Abstract:A Koszul duality-type correspondence between coderived categories of conilpotent differential graded Lie coalgebras and their Chevalley-Eilenberg differential graded algebras is established. This gives an interpretation of Lie coalgebra cohomology as a certain kind of derived functor. A similar correspondence is proved for coderived categories of commutative cofibrant differential graded algebras and their Harrison differential graded Lie coalgebras.
What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is related to the research on the cohomology theory of Lie coalgebras. Specifically, the authors established a relationship similar to Koszul duality, which exists in the correspondence between the coderived categories of conilpotent differential graded Lie coalgebras and their Chevalley - Eilenberg differential graded algebras. This provides a method of interpreting the cohomology of Lie coalgebras as a certain derived functor. In addition, the paper also proved that a similar correspondence applies to the coderived categories of commutative cofibrant differential graded algebras and their Harrison differential graded Lie coalgebras.
### Specific problems and solutions:
1. **Problem background**:
- The cohomology theory of Lie algebras has been widely studied and is a standard tool in Lie theory, representation theory, and homological algebra.
- In contrast, the cohomology theory of Lie coalgebras has been less studied. Although its definition through the standard complex is straightforward, the interpretation of low - dimensional groups is similar to that of Lie algebras.
2. **Main problems**:
- Establish the cohomology theory of Lie coalgebras and interpret it as a certain derived functor.
- Study the Koszul duality relationship between Lie coalgebras and commutative algebras.
3. **Solutions**:
- **Koszul duality**: The authors established the Koszul duality relationship between the coderived category of conilpotent differential graded Lie coalgebras and the coderived category of Chevalley - Eilenberg differential graded algebras. This duality relationship enables the cohomology of Lie coalgebras to be interpreted as a certain derived functor.
- **Module - comodule correspondence**: The paper also discussed the correspondence between the modules of conilpotent differential graded commutative algebras and the comodules of Harrison differential graded Lie coalgebras. This correspondence is of great significance in rational homotopy theory.
### Main results:
1. **Theorem 4.13**: For a conilpotent differential graded Lie coalgebra \( g \), there exists a coreflective Quillen adjunction relationship, that is, the relationship between the comodule category of \( g \) and the module category of \( \text{CE}(g) \). If \( g \) is non - negatively graded, then this adjunction relationship becomes a Quillen equivalence (Theorem 4.18).
2. **Corollary 4.14**: As a result of the above theorem, the Chevalley - Eilenberg cohomology can be interpreted as a certain derived functor.
3. **Theorem 5.5**: Similar results also apply to the relationship between the modules of conilpotent differential graded commutative algebras and the comodules of Harrison differential graded Lie coalgebras.
### Applications and significance:
- **Rational homotopy theory**: Differential graded Lie coalgebras naturally occur in rational homotopy theory, for example, in the cobar construction of Sullivan's minimal model.
- **Smooth manifolds**: The modules of Sullivan's minimal model correspond to the comodules of the corresponding Harrison differential graded Lie coalgebras. In the case of smooth manifolds, these modules correspond to the modules of the de Rham algebra, such as flat super - connections, infinite local systems, or homologically locally constant sheaves.
In conclusion, by establishing the Koszul duality relationship of Lie coalgebras, this paper provides a new perspective for understanding the cohomology theory of Lie coalgebras and has important applications in the research of rational homotopy theory and smooth manifolds.
