Abstract:We explore some connections between vectors of integers and integer partitions seen as bi-infinite words. This methodology enables us on the one hand to obtain enumerations connecting products of hook lengths and vectors of integers. This yields on the other hand a combinatorial interpretation of the Macdonald identities for affine root systems of the $7$ infinite families in terms of Schur functions, symplectic and special orthogonal Schur functions. From these results, we are able to derive $q$-Nekrasov--Okounkov formulas associated to each type. The latter for limit cases of $q$ yield Nekrasov--Okounkov type formulas corresponding to all the specializations given by Macdonald.

Abstract:We expand the affine Weyl denominator formulas as signed $q$-series of ordinary Weyl characters running over the affine Grassmannian. Here the grading in $q$ coincides with the (dual) atomic length of the root system considered as introduced by Chapelier-Laget and Gerber. Next, we give simple expressions of the atomic lengths in terms of self-conjugate core partitions. This permits in particular to rederive, from the general theory of affine root systems, some results of the second author obtained by case-by-case computations on determinants and the use of particular families of self-conjugate or doubled distinct partitions. These families are proved to be in simple one-to-one correspondences with families of distinct partitions and thus with the previous core partition model and, through this correspondence, the atomic length on cores equates the rank of the strict partitions considered. Finally, we make explicit some interactions between the affine Grassmannian elements and the Nekrasov--Okounkov type formulas. For the affine Weyl group of type A, this connection permits to count the cardinalities of some refinements of the inversion sets by using the hook lengths of the corresponding cores.

Macdonald Duality and the proof of the Quantum Q-system conjecture

Abstract:The $SL(2,\mathbb Z)$-symmetry of Cherednik's spherical double affine Hecke algebras in Macdonald theory includes a distinguished generator which acts as a discrete time evolution of Macdonald operators, which can also be interpreted as a torus Dehn twist in type $A$. We prove for all twisted and untwisted affine algebras of type $ABCD$ that the time-evolved $q$-difference Macdonald operators, in the $t\to\infty$ $q$-Whittaker limit, form a representation of the associated discrete integrable quantum Q-systems, which are obtained, in all but one case, via the canonical quantization of suitable cluster algebras. The proof relies strongly on the duality property of Macdonald and Koornwinder polynomials, which allows, in the $q$-Whittaker limit, for a unified description of the quantum Q-system variables and the conserved quantities as limits of the time-evolved Macdonald operators and the Pieri operators, respectively. The latter are identified with relativistic $q$-difference Toda Hamiltonians. A crucial ingredient in the proof is the use of the "Fourier transformed" picture, in which we compute time-translation operators and prove that they commute with the Pieri operators or Hamiltonians. We also discuss the universal solutions of Koornwinder-Macdonald eigenvalue and Pieri equations, for which we prove a duality relation, which simplifies the proofs further.

Abstract:When one expands a Schur function in terms of the irreducible characters of the symplectic (or orthogonal) group, the coefficient of the trivial character is 0 unless the indexing partition has an appropriate form. A number of q-analogues of this fact were conjectured in math.QA/0112035; the present paper proves most of those conjectures, as well as some new identities suggested by the proof technique. The proof involves showing that a nonsymmetric version of the relevant integral is annihilated by a suitable ideal of the affine Hecke algebra, and that any such annihilated functional satisfies the desired vanishing property. This does not, however, give rise to vanishing identities for the standard nonsymmetric Macdonald and Koornwinder polynomials; we discuss the required modification to these polynomials to support such results.

This formula provides a connection between the theory of Macdonald operators initiated by Bergeron, Garsia, Haiman and Tesler, and shifted Macdonald polynomials introduced by Knop, Lassalle, Okounkov and Sahi.

Abstract:This is the third installment in a series of papers on a one-parameter extension of the Rogers–Ramanujan identities (this extension was discovered independently by Rogers and Ramanujan). In this paper, we report a new proof of this identity. Our key ingredient is the Bridge Lemma, an identity that connects the both sides of the one-parameter refinement, which differ significantly in terms of their complexity.

