Abstract:The effect of different crystal phases, i.e. spinel phase (CuMn2O4) and amorphous phase (Cu0.2MnOx), was explored in Cu-Mn catalytic ozonation of toluene. The toluene removal efficiency followed the order of Cu0.2MnOx (91.2%) ˃ CuMn2O4 (74.5%) ˃ commercial catalyst Cu0.3MnOx (70.3%) in 130 min, and the higher CO2 yield (67.6%) could be also observed using Cu0.2MnOx. In order to investigate the effect of phases on the toluene degradation pathway, the intermediates and byproducts were identified by DRIFTS, GC-MS, and TOF-SIMS. No obvious difference was observed in the distribution of byproducts, except for the quantities, suggesting the discrepancy of oxidation rate. On the other hand, the catalysts were characterized before and after the ozonation process by TEM, BET, XPS, XRD, EPR, TGA, and TPR. It was proposed that for amorphous catalysts, the oxygen vacancy (Vo) helped the chemisorption of toluene, and adjacent Mn reacted as the main active site for the ozonation process. While, the redox pair of Cu+/Mn4+ and Cu2+/(Mn3+, Mn2+) in the spinel phase plays an important role in the generation of oxygen vacancies for O3 decomposition.
Degradation of Ciprofloxacin Using Α-Mno2 Activated Peroxymonosulfate Process: Effect of Water Constituents, Degradation Intermediates and Toxicity Evaluation

Abstract:Nanoscale α-MnO2 with different morphologies (nanoparticles, nanoflowers and nanorods) were synthesized via a facile hydrothermal method and tested in peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation for ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation. The catalytic activity of α-MnO2 mainly relied on the specific surface area and crystallinity, and followed the order of α-MnO2 nanoflowers>α-MnO2 nanorods>α-MnO2 nanoparticles>commercial MnO2. Acidic condition was more beneficial to CIP removal than neutral condition, and the degradation would be greatly accelerated in alkaline circumstance. The introduction of chloride and bicarbonate displayed concentration-dependent dual effect. The presence of natural organic matter (NOM) exerted the detrimental effect on CIP degradation. Eleven oxidation products were identified by UPLC–MS/MS and the changes of their concentrations were monitored, five products showed monotonous uptrend while four intermediates present monotonous downtrend once they were generated. Piperazine ring cleavage, hydroxylation and F/OH substitution were found to be the important oxidation pathways. The acute toxicity of resulted solution gradually decreased with the lapse of time, and higher PMS concentration favored the detoxification. The CIP removal in α-MnO2/PMS process was also efficient under the actual water background, which was testified by the results of fluorescence excitation-emission matrix (EEM).
A Comprehensive Assessment of Catalytic Performances of Mn2O3 Nanoparticles for Peroxymonosulfate Activation during Bisphenol A Degradation

Abstract:Catalytic performances of Mn2O3 nanoparticles for peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation in bisphenol A (BPA) degradation were comprehensively investigated in this study. Experimental results showed that 10 mg/L BPA could be 100% degraded within 20 min with the dosages of 0.2 g/L Mn2O3 and 0.1 mM PMS. Moreover, Mn2O3 showed remarkable activity in activation of PMS and excellent adaptability in various real water matrices, including river water, tap water and secondary effluents. Based on the radical detection and scavenging experiments, it was found that both radical and non-radical oxidation contributed to the degradation of BPA and O-1(2) was the dominant species in the degradation compared to (OH)-O-center dot, SO4 center dot- and O-2(center dot-). A total of 15 transformation products were identified by LC/MS-MS during BPA degradation in the Mn2O3/PMS system, and degradation pathways via three routes are proposed. Compared with lab-made catalysts reported in the literature, the Mn2O3 catalyst demonstrated its superiority in terms of its high TOC removal, low PMS consumption and fast degradation rate for BPA.
Oriented generation of singlet oxygen in H2O2 activation for water decontamination: regulation of oxygen vacancies over -MnO2 nanocatalysts

