $\Lambda$ has at least one band then $\omega\le\mathrm{st}(\Lambda)<\omega^2$ even when $\Lambda$ is non-domestic. In this paper we settle this conjecture in the affirmative. We also describe an algorithm to compute $\mathrm{st}(\Lambda)$ up to a finite error. We also show that for each $\omega\leq\alpha<\omega^2$ there is a finite-dimensional tame representation type algebra $\Gamma$ with $\mathrm{st}(\Gamma)=\alpha$.
