Abstract:We show that the color restriction map $\mathrm{Op}^h({\mathcal{SC}}_m,{\mathcal{SC}}_n)\to \mathrm{Op}^h({\mathcal E}_{m-1},{\mathcal E}_{n-1})$ from the derived mapping space of Swiss cheese operads to that of little discs operads, is a weak homotopy equivalence. We explain how this may help in the study of disc concordance embedding spaces.

Abstract:We construct a (coloured) operad RL in the category of sets that may be thought of as a combinatorial model for the Swiss Cheese operad. By adapting Batanin-Berger's condensation process we obtain a topological (resp. chain) operad weakly equivalent to the topological (resp. chain) Swiss Cheese operad. As an application, we exhibit models for relative loop spaces acted on by Swiss Cheese type operads (in dimension 2).

Abstract:For an associative algebra A we consider the pair "the Hochschild cochain complex C*(A,A) and the algebra A". There is a natural 2-colored operad which acts on this pair. We show that this operad is quasi-isomorphic to the singular chain operad of Voronov's Swiss Cheese operad. This statement is the Swiss Cheese version of the Deligne conjecture formulated by M. Kontsevich in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="math/9904055" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/math/9904055">arXiv:math/9904055</a>.

Abstract:In this paper we show that the relation between Kajiura-Stasheff's OCHA and A. Voronov's swiss-cheese operad is analogous to the relation between SH Lie algebras and the little discs operad. More precisely, we show that the OCHA operad is quasi-isomorphic to the operad of top-dimensional homology classes of the swiss-cheese operad.

Abstract:According to the Dold-Kan correspondence, the normalization functor determines a categorical equivalence between simplicial abelian groups and non-negatively graded chain complexes. Nevertheless, the same statement is no longer true when extending to the context of algebras over an operad. In spite of this, the existence of the Dold-Kan correspondence for operadic algebras can still be realized from a homotopy-theoretic perspective. This was indeed observed for $A_\infty$-algebras by Schwede-Shipley, and for $E_\infty$-algebras by Mandell, and more generally, for algebras over any $\Sigma$-cofibrant operad due to White-Yau. In the first part of the paper, we shall prove further that the normalization functor induces an equivalence between the $\infty$-categories of operads with non-fixed sets of colors, in the Dwyer-Kan homotopy theory framework. Subsequently, we delve into investigating the mapping spaces between enriched operads by relating them to mapping spaces between operadic bimodules via nice fiber sequences. The validity of the main statements is examined first for simplicial operads, and then for connective dg operads due to the operadic Dold-Kan correspondence.

Abstract:We build a model in groupoids for the Swiss-Cheese operad, based on parenthesized permutations and braids, and we relate algebras over this model to the classical description of algebras over the homology of the Swiss-Cheese operad. We extend our model to a rational model for the Swiss-Cheese operad, and we compare it to the model that we would get if the operad Swiss-Cheese were formal.

Abstract:Let $A$ be a $1$-algebra. The Kontsevich Swiss Cheese conjecture [K2] states that the homotopy category $\mathrm{Ho}(\mathrm{Act}(A))$ of actions of $2$-algebras on $A$ has a final object and that this object is weakly equivalent to the pair $(\mathrm{Hoch}(A), A)$, where $\mathrm{Hoch}(A)$ is the cochain Hochschild complex of $A$. Here the category of actions is the category whose objects are pairs $(B,A)$ which are algebras of the chain Swiss Cheese operad such that the induced action of the little interval operad on the component $A$ coincides with the $1$-structure on $A$. We prove that there is a colored dg operad ${O}$ with 2 colors, weakly equivalent to the chain Swiss Cheese operad for which the following ``stricter" version of the Kontsevich Swiss Cheese conjecture holds. Denote the two colors of ${O}$ by $a$ (for the 1-algebra argument) and $c$ (for the 2-algebra argument), denote by $E_1^{O}$ the restriction of ${O}$ to the color $a$, and by $E_2^{O}$ the restriction of ${O}$ to the color $c$. Let $\mathrm{Alg}({O})$ be the category of dg algebras over ${O}$. For a fixed $1$-algebra $A$ we also have the the category of action $\mathrm{Alg}({O})_A$ (equal to $\mathrm{Act}(A)$ in case of the Swiss Cheese operad). We prove that there is an equivalence of categories $$\mathrm{Alg}({O})_A \cong \mathrm{Alg}(E_2^{O})/\mathrm{Hoch}(A)$$ We stress that for this particular model of Swiss Cheese operad the statement holds on the chain level, without passage to the homotopy category.