Abstract:Using vertex operators we study Macdonald symmetric functions of rectangular shapes and their connection with the q-Dyson Laurent polynomial. We find a vertex operator realization of Macdonald functions and give a generalized Frobenius formula for them. As byproducts of the realization, we find a q-Dyson constant term orthogonality relation which generalizes a conjecture due to Kadell (2000), and we generalize Matsumoto's hyperdeterminant formula for rectangular Jack functions to Macdonald functions.

Abstract:The Cauchy identities play an important role in the theory of symmetric functions. It is known that Cauchy sums for the $q$-Whittaker and the skew Schur polynomials produce the same factorized expressions modulo a $q$-Pochhammer symbol. We consider the sums with restrictions on the length of the first rows for labels of both polynomials and prove an identity which relates them. The proof is based on techniques from integrable probability: we rewrite the identity in terms of two probability measures: the $q$-Whittaker measure and the periodic Schur measure. The relation follows by comparing their Fredholm determinant formulas.

The MacWilliams Identity for Krawtchouk Association Schemes

Abstract:The MacWilliams Identity is a well established theorem relating the weight enumerator of a code to the weight enumerator of its dual. The ability to use a known weight enumerator to generate the weight enumerator of another through a simple transform proved highly effective and efficient. An equivalent relation was also developed by Delsarte which linked the eigenvalues of any association scheme to the eigenvalues of it's dual association scheme but this was less practical to use in reality. A functional transform was developed for some specific association schemes including those based on the rank metric, the skew rank metric and Hermitian matrices. In this paper those results are unified into a single consistent theory applied to these "Krawtchouk association schemes" using a $b$-algebra. The derivatives formed using the $b$-algebra have also been applied to derive the moments of the weight distribution for any code within these association schemes.

Moreover, under certain conditions, we present topological proofs of the infiniteness of maximal ideals and non-associated irreducible elements, taking advantage of the hyperconnectedness of the Macías topology. Additionally, some problems are proposed.

Abstract:For an almost split Kac-Moody group G over a local non-archimedean field, the last two authors constructed a spherical Hecke algebra H (over the complex numbers C, say) and its Satake isomorphism with the commutative algebra of Weyl invariant elements in some formal series algebra C[[Y]].In this article, we prove a Macdonald's formula, i.e. an explicit formula for the image of a basis element of H. The proof involves geometric arguments in the masure associated to G and algebraic tools, including the Cherednik's representation of the Bernstein-Lusztig-Hecke algebra (introduced in a previous article) and the Cherednik's identity between some symmetrizers.

A Geometric Realization of Partially-Symmetric Macdonald Polynomials

Abstract:We formulate a precise conjecture relating integral form partially-symmetric Macdonald polynomials and the parabolic flag Hilbert schemes of Carlsson, Gorsky, and Mellit. This extends, in an explicit fashion, Haiman's realization of modified Macdonald symmetric functions via Hilbert schemes of points in the plane. As evidence for our conjecture we prove that it is compatible with the action of certain elements in Carlsson and Mellit's algebra $\mathbb{A}_{t,q}$, including degree $1$ Pieri formulas.

Abstract:The (dual) Cauchy identity has an easy algebraic proof utilising a commutation relation between the up and (dual) down operators. By using Fomin's growth diagrams, a bijective proof of the commutation relation can be "bijectivised" to obtain RSK like correspondences. In this paper we give a concise overview of this machinery and extend it to Littlewood type identities by introducing a new family of relations between these operators, called projection identities. Thereby we obtain infinite families of bijections for the Littlewood identities generalising the classical ones. We believe that this approach will be useful for finding bijective proofs for Littlewood type identities in other settings such as for Macdonald polynomials and their specialisations, alternating sign matrices or vertex models.

Abstract:In this paper, we present an investigation of the Gopakumar-Vafa (GV) invariant, a curve-counting integral invariant associated with Calabi-Yau threefolds, as proposed by physicists. Building upon the conjectural definition of the GV invariant in terms of perverse sheaves, as formulated by Maulik-Toda in 2016, we focus on the total space of the canonical bundle of $\mathbb{P}^2$ and compute the relevant invariants. We establish a conjectural correspondence between the Gopakumar-Vafa and Pandharipande-Thomas invariants at the level of perverse sheaves, drawing inspiration from the work of Migliorini, Shende, and Viviani. This work serves as a significant step towards validating the conjecture and deepening our understanding of the GV invariant and its connections to algebraic geometry and physics.