Abstract:The importance of nonradical Fenton-like catalysis in environmental fields has motivated research for effective singlet oxygen (O-1(2)) production, but realizing the accurate design and regulation of active sites for manipulating oriented O-1(2) generation is still highly challenging. In this study, alpha-, beta-, and gamma-MnO2 catalysts with different oxygen vacancy (OV) abundance were fabricated to activate H2O2 to generate O-1(2) for the degradation of oxytetracycline (OTC). The OV-rich a-MnO2 had a high OTC removal efficiency (>93.5%) at the pH range from 4.0 to 11.0. Moreover, alpha-MnO2 exhibited great applicability for a real water matrix, and the total removal of various kinds of emerging contaminants from hospital wastewater reached up to 97.4%. The excellent performances of alpha-MnO2 were attributed to the rich contents of OVs that induced the oriented generation of O-1(2). Theoretical density functional theory (DFT) calculations validated that the OV-rich alpha-MnO2 had the highest H2O2 adsorption ability (-1.39 eV) and the lowest energy barrier (0.41 eV) for the dissociation of *OH to form the *O intermediate, which promoted the oriented formation of O-1(2). This work provides a strategy of manipulating the oriented generation of O-1(2) towards water decontamination via regulating the abundance of oxygen vacancies in alpha-MnO2 nanocatalysts.
Amino-functionalized Synthesis of MnO2-NH2-GO for Catalytic Ozonation of Cephalexin

Abstract:Catalysts such as MnO2 always play a critical role in catalytic ozonation, which is applied extensively in water treatment for disinfection, odor removal and organic pollutants degradation. To improve the performance of catalytic ozonation, we design and synthesize a catalyst of amino-functionalized hybrid of MnO2 and graphene oxide (MnO2-NH2-GO) with hydrothermal method, and then use it to catalyze the ozonation of cephalexin (CLX), one of beta-lactams antibiotics frequently detected as refractory pollutants in aquatic environment. The MnO2-NH2-GO shows much higher catalytic performance than both MnO2 and MnO2-GO in the ozonation of CLX, in which the free radicals of center dot O-2(-) play a dominated role and the mn(3+)/Mn4+ acting as active sites react with ozone to promote the formation of center dot O-2(-) with the help of the enhanced electron transfer facilitated by GO. The MnO2-NH2-GO also shows more stable catalytic performance than MnO2-GO due to the strong covalent bonds bridged by amino to MnO2 and GO to prevent the decoupling of GO from MnO2. This work provides a method to design a smart catalyst for ozonation with high catalytic performance and stability.
Mn Anchored Zeolite Molecular Nest for Enhanced Catalytic Ozonation of Cephalexin.

Abstract:The molecular nest structured catalysts have demonstrated better performance than the traditional supported catalysts. However, they have not been tried in antibiotics or other organic pollutants removal from water by advanced oxidation processes (AOPs). Here we synthesized Mn anchored zeolite molecular nest (Mn@ZN) for the catalytic ozonation of cephalexin (CLX), which is the widely used antibiotic and also a refractory pollutant in water. The ozonation catalyzed by Mn@ZN achieves 97% of CLX degradation in only 2 min and a reaction rate constant of 0.2454 L·mg−1·s−1, which is 79.2 times higher than that of the non-catalytic ozonation. Even after ten cycles, the 0.46Mn@ZN/O3 still achieves a CLX degradation efficiency higher than 88% in 2 min, presenting an excellent stability. Mn ions stabilized by the molecular nests facilitate Lewis acid sites and oxygen vacancies, providing active sites for O3 sorption and decomposition into ·O2− and 1O2 through electrons transfer for the radical reaction with CLX. DFT calculation indicates that both the oxygen vacancy formation energy and the O3 adsorption energy of Mn@ZN are reduced by the Mn species introduction. This study finds a fascinating catalyst of Mn@ZN for the catalytic ozonation of antibiotics, and also a smart design strategy for zeolite confined metals catalysts for water treatment.
Efficient catalytic ozonation for ibuprofen through electron-deficient/rich centers over cerium-manganese doped carbon

