Abstract:Introduction: The paper introduces a novel optimal feedforward controller for Hydraulic manipulators equipped with a passive grapple, addressing the issue of sway during and after movement. The controller is specifically applied to a forwarder machine used in forestry for log-loading tasks. Methods: The controller is designed for smooth operation, low computational demands, and efficient sway damping. Customizable parameters allow adjustments to suit operator preferences. The implementation was carried out using the Amesim model of a forwarder. Results: Simulation results indicate a significant reduction in sway motions, averaging a decrease of more than 60%. This performance was achieved without the need for additional sway-detection sensors, which simplifies the system design and reduces costs. Discussion: The proposed method demonstrates versatility and broad applicability, offering a new framework for anti-sway controllers in various fields such as construction cranes, forestry vehicles, aerial drones, and other robotic manipulators with passive end-effectors. This adaptability could lead to significant advances in safety and efficiency.

Abstract:Friction is a nonlinear effect that occurs in all mechanical systems which may cause limit cycles, tracking errors, and other undesirable effects. Traditional static friction models cannot characterize all the friction situations. In recent years, neural network (NN) technique has been widely used to approximate the nonlinear function. In this paper, a new method which combines radical basis function neural network (BRFNN) with beetle antennae search (BAS) algorithm for modeling friction in a robotic joint is proposed. Velocity, load, and temperature are considered as the three factors that influence the static friction. It is shown that the proposed BAS-RBFNN possesses better performance in terms of faster convergence rate and higher accuracy.

Anti-Swing Control of Crane System Based on Optimal Control

Abstract:Based on the Lagrange equation,the dynamic model is built for the crane system.The model completely describes the three-dimensional movement of the horizontal direction,vertical direction and fore-and-aft direction,and the load swing caused by the movement.And the linear model of the crane system is derived according to the linearization conditions.Considering the expertise,an anti-swing control method is presented based on optimal control.This method realizes the synchronization control of accurate parking of crane and swing proof of load by controlling the moving time or distance,which doesn't need real-time measurement of the swing angle or speed.Simulation results show that the method is reasonable and easy for engineering realization.
