Abstract:In this article, we study oblique boundary value problems for degenerate Hessian quotient type equations in bounded domains without any geometric conditions. By establishing the a priori estimates, we show the existence and uniqueness of $C^{1,1}$ admissible solutions.

Abstract:In bounded domains, without any geometric conditions, we study the existence and uniqueness of globally Lipschitz and interior strong C^{1,1}, (and classical C^2), solutions of general semilinear oblique boundary value problems for degenerate, (and non-degenerate), augmented Hessian equations, with strictly regular associated matrix functions. By establishing local second derivative estimates at the boundary and proving viscosity comparison principles, we show that the solution is correspondingly smooth near boundary points where the appropriate uniform convexity is satisfied.

Abstract:In the paper, we prove the existence and uniqueness results of the $C^{1,1}$ regular graphic hypersurface for Dirichlet problem of a class of degenerate Hessian quotient type curvature equations under the condition $\psi^{\frac{1}{k-l}}\in C^{1,1}(\overline{\Omega}\times\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{S}^n)$. Specially, we also consider the second order derivative estimates for the corresponding degenerate Hessian type curvature equations under the optimal condition $\psi^{\frac{1}{k-1}}\in C^{1,1}(\overline{\Omega}\times\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{S}^n)$.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that the C0 boundedness of solution implies the global existence and uniqueness of C1 solution to the mixed initial-boundary value problem for linearly degenerate, reducible quasilinear hyperbolic systems with nonlinear boundary conditions and we show by an example that the C0 norm of solution may blow up in a finite time. This gives the mechanism of the formation of singularities caused by the interaction of boundary conditions with nonlinear hyperbolic waves. The same result is still valid for the quasilinear hyperbolic system of rich type.

Abstract:In this paper we study the Dirichlet problem of a class of nonlinear elliptic equations which includes Monge–Ampère equation, K-Hessian equation and the usual linear elliptic equation. This problem becomes singular near the boundary of the domain. By carefully constructing sub-solutions we obtain the boundary Hölder estimate for the convex solution to the problem when the domain satisfies exterior sphere condition.

Abstract:We prove the symmetry of solutions to overdetermined problems for a class of fully nonlinear equations, namely Hessian quotient equations and Hessian quotient curvature equations. Our approach is based on establishing a Rellich-Pohozaev type identity for Hessian quotient equations and using a P function. Our result generalizes the overdetermined problems for k-Hessian equations and k-curvature equations.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the Neumann problem for parabolic Hessian quotient equations. We show that the $k$-admissible solution of the parabolic Hessian quotient equation exists for all time and converges to the smooth solution of elliptic Hessian quotient equations. Also the solutions of the classical Neumann problem converge to a translating solution.

Abstract:We study the good shape property of boundary sections of convex solutions of the oblique boundary value problem for Monge-Ampère equations $$\det D^2u =f(x) \text{ in } \Omega , \quad D_{\beta}u = \phi(x) \text{ on } \partial \Omega.$$ In the two-dimensional case, we prove the global $C^{2,\alpha}$ estimate for the solution. When the dimension $n \geq 3$, we show that this estimate still holds if the solution is bounded from above by a quadratic function in the tangent direction. We also obtain an existence result for the convex solution of Monge-Ampère equations with Robin oblique boundary conditions.

Abstract:We provide a sharp $C^{1,\alpha}$ estimate up to the boundary for a viscosity solution of a degenerate fully nonlinear elliptic equation with the oblique boundary condition on a $C^1$ domain. To this end, we first obtain a uniform boundary H{ö}lder estimate with the oblique boundary condition in an "almost $C^1$-flat" domain for the equations which is uniformly elliptic only where the gradient is far from some point, and then we establish a desired $C^{1,\alpha}$ regularity based on perturbation and compactness arguments.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the a priori estimates for two-dimensional second order homogeneous linear elliptic equations in a narrow region. In a crescent-shaped area, part of the boundary is subject to an oblique derivative boundary condition, while the other part of the boundary is subject to a Dirichlet boundary condition. We show that, as the crescent-shaped area collapses into a segment under suitable conditions, the boundary value problem obeys uniform Schauder estimates and induces an asymptotic estimate.

Abstract:We study a conormal boundary value problem for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations in bounded domain $\Omega$ whose coefficients can be degenerate or singular of the type $\text{dist}(x, \partial \Omega)^\alpha$, where $\partial \Omega$ is the boundary of $\Omega$ and $\alpha \in (-1, \infty)$ is a given number. We establish weighted Sobolev type estimates for weak solutions under a smallness assumption on the weighted mean oscillations of the coefficients in small balls. Our approach relies on a perturbative method and several new Lipschitz estimates for weak solutions to a class of singular-degenerate quasilinear equations.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to examine an inverse problem of parameter identification in an evolutionary quasi-variational hemivariational inequality in infinite dimensional reflexive Banach spaces. First, the solvability and compactness of the solution set to the inequality are established by employing a fixed point argument and tools of non-linear analysis. Then, general existence and compactness results for the inverse problem have been proved. Finally, we illustrate the applicability of the results in the study of an identification problem for an initial-boundary value problem of parabolic type with mixed multivalued and non-monotone boundary conditions and a state constraint.
