Abstract:Let $F$ be a non archimedian local field and $H_n(F)$ the Shalika subgroup of $GL_{2n}(F)$. We prove an explicit Plancherel formula for $H_n(F) \backslash GL_{2n}(F)$ using the theory of Jacquet-Shalika of zeta functions and we deduce Plancherel decompositions for $H_n(F) \backslash GL_{2n}(F)$ and $GL_{n}(F) \times GL_{n}(F) \backslash GL_{2n}(F)$.

Abstract:The Plancherel formula for the universal covering group of $SL(2, R)$ derived earlier by Pukanszky on which Herb and Wolf build their Plancherel theorem for general semisimple groups is reconsidered. It is shown that a set of unitarily equivalent representations is treated by these authors as distinct. Identification of this equivalence results in a Plancherel measure ($s\mathrm{Re}\tanh\pi(s+\frac{i\tau}{2}), 0\leq\tau<1)$ which is different from the Pukanszky-Herb-Wolf measure ($s\mathrm{Re}\tanh\pi(s+i\tau), 0\leq\tau<1)$.

Abstract:We establish some results in local harmonic analysis which are necessary for Arthur's invariant trace formula for coverings of connected reductive groups. More precisely, for local coverings we will study (1) the Plancherel formula and its preparations, (2) the normalization of intertwining operators subject to Arthur's conditions, (3) the local behavior of characters of admissible representations in the nonarchimedean case, and (4) the genuine part of the invariant local trace formula. As a byproduct of the invariant local trace formula, we deduce the density of tempered characters for coverings.

Scattering and a Plancherel formula for real reductive spherical spaces

Abstract:We establish the analog for real homogeneous spherical varieties of the Scattering Theorem of Sakellaridis and Venkatesh (Periods and harmonic analysis on spherical varieties, Asterisque 396, (2017), Theorem 7.3.1) for p-adic wavefront spherical varieties. We use properties of the Harish-Chandra homomorphism of Knop for invariant differential operators of the variety, special coverings of the variety and spectral projections. Our main result depend on an analog of the Discrete Series Conjecture of Sakellaridis and Venkatesh (\cite{SV}, Conjecture 9.4.6). Their result quoted above depends on this Discrete series conjecture.

Abstract:This paper, in particular, gives a complete proof of the direct integral version of the Whittaker Plancherel Theorem. The main emphasis is on certain Hilbert and Fréchet vector bundles over a space that has a submersion onto the tempered dual. This allows for an approach to the Plancherel Theorems (both for L^2 and the Whittaker case) that is representation theoretic, bypasses the need for Harish-Chandra's Eisenstein Integrals and yields a proof the direct integral decompositions without invoking the abstract theory.

On the Whittaker Plancherel Theorem for Real Reductive Groups

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to give the first complete proof of the Whittaker Plancherel Theorem. The proof uses Harish-Chandra's Plancherel Theorem for a real reductive group and its exposition can be used as an introduction to Harish-Chandra's ideas. The proof follows the basic ideas in the author's original attempt in his second volume on real reductive groups. An error in the calculation of the Whittaker Transform of a Harish-Chandra wave packet is fixed using a result of Raphaël Beuzart-Plessis.

Abstract:For $G=\mathrm{SL}_2$ or $\mathrm{GL}_2$, we present explicit formulas for the nonabelian Fourier kernels on $G$, as conjectured by A. Braverman and D. Kazhdan. Additionally, we furnish explicit formulas for the orbital Hankel transform on $G$, a topic investigated by the second author, and provide an explicit formula for the stable orbital integral of the basic function. These results are applicable to local fields with residual characteristics other than two.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a Whittaker-Plancherel inversion formula for $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$ from the analytic perspective of the Bessel transform of Bruggeman and Motohashi. The formula gives a decomposition of the Whittaker-Fourier coefficient of a compactly supported function on $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$ in terms of its Bessel coefficients attached to irreducible unitary tempered representations of $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{C})$.

One-Loop Integrals from Spherical Projections of Planes and Quadrics

Abstract:We initiate a systematic study of one-loop integrals by investigating the connection between their singularity structures and geometric configurations in the projective space associated to their Feynman parametrization. We analyze these integrals by two recursive methods, which leads to two independent algebraic algorithms that determine the symbols of any one-loop integrals in arbitrary spacetime dimensions. The discontinuities of Feynman diagrams are shown to arise from taking certain "spherical contour" residues in Feynman parameter space, which is geometrically interpreted as a projection of the quadric surface (associated to the Symanzik polynomial at one loop) through faces of the integration region (which is a simplex). This geometry also leads to a manifestly Lorentz-invariant understanding for perturbative unitarity at one loop.

Abstract:The main theme of this paper is that singular automorphic forms on classical groups are given by theta series liftings. We establish several inequalities relating the automorphic multiplicities of a given representation and that of its abstract theta lift. Our methods allow one to lift noncuspidal, square integrable automorphic forms when the dual pair involved is in the stable range. In this way we construct new families of singular automorphic forms, many of which are clearly unipotent. In fact, starting from one-dimensional representations and repeating the procedure (of lifting in the stable range), one may obtain all automorphic forms which are quadratic unipotent in the sense of Moeglin.

Abstract:Local Plücker formulas relate the vector of metrics on a holomorphic curve in the projective space, induced by the Fubini-Study metrics on projetive spaces via Plücker embeddings of associated curves, to the corresponding vector of curvatures. Givental noted that the vector of curvatures is expressed in terms of the vector of metrics via Cartan matrix of type $ A_n$ and extended this observation from type $A_n$ to all nonexceptional types. In this paper we show how local Plücker formulas for special orthogonal groups, i.e. for Cartan matrices of type $ B_n$ and $ D_n$, can be obtained by reduction to the classical $A_n$ case.

Abstract:We consider the Fourier expansions of automorphic forms on general Lie groups, with a particular emphasis on exceptional groups. After describing some principles underlying known results on GL(n), Sp(4), and G_2, we perform an analysis of the expansions on split real forms of E_6 and E_7 where simplifications take place for automorphic realizations of real representations which have small Gelfand-Kirillov dimension. Though the character varieties are more complicated for exceptional groups, we explain how the nonvanishing Fourier coefficients for small representations behave analogously to Fourier coefficients on GL(n). We use this mechanism, for example, to show that the minimal representation of either E_6 or E_7 never occurs in the cuspidal automorphic spectrum. We also give a complete description of the internal Chevalley modules of all complex Chevalley groups -- that is, the orbit decomposition of the Levi factor of a maximal parabolic on its unipotent radical. This generalizes classical results on trivectors and in particular includes a full description of the complex character variety orbits for all maximal parabolics. The results of this paper have been applied in the string theory literature to the study of BPS instanton contributions to graviton scattering [<a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1111.2983" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1111.2983">arXiv:1111.2983</a>].

Abstract:Using the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we construct operator Fredholm equations, which can help us to re-formulize the Weyl correspondence and P-representation. We then search for their solutions which present new formulae for deriving quantum operators' Weyl classical correspondence and P-representation.
