Abstract:The aim of this paper is to determine the conversion accuracy of the Danisense DC200IF (Danisense A/S, Taastrup, Denmark) wideband current transducer for its possible application to test electromagnetic compatibility requirements of the standards IEC 61000-3-2 and IEC 61000-3-12 with the digital power meter Yokogawa WT5000 (Yokogawa Electric Corporation, Tokyo, Japan). To obtain this goal for distorted current of main frequency equal to 50 Hz and in the frequencies range of higher harmonics from 100 Hz to 2500 Hz its amplitude error and phase shift are evaluated. Moreover, the measurable level of higher harmonics with the rated accuracy of the used precision power analyzer is also investigated. Finally, the measuring system is applied to determine the RMS values of current harmonics produced by the audio power amplifier in order to assess its compliance with the standard IEC 61000-3-12.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The main objective of this paper is to evaluate the conversion accuracy of the Danisense DC200IF broadband current transformer to determine its suitability for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing according to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards 61000-3-2 and 61000-3-12. Specifically, the research includes: 1. **Evaluation Scope**: The study focuses on the amplitude error and phase shift of the 50Hz fundamental current and its harmonics ranging from 100Hz to 2500Hz. 2. **Measurement Tools**: The Yokogawa WT5000 precision power analyzer is used as the primary measuring instrument to assess the performance of the current transformer. 3. **Evaluation Parameters**: - Amplitude Error: Used to measure the accuracy of the current transformer when measuring distorted currents. - Phase Shift: Used to evaluate the potential phase differences introduced by the current transformer during the conversion process. 4. **Experimental Design**: The study employed three different test schemes to simulate various operating conditions, including individual harmonic currents, harmonic current emission limits based on device category A, and distorted currents containing multiple harmonics. 5. **Application Examples**: The paper also demonstrates how to use the current transformer to evaluate the current harmonics produced by an audio power amplifier to check its compliance with the requirements of the IEC 61000-3-12 standard. In summary, through a series of detailed experiments and data analysis, the study aims to verify whether the Danisense DC200IF broadband current transformer can accurately convert distorted currents over a wide frequency range and meet the stringent requirements of EMC testing.
