Abstract:We generalize our theorems in "Mirror Principle I" to a class of balloon manifolds. Many of the results are proved for convex projective manifolds. In a subsequent paper, Mirror Principle III, we will extend the results to projective manifolds without the convexity assumption.

Abstract:We consider noncompact open $SL(2, \mathbb{C})$ spin chain and construct eigenfunctions of $B$-element of monodromy matrix for the simplest case of the chain with one site. The reflection operator appearing in this construction can be used to express eigenfunction for $n$ sites in terms of the eigenfunction for $n-1$ sites, this general result is briefly announced. We prove orthogonality and completeness of constructed eigenfunctions in the case of one site, express them in terms of the hypergeometric function of the complex field and derive the equation for the reflection operator with the general $SL(2,\mathbb{C})$-invariant $\mathbb{R}$-operator.

Abstract:It is known that a real analytic CR function f on a real analytic, generic submanifold M in C^N can be holomorphically extended. A stronger result on a finite type, real analytic, generic submanifold M is found in which we assume f a continuous CR function with real analytic imaginary part Im(f). The idea is contained in a general Schwarz Reflection Principle in one complex variable.

Abstract:In this work we consider some problems about a reflected graph map germ $f$ from $(\mathbb{C}^n,0)$ to $(\mathbb{C}^{n+1},0)$. A reflected graph map is a particular case of a reflection map, which is defined using an embedding of $\mathbb{C}^n$ in $\mathbb{C}^{p}$ and then applying the action of a reflection group $G$ on $\mathbb{C}^{p}$. In this work, we present a description of the presentation matrix of $f_*{\cal O}_n$ as an ${\cal O}_{n+1}$-module via $f$ in terms of the action of the associated reflection group $G$. We also give a description for a defining equation of the image of $f$ in terms of the action of $G$. Finally, we present an upper (and also a lower) bound for the multiplicity of the image of $f$ and some applications.

Mirror Symmetry for Special Nilpotent Orbit Closures

Abstract:Motivated by geometric Langlands, we initiate a program to study the mirror symmetry between nilpotent orbit closures of a semisimple Lie algebra and those of its Langlands dual. The most interesting case is $B_n$ via $C_n$. Classically, there is a famous Springer duality between special orbits. Therefore, it is natural to speculate that the mirror symmetry we seek may coincide with Springer duality in the context of special orbits. Unfortunately, such a naive statement fails. To remedy the situation, we propose a conjecture which asserts the mirror symmetry for certain parabolic/induced covers of special orbits. Then, we prove the conjecture for Richardson orbits and obtain certain partial results in general. In the process, we reveal some very interesting and yet subtle structures of these finite covers, which are related to Lusztig's canonical quotients of special nilpotent orbits. For example, there is a mysterious asymmetry in the footprint or range of degrees of these finite covers. Finally, we provide two examples to show that the mirror symmetry fails outside the footprint.
Reflection Maps Associated with Involutions and Factorization Problems, and Their Poisson Geometry

Abstract:The study of the set-theoretic solutions of the reflection equation, also known as reflection maps, is closely related to that of the Yang-Baxter maps. In this work, we construct reflection maps on various geometrical objects, associated with factorization problems on rational loop groups and involutions. We show that such reflection maps are smoothly conjugate to the composite of permutation maps, with corresponding reduced Yang-Baxter maps. In the case when the reduced Yang-Baxter maps are independent of parameters, the latter are just braiding operators. We also study the symplectic and Poisson geometry of such reflection maps. In a special case, the factorization problems are associated with the collision of N-solitons of the n-Manakov system with a boundary, and in this context the N-body polarization reflection map is a symplectomorphism.

Abstract:We prove general reflection positivity results for both scalar fields and Dirac fields on a Riemannian manifold, and comment on applications to quantum field theory. As another application, we prove the inequality $C_D \leq C_N$ between Dirichlet and Neumann covariance operators on a manifold with a reflection.

Abstract:The paper continues the author's research in the problem of quantitative investigation of basic curvelinear quasiinvariants of quasiconformal curves. It concerns polygons with infinite number of vertices and provides various distortion estimates in terms of intrinsic geometric characteristics of polygons. In particular, this implies the coarse upper and lower estimates for the Grunsky and Teichmuller norms of a conformal map of the disk onto any piecewise $C^{1+}$-smooth bounded quasicircle.

