Abstract:Let $A$ be one of the following Clifford algebras : $\mathbb{R}_2 \cong \mathbb{H}$ or $\mathbb{R}_3$. For the algebra $A$, the automorphism group $Aut(A)$ and its invariants are well known. In this paper we will describe the invariants of the automorphism group of the algebra of slice regular functions over $A$.

Abstract:In the literature on slice analysis in the hypercomplex setting, there are two main approaches to define slice regular functions in one variable: one consists in requiring that the restriction to any complex plane is holomorphic (with the same complex structure of the complex plane), the second one makes use of stem and slice functions. So far, in the setting of several hypercomplex variables, only the second approach has been considered, i.e. the one based on stem functions. In this paper, we use instead the first definition on the so-called $n$-dimensional quadratic cone of octonions. These two approaches yield the same class of slice regular functions on axially symmetric slice-domains, however, they are different on other types of domains. We call this new class of functions weak slice regular. We show that there exist weak slice regular functions which are not slice regular in the second approach. Moreover, we study various properties of these functions, including a Taylor expansion.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, we enrich from a geometrical point of view the theory of octonionic slice regular functions. We first prove a boundary Schwarz lemma for slice regular self-mappings of the open unit ball of the octonionic space. As applications, we obtain two Landau–Toeplitz type theorems for slice regular functions with respect to regular diameter and slice diameter, respectively, together with a Cauchy type estimate. Along with these results, we introduce some new and useful ideas, which also allow us to prove the minimum principle and one version of the open mapping theorem. On the other hand, we adopt a completely new approach to strengthen a version of boundary Schwarz lemma first proved in Ren and Wang (Trans Am Math Soc 369:861–885, 2017) for quaternionic slice regular functions. Our quaternionic boundary Schwarz lemma with optimal estimate improves considerably a well-known Osserman type estimate and provides additionally all the extremal functions.
Slice Regular Functions on Regular Quadratic Cones of Real Alternative Algebras

Abstract:The theory of slice regular functions is a natural generalization of that of holomorphic functions of one complex variable to the setting of quaternions, octonions, paravectors in Clifford algebras, and more generally quadratic cones of real alternative algebras, in virtue of a slight modification of a well-known Fueter construction. In this paper, we focus on slice regular functions on the so-called regular quadratic cones, which are generally smaller than quadratic cones introduced by Ghiloni-Perotti and turn out to be the appropriate sets on which some nice properties of slice regular functions can be considered, including particularly the growth and distortion theorems for slice regular extensions of univalent holomorphic functions on the unit disc D subset of C, the Erdos-Lax inequality and the Turan inequality for a subclass of slice regular polynomials with all the coefficients in a same complex plane. It is noteworthy that the notion of regular quadratic cones also provides additionally an effective approach to unifying the theory of slice regular functions on quaternions, octonions, and paravectors in Clifford algebras.
An unoriented analogue of slice-torus invariant

Abstract:A slice-torus invariant is an $\mathbb{R}$-valued homomorphism on the knot concordance group whose value gives a lower bound for the 4-genus such that the equality holds for any positive torus knot. Such invariants have been discovered in many of knot homology theories, while it is known that any slice-torus invariant does not factor through the topological concordance group. In this paper, we introduce the notion of "unoriented slice-torus invariant", which can be regarded as the same as slice-torus invariant except for the condition about the orientability of surfaces. Then we show that the Ozsváth-Stipsicz-Szabó $\upsilon$-invariant, the Ballinger $t$-invariant and the Daemi-Scaduto $h_{\mathbb{Z}}$-invariant (shifted by a half of the knot signature) are unoriented slice-torus invariants. As an application, we give a new method for computing the above invariants, which is analogous to Livingston's method for computing slice-torus invariants. Moreover, we use the method to prove that any unoriented slice-torus invariant does not factor through the topological concordance group.

Abstract:After their introduction in 2006, quaternionic slice regular functions have mostly been studied over domains that are symmetric with respect to the real axis. This choice was motivated by some foundational results published in 2009, such as the Representation Formula for axially symmetric domains. The present work studies slice regular functions over domains that are not axially symmetric, partly correcting the hypotheses of some previously published results. In particular, this work includes a Local Representation Formula valid without the symmetry hypothesis. Moreover, it determines a class of domains, called simple, having the following property: every slice regular function on a simple domain can be uniquely extended to the symmetric completion of its domain.

Abstract:In this article, we present the symmetry group of a global slice Dirac operator and its iterated ones. Further, the explicit forms of intertwining operators of the iterated global slice Dirac operator are given. At the end, we introduce a variant of the global slice Dirac operator, which allows functions considered to be defined on the whole Euclidean space. The invariance property and the intertwining operators of this variant of the global slice Dirac operator are also presented.

Abstract:In this paper we establish quaternionic and octonionic analogs of the classical Riemann surfaces. The construction of these manifolds has nice peculiarities and the scrutiny of Bernhard Riemann approach to Riemann surfaces, mainly based on conformality, leads to the definition of slice conformal or slice isothermal parameterization of quaternionic or octonionic Riemann manifolds. These new classes of manifolds include slice regular quaternionic and octonionic curves, graphs of slice regular functions, the $4$ and $8$ dimensional spheres, the helicoidal and catenoidal $4$ and $8$ dimensional manifolds. Using appropriate Riemann manifolds, we also give a unified definition of the quaternionic and octonionic logarithm and $n$-th root function.

