Abstract:In this paper, we consider the cylindrically symmetric Finsler metrics and we obtain their Douglas curvature. Furthermore, we obtain the differential equation system of the cylindrically symmetric Finsler metrics with vanishing Douglas curvature. Many examples are included.

Abstract:A generalized Einstein-Hilbert functional in Finsler geometry is defined and its Euler-Lagrange equation is derived, which depends on not only the Ricci scalar but also the mean Landsberg curvature. Such critical metrics include usual Riemann-Einstein metrics. Some non-Riemannian examples of critical metrics are given. Moreover, some rigidity theorems for a Finsler metric to be Riemannian are obtained.

Abstract:Finsler manifolds are differentiable manifolds equipped with Riemannian metrics without the quadratic restriction. In this paper, some recent developments and new results on curvatures and fundamental groups of Finsler manifolds are summarized briefly. The contents contain the growth of fundamental groups, the entropy of manifolds and fundamental groups, the first Betti number and the finiteness of fundamental groups.

Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract:By using the volume form induced from the projective sphere bundle of the Fiusler manifold,the Finsler geometry of submanifolds is studied.The first variation formula of the volume functional for Fiusler submanifolds is derived.The second fundamental form and the mean curvature form for Finsler submanifolds are defined,which coincide with the usual notions for the Riemannian case.By deriving the divergence formula on the fiber of the projective sphere bundle,a simple equivalence expression of the mean curvature form is given.Some interesting results for Finsler submanifolds in the Minkowski space are established.

Abstract: In this paper, we classify the spherically symmetric Berwald metrics in $\mathbb{R}^n$. For the spherically symmetric Landsberg metrics, we prove that there do not exist any non-Berwald metrics among the regular case. The partial differential equation systems which can respectively characterize the spherically symmetric Finsler metrics with constant flag curvature and Einstein metrics of this type is also obtained. Utilizing these equations, we find an effective way to construct the non-projective, non-Randers Finsler metrics with constant flag curvature and many explicit examples are given by this method.

Abstract:In this paper, we study some non-Riemannian curvature properties of general spherically symmetric Finsler metrics. First, we prove that every general spherically symmetric Finsler metric is semi C-reducible. Abstract:In this paper, a new notion of scalar curvature for a Finsler metric F is introduced, and two conformal invariants Y(M, F) and C(M, F) are defined. We prove that there exists a Finsler metric with constant scalar curvature in the conformal class of F if the Cartan torsion of F is sufficiently small and Y(M, F)C(M, F) < Y (S-n) where Y(S-n) is the Yamabe constant of the standard sphere.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a class of Finsler metrics defined by a vector field on a gradient Ricci soliton. We obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for these Finsler metrics on a compact gradient Ricci soliton to be of isotropic S-curvature by establishing a new integral inequality. Then we determine the Ricci curvature of navigation Finsler metrics of isotropic S-curvature on a gradient Ricci soliton generalizing result only known in the case when such soliton is of Einstein type. As its application, we obtain the Ricci curvature of all navigation Finsler metrics of isotropic S-curvature on Gaussian shrinking soliton.

Then we explicitly express projective metrics of this type. Abstract:International Journal of Mathematics, Ahead of Print. In this paper, we study some important Remannian and non-Riemannian curvature properties of spherically symmetric Finsler metrics. Under a condition on the geodesic coefficient, we find the necessary and sufficient conditions under which spherically symmetric metrics are of scalar flag curvature, [math]-quadratic or projectively Ricci-flat. For spherically symmetric metrics of relatively isotropic Landsberg curvature, we find the necessary and sufficient conditions under which these metrics are of constant flag curvature or Ricci-quadratic. Finally, we prove a rigidity result that every spherically symmetric metric of relatively isotropic Landsberg curvature is Ricci-quadratic if and only if it is a Berwald metric. Moreover, if the Finsler metric is negatively complete then it reduces to a Riemannian metric.

Abstract:In this paper, we study Finsler metrics of constant S-curvature. First we produce infinitely many Randers metrics with non-zero (constant) S-curvature which have vanishing H-curvature. They are counterexamples to Theorem 1.2 in [20]. Then we show that the existence of (alpha, beta)-metrics with arbitrary constant S-curvature in each dimension which is not Randers type by extending Li-Shen' construction.