Abstract:We consider the so-called generalized Harish-Chandra morphism, taking the center of the enveloping algebra U(gl(N)) to the commutative algebra generated by eigenvalues of the generating matrix of this algebra, and generalize this construction to Reflection Equation algebras. To this end we introduce the eigenvalues of the generating matrix of the Reflection Equation algebra (modified or not), corresponding to a skew-invertible Hecke symmetry and define the generalized Harish-Chandra morphism in a similar way. We use this map in order to introduce quantum analogs of the so-called weight systems.

Reflection Positivity and Chern-Simons Functional Integrals

Abstract:We show that a mathematical version of the formal Chern-Simons functional integral of Witten for manifolds equipped with a reflection may be constructed in terms of a reflection positive functional, associated to the quadratic term in the Chern-Simons Lagrangian, on an algebra of functions on a Banach space ${\bf A}$ of connections on the underlying 3-manifold. This construction yields a Hilbert space associated to a surface preserved by the reflection. A version of the cubic Bosonic interaction term in the Chern-Simons Lagrangian gives a self-adjoint operator on this Hilbert space, and by exponentiation, a unitary one parameter subgroup of operators. The vacuum expectation value of this one parameter subgroup is combined with an additional term associated to the ghost fields and their interaction, and an appropriate weak limit gives a partition function for the quantum field theory. This construction is nonperturbative. The theory is finite and does not require renormalization, as may be expected from perturbation theory. It is natural to ask whether the resulting partition function is related to the manifold invariants of Witten and Reshetikhin-Turaev, or whether a more elaborate construction may be needed.

Abstract:In this work we consider open $SL(2, \mathbb{R})$ spin chain, mainly the simplest case of one particle. Eigenfunctions of the model can be constructed using the so-called reflection operator. We obtain several representations of this operator and show its relation to the hypergeometric function. Besides, we prove orthogonality and completeness of one-particle eigenfunctions and connect them to the index hypergeometric transform. Finally, we briefly state the formula for the eigenfunctions in many-particle case.

Reflectionless Dirac operators and canonical systems

Abstract:We study canonical systems that are reflectionless on an open set. In this situation, the two half line $m$ functions are holomorphic continuations of each other and may thus be combined into a single holomorphic function. This idea was explored in [11], and we continue these investigations here. We focus on Dirac operators and especially their interplay with canonical systems, and we provide a more general and abstract framework.

Abstract:We present the ‘Heisenberg picture’ of the reflection algebra by explicitly constructing the boundary Yangian symmetry of an AdS/CFT superstring which ends on a boundary with non-trivial degrees of freedom and which preserves the full bulk Lie symmetry algebra. We also consider the spectrum of bulk and boundary states and some automorphisms of the underlying algebras.

Abstract:Reflection positivity constitutes an integral prerequisite in the Osterwalder-Schrader reconstruction theorem which relates quantum field theories defined on Euclidean space to their Lorentzian signature counterparts. In this work we rigorously prove the violation of reflection positivity in a large class of free scalar fields with a rational propagator. This covers in particular higher-derivative theories where the propagator admits a partial fraction decomposition as well as degenerate cases including e.g. p^4 -type propagators.

Abstract:Abstract Suppose that W is a finite, unitary, reflection group acting on the complex vector space V and X is a subspace of V . Define N to be the setwise stabilizer of X in W , Z to be the pointwise stabilizer, and C = N / Z . Then restriction defines a homomorphism from the algebra of W -invariant polynomial functions on V to the algebra of C -invariant functions on X . In this note we consider the special case when W is a Coxeter group, V is the complexified reflection representation of W , and X is in the lattice of the arrangement of W , and give a simple, combinatorial characterization of when the restriction mapping is surjective in terms of the exponents of W and C . As an application of our result, in the case when W is the Weyl group of a semisimple, complex Lie algebra, we complete a calculation begun by Richardson in 1987 and obtain a simple combinatorial characterization of regular decomposition classes whose closure is a normal variety.