Abstract:Theory of Slice regular functions is a natural generalization of complex analysis from complex numbers to quaternions. It was introduced initially by Gentili and Struppa in 2006, and has been extensively studied and has found its elegant applications to functional calculus for quaternionic linear operators, operator theory, Schur analysis and quaternionic quantum mechanics. Meanwhile, the notion of Slice regularity was also extended to functions of an octonionic variable and to the setting of Clifford algebras as well as to the setting of alternative real algebras. In this survey, we shall focus mainly on our recent results in the theory of Slice regular functions. Firstly, we establish the Borel-Caratheodory inequality and the sharp growth and distortion theorems for Slice regular extensions of normalized biholomorphic functions on the unit disc in the setting of quaternions. In addition, we study the boundary behavior of Slice regular functions and obtain the Julia lemma, the Julia-Caratheodory theorem as well as the boundary Schwarz lemma. In particular, we find that the boundary Schwarz lemma does not ensure the Slice derivative of a Slice regular self-mappings of the open unit ball B⊂H at its boundary fixed point to be necessarily a real number, in contrast to that in the complex case. Finally, we study theory of function spaces of Slice regular functions and establish the Forelli-Rudin type estimates.

Abstract:In this paper we summarize some known facts on slice topology in the quaternionic case, and we deepen some of them by proving new results and discussing some examples. We then show, following [18], how this setting allows us to generalize slice analysis to the general case of functions with values in a real left alternative algebra, which includes the case of slice monogenic functions with values in Clifford algebra. Moreover, we further extend slice analysis, in one and several variables, to functions with values in a Euclidean space of even dimension. In this framework, we study the domains of slice regularity, we prove some extension properties and the validity of a Taylor expansion for a slice regular function.

Abstract:The primary objective of this paper is to establish an algebraic framework for the space of weakly slice regular functions over several quaternionic variables. We recently introduced a $*$-product that maintains the path-slice property within the class of path-slice functions. It is noteworthy that this $*$-product is directly applicable to weakly slice regular functions, as every slice regular function defined on a slice-open set inherently possesses path-slice properties. Building on this foundation, we propose a precise definition of an open neighborhood for a path $\gamma$ in the path space $\mathscr{P}(\mathbb{C}^n)$. This definition is pivotal in establishing the holomorphism of stem functions. Consequently, we demonstrate that the $*$-product of two weakly slice regular functions retains its weakly slice regular nature. This retention is facilitated by holomorphy of stem functions and their relationship with weakly slice regular functions, providing a comprehensive algebraic structure for this class of functions.

Abstract:We extend some definitions and give new results about the theory of slice analysis in several quaternionic variables. The sets of slice functions which are respectively slice, slice regular and circular w.r.t. given variables are characterized. We introduce new notions of partial spherical values and derivative for functions of several variables that extend those of one variable. We recover some of their properties and find new ones. Finally, we prove a generalization of Fueter's Theorem in this context.

Octonion Algebras over Schemes and the Equivalence of Isotopes and Isometric Quadratic Forms

Abstract:Octonion algebras are certain algebras with a multiplicative quadratic form. In their 2019 article, Alsaody and Gille show that, for octonion algebras over unital commutative rings, there is an equivalence between isotopes and isometric quadratic forms. The contravariant equivalence from unital commutative rings to affine schemes, sending a ring to its spectrum, leads us to a question: can the equivalence of isotopy and isometry be generalized to octonion algebras over a (not necessarily affine) scheme? We present the basic definitions and properties of octonion algebras, both over rings and over schemes. Then we show that an isotope of an octonion algebra C over a scheme is isomorphic to a twist by an Aut(C)-torsor. We conclude the thesis by giving an affirmative answer to our question.

Domains of existence of slice regular functions in one quaternionic variable

Abstract:Recently, we introduced domains of slice regularity in the space $\mathbb{H}$ of quaternions and also proved that domains of slice regularity satisfy a symmetry with respect to paths, called $2$-path-symmetry. In this paper, we give a full characterization by showing that all $2$-path-symmetric slice-open sets are domains of slice regularity. In fact, we will prove a counterpart of the Cartan-Thullen theorem for slice regular functions, namely that a slice-open set is a domain of existence for some slice regular function if and only if it is a domain of slice regularity, if and only if it is slice-regularly convex, if and only if it is $2$-path-symmetric. As a tool, we also prove an interpolation theorem of independent interest.

Abstract:In this paper, we show that a Clifford algebra valued function is slice if and only if it is in the kernel of Dunkl-spherical Dirac operator and a slice function $f$ is slice regular if and only if it is in the kernel of the Dunkl-Cauchy-Riemann operator of a certain parameter. Based on this observation and the inverse Dunkl intertwining operator, we present a new approach to construct a family of classical monogenic functions from a given holomorphic function.

Abstract:We construct a counterexample to a well-known extension theorem for slice regular functions, which motivates us to develop a theory of Riemann slice-domains by introducing a new topology on quaternions. By some paths describing axial symmetry in Riemann slice-domains, we rectify the classical extension formula in the theory of slice regular functions and prove a representation formula over slice-domains of regularity. This proof involves an intertwining relation between imaginary units of quaternions and a fixed matrix corresponding to a complex structure.

Abstract:We discuss the octonionic regular functions and the octonionic regular operator on the octonionic Heisenberg group. This is the octonionic version of CR function theory in the theory of several complex variables and regular function theory on the quaternionic Heisenberg group. By identifying the octonionic algebra with $\mathbb{R }^{8}$, we can write the octonionic regular operator and the associated Laplacian operator as real $(8\times 8)$-matrix differential operators. Then we use the group Fourier transform on the octonionic Heisenberg group to analyze the associated Laplacian operator and to construct its kernel. This kernel is exactly the Szegö kernel of the orthonormal projection from the space of $L^{2}$ functions to the space of $L^{2}$ regular functions on the octonionic Heisenberg group.