Abstract:The sluggish Me(n+m)+ /Men+ redox cycle greatly restrained the catalytic ozonation performance of metal-based catalysts. To break this bottleneck, we adopted an interfacial oxidation reaction to create electron-deficient/rich centers within carbon skeleton derived from MOF (C-MOF) by utilizing the electronegativity difference between cerium (Ce) and manganese (Mn), and evaluated its catalytic ozonation activity with ibuprofen (IBP) as model pollutant. XPS, H2-TPR, LSV and EPR characterizations as well as DFT calculation demonstrated that there existed electron-deficient Ce sites and electron-rich Mn sites on CeOx/MnOx/C-MOF. Under the co-function of Ce and Mn sites, CeOx/MnOx/C-MOF/O3 process achieved 100% IBP removal in 90 min, which was 3.1 times of sole ozonation process. IBP could be absorbed at the electron-deficient Ce center and directionally donate its electron to the O3 around electron-rich Mn center. Singlet oxygen (1O2) played the major role in IBP degradation. Cl−, HCO3 −, NO3 − and SO4 2− demonstrated limited inhibitions on IBP degradation. This work provided a sustainable strategy for breaking the rate-limiting step in the traditional catalytic ozonation.

Abstract:The metronidazole (MNZ) antibiotic is widely used to treat infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and it is difficult to biodegrade in the pharmaceutical wastewaters. In this study, Fe-UiO-66, Mn-UiO-66 and Fe/Mn-UiO-66 catalysts were prepared for the kinetic study of catalytic wet peroxide oxidation (CWPO) degradation of metronidazole in pharmaceutical wastewater. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, N 2 adsorption-desorption, SEM, and TGA. The effects of Fe and Mn loading rate, catalyst dosage, MNZ concentrations, calcined temperature of Mn-UiO-66 and Fe/Mn ratio on the CWPO of metronidazole wastewater were systematically studied. Fe-UiO-66 catalysts exhibited better catalytic activity for the CWPO degradation of metronidazole wastewater ( X MNZ = 93 %, X H2O2 = 78 %) compared to Mn-UiO-66 catalysts ( X MNZ = 20 %, X H2O2 = 30 %). The kinetics study indicates that the CWPO process is fitted for the pseudo-first-order reaction with activation energy of 89.37 kJ/mol and 95.08 kJ/mol obtained on the Fe-UiO-66 and 2Fe/Mn-UiO-66 catalysts, respectively. The supported Fe and Mn UiO-66 catalysts showed good catalytic activity for CWPO of metronidazole which exhibited potential application in the wastewater treatment process.

Abstract:Catalytic ozonation is an effective method for wastewater purification. However, the low transfer of ozone in packed bubble columns leads to low ozone utilization efficiency, limited organic degradation, and high energy consumption. To address these issues, we have developed activated carbon supported catalysts, such as CuMn2O4@WAC and CuMn2O4@CSAC, which exhibit excellent catalytic activity, stability, and high ozone utilization efficiency for the degradation of IBP in pharmaceutical wastewater. The addition of CuMn2O4@WAC or CuMn2O4@CSAC significantly increased the removal efficiency of IBP from 85% to 99%, while reducing energy consumption from 2.86 kWh/m3 to 0.80 kWh/m3 or 1.11 kWh/m3, respectively. It was also found that carboxyl groups on the surface of AC are the main active sites for ozonation, and the generation of ROS mainly depends on the oxygen-containing functional groups (-COOH groups) on the surface of AC. On the other hand, the oxygen vacancy on the surface of CuMn2O4 is also the main active site for ozone adsorption. Through DFT calculation results , it was found that the active sites on CuMn2O4, specifically Mn-OV, play a crucial role in ozone adsorption and decomposition. The oxygen vacancies on CuMn2O4 adsorb ozone and decompose it into surface-bound atomic oxygen (*O) and peroxide (*O2). The enhanced mass transfer and promotion of ozone decomposition by the activated carbon supported CuMn2O4 result in the generation of highly reactive species, leading to the degradation of IBP in pharmaceutical wastewater. In summary, the use of actived carbon supported CuMn2O4 for catalytic ozonation of pharmaceutical wastewater provides a promising method.