Abstract:From a map of operads $\eta : O\rightarrow O'$, we introduce a cofibrant replacement of the operad $O$ in the category of bimodules over itself such that the corresponding model of the derived mapping space of bimodules $Bimod_{O}^{h}(O;O')$ is an algebra over the one dimensional little cubes operad $\mathcal{C}_{1}$. In the present work, we also build an explicit weak equivalence of $\mathcal{C}_{1}$-algebras from the loop space $\Omega Operad^{h}(O;O')$ to $Bimod_{O}^{h}(O;O')$.

Abstract:We construct a tower of fibrations approximating the derived mapping space between two simplicially enriched operads subject to mild conditions. The n-th stage of the tower is obtained by neglecting operations with more than n inputs. The main theorem describes the layers of this tower.

Abstract Swiss Cheese Space and the Classicalisation of Swiss Cheeses

Abstract:Swiss cheese sets are compact subsets of the complex plane obtained by deleting a sequence of open disks from a closed disk. Such sets have provided numerous counterexamples in the theory of uniform algebras. In this paper, we introduce a topological space whose elements are what we call "abstract Swiss cheeses". Working within this topological space, we show how to prove the existence of "classical" Swiss cheese sets (as discussed in a paper of Feinstein and Heath from 2010) with various desired properties. We first give a new proof of the Feinstein-Heath classicalisation theorem. We then consider when it is possible to "classicalise" a Swiss cheese while leaving disks which lie outside a given region unchanged. We also consider sets obtained by deleting a sequence of open disks from a closed annulus, and we obtain an analogue of the Feinstein-Heath theorem for these sets. We then discuss regularity for certain uniform algebras. We conclude with an application of these techniques to obtain a classical Swiss cheese set which has the same properties as a non-classical example of O'Farrell (1979).

Abstract:Abstract The Swiss-Cheese operads, which encode actions of algebras over the little n-cubes operad on algebras over the little $(n-1)$-cubes operad, comes in several variants. We prove that the variant in which open operations must have at least one open input is not formal in characteristic zero. This is slightly stronger than earlier results of Livernet and Willwacher. The obstruction to formality that we find lies in arity $(2, 2^n)$, rather than $(2, 0)$ (Livernet) or $(4, 0)$ (Willwacher).

Abstract:Using configuration space level Pontryagin--Thom constructions, we construct a simple Koszul self duality map for the little disks operad $\Sigma^\infty_+ E_n$. For a framed $n$-manifold $M$, we show that a compatible self duality map exists for $\Sigma^\infty_+ E_M$.