Abstract:Developing efficient pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) degradation technologies is of scientifical and practical importance to restrain their discharge into natural water environment. This study fabricated and applied a composite material of amorphous MnO2 nanoparticles in-situ anchored titanate nanotubes (AMnTi) to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) for efficient degradation and mineralization of carbamazepine (CBZ). The degradation pathway and toxicity evolution of CBZ during elimination were deeply evaluated through produced intermediates identification and theoretical calculations. AMnTi with a composition of (0.3MnO2)•(Na1.22H0.78Ti3O7) offered high activation efficiency of PMS, which exhibited 21- and 3-times degradation rate of CBZ compared with the pristine TNTs and MnO2, respectively. The high catalytic activity can be attributed to its unique structure, leading to a lattice shrinkage and small pores to confine the PMS molecule onto the interface. Therefore, efficient charge transfer and catalytic activation through MnOTi linkage occurred, and a MnTi cycle mediating catalytic PMS activation was found. Both hydroxyl and sulfate radicals played key roles in CBZ degradation. Theoretical calculations, i.e., density functional theory (DFT) and computational toxicity calculations, combined with intermediates identification revealed that CBZ degradation pathway was hydroxyl addition and NC cleavage. CBZ degradation in this system was also a toxicity-attenuation process.

Sulfamethoxazole degradation by alpha-MnO2/periodate oxidative system: Role of MnO2 crystalline and reactive oxygen species

Abstract:Pollutant degradation via periodate ([Formula: see text]) and transitional metal oxides provides an economical, energy-efficient way for chemical oxidation process in environmental remediation. However, catalytic activation of periodate by manganese dioxide and the associated mechanism were barely investigated. In this study, four MnO2 polymorphs (α-, β-, γ- and δ-MnO2) were synthesized and tested to activate [Formula: see text] for the degradation of sulfamethoxazole (SMX). The reactivity of different MnO2 structures followed the order of α-MnO2 > β-MnO2 > γ-MnO2 > δ-MnO2, suggesting that the particular crystalline structure in α-MnO2 would exhibit higher activities via [Formula: see text] activation. Herein, in α-MnO2/[Formula: see text] system, 91.1% of SMX was eliminated within 30 min with degradation rate constant of 0.0649 min-1, and the neutral pH exhibited higher efficiency in SMX degradation compared with acidic and alkaline conditions. Singlet oxygen (1O2) was unveiled to be the dominant ROS according to the results of electron paramagnetic resonance, chemical probes and radical quenching experiments, whereas [Formula: see text] and •OH were mainly acted as a free-radical precursor. Six oxidation products were identified by LC-MS, and the elimination of sulfonamide bond, hydroxylation and direct oxidation were found to be the important oxidation pathways. The study dedicates to the mechanistic study into periodate activation over alpha-MnO2 and provides a novel catalytic activation for selective removal in aqueous contaminants.
Catalytic ozonation of selected pharmaceuticals over mesoporous alumina-supported manganese oxide.

Abstract:Catalytic ozonation of five pharmaceutical compounds (PhACs)-phenazone, ibuprofen, diphenhydramine, phenytoin, and diclofenac sodium in alumina-supported manganese oxide (MnOx) suspension was carried out with a semicontinuous laboratory reactor. MnOx supported by mesoporous alumina (MnOx/MA) was highly effective in mineralizing the PhACs in aqueous solution. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and in situ attenuated total reflection FTIR (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy were used to examine the interaction of ozone with different catalysts under various conditions. The crucial active sites, surface oxide species at 1380 cm(-1), were formed by the interaction of ozone with Lewis acid sites on the alumina surface. New surface hydroxyl groups at 2915 and 2845 cm(-1) were produced by the interaction of the catalyst and ozone in aqueous suspension and became active sites in the presence of MnOx The introduction of MnOx enhanced the formation and activation of surface hydroxyl groups, causing higher catalytic reactivity. On the basis of these findings, a reaction mechanism is proposed for the catalytic ozonation of PhACs in MnOx/MA suspension.
Selective ozone catalyzation modulated by surface and bulk oxygen vacancies over MnO2 for superior water purification

Abstract:The regulation behavior of oxygen vacancies (Vo) at different spatial positions (surface or bulk) in catalysts for selective O3 catalyzation, along with the reaction pathways evolution was well-investigated in α-MnO2−x/O3 systems. Combined characterization methods, systematic organic removal experiments, structure-activity relationship analysis, and theoretical calculations were employed to unveil O3 decomposition and electron transfer behaviors regulated by surface or bulk Vo. The contribution of electron transfer process (ETP) to atrazine (ATZ) removal was reinforced from 5.2 % to 34.8 % with the formation of bulk Vo, and Vo-rich α-MnO2−x-2/O3 system achieved ∼96.5 % ATZ removal along with improved TOC mineralization (∼38 % vs. ∼20 %). Surface Vo facilitated O3 adsorption, promoting its decomposition into •OH, while bulk Vo not only accelerated •OH production but also withdrew electrons from organics to build ETP. This study shed light on precise modification of metal-based catalysts with Vo to modulate •OH/ETP synergistic processes in catalytic ozonation for efficient water purification.