Abstract:We introduce a construction that associates, to each finite dimensional k-vector space V, a family of projective k-varieties that comes equipped with the structure of a operad in the category of k-schemes. When dim V = 1, this operad contains, as a suboperad, the family of moduli spaces of stably marked rational curves. For general V, our operad contains the family of Chen-Gibney-Krashen moduli spaces of stably marked trees of projective spaces as a suboperad. We realize our operad as part of a larger theory that describes how to construct operads from suitable functors. Given a category C that satisfies conditions allowing us to consider the operation of "substituting a value into an argument" within C, and given any functor F on C satisfying a variant of right-exactness, we construct a version of a set-valued operad whose inputs are given by objects in C. When C happens to be the category of nonempty finite sets, we obtain operads in the classic sense. Finally, we show that in many cases it is possible to realize these operads as disjoint unions of quiver Grassmannians.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct the moduli space of marked oper structures on a closed, oriented smooth surface of negative Euler characteristic as a holomorphic fiber bundle over Teichm\"{u}ller space. We prove that the holonomy map from the space of marked oper structures to the moduli space of reductive flat bundles is a holomorphic immersion, generalizing the known results for the moduli space of marked complex projective structures. Finally, we prove that the symplectic structure on the moduli space of marked complex projective structures extends to a pre-symplectic structure on the moduli space of marked opers whose reduced phase space is the space of marked complex projective structures.
Formality of the framed little 2-discs operad and semidirect products

Abstract:We prove that the operad of framed little 2-discs is formal. Tamarkin and Kontsevich each proved that the unframed 2-discs operad is formal. The unframed 2-discs is an operad in the category of S^1-spaces, and the framed 2-discs operad can be constructed from the unframed 2-discs by forming the operadic semidirect product with the circle group. The idea of our proof is to show that Kontsevich's chain of quasi-isomorphisms is compatible with the circle actions and so one can essentially take the operadic semidirect product with the homology of S^1 everywhere to obtain a chain of quasi-isomorphisms between the homology and the chains of the framed 2-discs.

On operadic open-closed maps in characteristic $p$

Abstract:Consider a closed monotone symplectic manifold $(M,\omega)$. \cite{Gan2} constructed a cyclic open-closed map, which goes from the cyclic homology of the Fukaya category of $M$ to the $S^1$-equivariant quantum cohomology of $M$. In this paper, we show that with mod $p$ coefficients, Ganatra's cyclic open-closed map is compatible with a certain $\mathbb{Z}/p$-equivariant open-closed map under the natural $\mathbb{Z}/p$-Gysin type comparison map for Hochschild homology. Along with the proof, this paper gives a new homotopy theoretic framework for studying open-closed maps in symplectic topology. These will be used in an upcoming work \cite{Che} to study mod $p$ equivariant enumerative invariants such as the Quantum Steenrod operations. The main insights of this paper are: 1) a $\mathbb{Z}/p$-Gysin comparison result for ($\mathcal{A}_{\infty}$-) cyclic objects, 2) a new construction of the open-closed map using operadic Floer theory of \cite{AGV}, which gives rise to a new interpretation of its `$S^1$-equivariant' property, and 3) comparison of the new construction with its classical counterpart.

Abstract:In the present work, we realize the space of 2-string links $\mathcal{L}$ as a free algebra over a colored operad denoted $\mathcal{SCL}$ (for "Swiss-Cheese for links"). This result extends works of Burke and Koytcheff about the quotient of $\mathcal{L}$ by its center and is compatible with Budney's freeness theorem for long knots. From an algebraic point of view, our main result refines Blaire, Burke and Koytcheff's theorem on the monoid of isotopy classes of string links. Topologically, it expresses the homotopy type of the isotopy class of a 2-string link in terms of the homotopy types of the classes of its prime factors.

Abstract:We introduce a generalized Maximum Abelian Gauge (MAG). We work with this new gauge on 12^4 lattices for beta=5.7,5.8 and 16^4 lattices for beta=5.9,6.0. We also introduce a form of abelian projection related to the generalized MAG. We measure U(1)xU(1) wilson loops and single color magnetic current densities.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct an action of the fundamental groupoid of the Swiss-cheese operad (the parenthesized permutation and braid operad) on $C_1$-cofinite module categories of a vertex operator algebra. Based on this result, we show that when a boundary conformal field theory has locally $C_1$-cofinite chiral symmetry, all operator product expansions converge absolutely on open regions in the configuration spaces of the upper half-plane and define real analytic functions (the correlation functions), independent of orders and parentheses of OPEs.