Abstract:In the process of treating high-concentration pyridine wastewater, problems such as low treatment efficiency and total nitrogen (TN) residues are always encountered. Catalytic ozonation can degrade pyridine wastewater well, and it also has the potential to remove TN. However, limited research has been conducted on the development of ozonation catalysts that can simultaneously remove the total organic carbon (TOC) and TN. Density functional theory (DFT) technology can determine the number of active components on the catalyst based on its composition; therefore, it can be used to guide the research and development of such catalysts. Here, we presented a strategy to guide the preparation of two-component Mn and Cu catalysts using DFT technology. By characterising and applying the prepared MnxCu1-xOy/γ-Al2O3 catalysts, it was confirmed that the DFT accurately predicted the changes in the active site content. The selected catalyst also achieved strong TOC and TN removal rates during the catalytic ozonation of high-concentration pyridine wastewater. A Box-Behnken design and response surface methodology was used to optimise the process conditions of catalytic ozonation and verify its stability. Under the optimal reaction conditions, the TOC and TN removal efficiencies from a 500 mg/L pyridine solution were 99.8% and 45.8%, respectively. This work indicated that the use of DFT for the design of catalytic materials was an effective method, which can provide a theoretical basis for material design and reduce the time for material screening.

Abstract:Manganese dioxide (MnO2), a commonly find oxidant in both natural environment and industrial application, plays a crucial role for various organic compound degradation. Tuning the MnO2 crystal structure is a cost-effective strategy to boost the oxidation reactions, where the challenge remains due to lacking in-depth investigation of the crystal properties. Herein, MnO2 with different crystalline structures (x-MnO2) including α-, β- and δ- was prepared through the hydrothermal synthesis for a typical organic pollutant removal. The structural and degradation analysis indicated that the oxidation capacity was originated from Mn3+ and oxygen vacancies (OVs). The intrinsic relationships between oxidation performance and other physiochemical properties such as morphology and electrochemistry were thoroughly discussed, and positive correlations between oxidation capacity and electrochemical properties were found which eventually led to excellent oxidation performance via modulating the above-mentioned properties. Moreover, the K+ content was determined to be the most crucial role in manipulating the structure properties. This work offers a crystal-level insight into the relationship between the crystal structure and oxidative property, promoting rational design of highly efficient oxidant.

Abstract:Inflammation has been implicated as an etiological factor in several human cancers. Growing evidence suggests that chronic inflammation may also play a role in the etiology of prostate cancer. Considering that genetic susceptibility is a major risk factor for this disease, we hypothesize that sequence variants in genes that regulate inflammation may modify individual susceptibility to prostate cancer. The lipopolysaccharide receptor Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) is a central player in the signaling pathways of the innate immune response to infection by Gram-negative bacteria and is an important candidate inflammatory gene. We performed a systematic genetic analysis of TLR4 sequence variants by evaluating eight single-nucleotide polymorphisms that span the entire gene among 1383 newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients and 780 age- and residence-matched controls in Sweden. We found an association between a sequence variant (11381G/C) in the 3'-untranslated region of the TLR4 gene and prostate cancer risk. The frequency of the variant genotypes (CG or CC) was significantly higher in the patients (24.1%) than in the controls (19.7%; P = 0.02). The frequency of risk genotypes among patients diagnosed before the age of 65 years was even higher (26.3%). Compared with men who had the wild-type genotype of this single-nucleotide polymorphism (GG), those with GC or CC genotypes had a 26% increased risk for prostate cancer (odds ratio, 1.26; 95% confidence interval, 1.01-1.57) and 39% increased risk increased risk for early onset prostate cancer (before age 65 years; odds ratio, 1.39; 95% confidence interval, 1.02-1.91). The risk attributable to this variant for prostate cancer in Sweden was estimated to be 4.9%. Although the biological mechanism of the observed association remains to be elucidated, our finding supports a role for a bacteria-associated response pathway, possibly acting via inflammation, in the development of prostate cancer.

Abstract:Rationally switching reactive oxygen species (ROS) reactions in advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) is urgently needed to improve the adaptability and efficiency for the engineering application. Herein we synthesized bimetallic Mn–Pt catalysts based on zeolite to realize the switching of ROS reactions in catalytic ozonation for sustainable degradation of organic pollutants from water. The ROS reactions switched from singlet oxygen ( 1 O 2 , 71.01%) to radical-dominated (93.79%) pathway by simply introducing defects and changing Pt/Mn ratios. The oxygen vacancy induced by anchoring Mn–Pt species from zeolite external surface (MnPt/H-Beta) to internal framework (MnPt@Si-Beta) exposes more electron-rich Pt 2+ /Pt 4+ redox sites, accelerating the decomposition of O 3 to generate •OH via electron transfer and switching ROS reactions. The Mn site acted as a bridge plays a critical role in conducting electrons from organic pollutants to Pt sites, which solidly solves the electron loss of catalysts, facilitating the efficient degradation of pollutants. A 34.7-fold increase in phenol degradation compared with the non-catalytic ozonation and an excellent catalytic stability are achieved by MnPt@Si-Beta/O 3 . The 1 O 2 -dominated ROS reaction originated from MnPt/H-Beta/O 3 exhibits superior performances in anti-interference for Cl − , HCO 3 − , NO 3 − , and SO 4 − . This work establishes a novel strategy for switching ROS reactions to expand the targeted applications of O 3 based AOPs for environmental remediation.

Abstract:Ozone oxidation as a means of water treatment has received great attention in recent years, but ozone has low solubility and utilization, which hinders their efficient treatment of refractory pollutants. Herein, a dopamine-encapsulated 2D MOF strategy is proposed, where different metal salts including (acetylacetone iron, manganese, copper, etc.) are doped in it as active site precursors. After pyrolysis, 2D hollow porous carbon nanosheet catalysts such as Mn-HCNSs, Fe-HCNSs, Cu-HCNSs and Co-HCNSs are formed due to the rigid interface-induction of dopamine. Mn-doped Mn-HCNSs exhibits the best catalytic degradation performance when the antibiotic tetracycline is used as the target pollutant, and the degradation efficiency reached 90 % within 25 min (k = 0.213 min−1). This excellent catalytic performance can be attributed to several advantages: (i) the hollow porous 2D structure facilitates mass transfer and enhances the reaction kinetic constants; (ii) the confinement effect of dopamine wrapping facilitates the generation of more dispersed active sites and accelerates its ozone decomposition efficiency. This study expands the application of 2D MOF-derived porous carbon materials in ozone oxidation.

Abstract:Catalytic ozonation is an efficient method for VOCs abatement at low temperatures, in which the rational design of highly active heterogeneous catalysts constitutes the most significant step. In this study, Al2O3 was first optimized by loading MnOx. And then K was used for modifying MnOx/Al2O3 catalyst, which exhibited 2.4 x 10(-3) mol.g(-1).s(-1) oxidation rate for dichloromethane and toluene oxidation with ca. 0.89 ppm ozone detected at 80 degrees C. That could be directly applied for removing toluene and dichloromethane mixture or coupled with other treatment technologies (such as biological purification). Besides, appropriate K doping could increase the amount of reactive surface oxygen species and the ratio of Mn2+, hence contributing to an enhanced oxidation ability. By contrast, an excess K doping inevitably lowered the activity of active surface oxygen species and interfered with the transformation of Mn3+ to Mn2+, which resulted in a weakened oxidative ability and thus a decreased cat-alytic activity. Finally, the reaction mechanisms over 0.1 K-MnOx/Al2O3 were tried to be demonstrated that the degradation of toluene mainly followed the pathway of toluene - phenylcarbinol - benzaldehyde - benzoic acid - phenyl group - small-molecule species and/or CO2 while the route of dichloromethane - methanol - formal-dehyde - formic acid - small-molecule species and/or CO2 explained the catalytic oxidation of dichloromethane. All of these findings may facilitate the design of novel heterogeneous catalysts for VOCs oxidation and progress the development of catalytic ozonation for toluene and dichloromethane abatement.
