Abstract:A set of bounded linear operators from a Banach space to a Banach lattice is collectively L-weakly compact whenever union of images of the unit ball is L-weakly compact. We extend the Meyer-Nieberg duality theorem to collectively L-weakly compact sets of operators, study relations between these sets and collectively almost limited sets, and discuss the domination problem for collectively compact sets and collectively L-weakly compact sets.

Abstract:It is proved that: each collectively order continuous set of operators from an Archimedean ordered vector space to an ordered vector space is collectively order bounded; each collectively order to norm bounded set of operators from an ordered Banach space with a closed generating cone to a normed space is norm bounded; collectively r-continuous sets agree with collectively order bounded ones when the space in the range has a generating cone. Several applications to operator semigroups are given.

Abstract:We investigate the $o\tau$-continuous/bounded/compact and Lebesgue operators from vector lattices to topological vector spaces; the KB operators between locally solid lattices and topological vector spaces; and the Levi operators from locally solid lattices to vector lattices. The main idea of operator versions of notions related to vector lattices lies in redistributing topological and order properties of a topological vector lattice between the domain and range of an operator under investigation. Domination properties for these classes of operators are studied.

Abstract:Let (S, σ, μ) be a space with a nonatomic measure and assume that there is given a sequence Tn, n ⩾ 1, of integral operators where the kernels are measurable and bounded. One shows that (under certain assumptions), for any function from LP, 1 ⩽ p < ∞, one can rearrange the values on the sets of arbitrarily small measure (or to interchange the sign on sets of arbitrarily small measure) so that for the obtained function g, the sequence Tng converges in LP as n → ∞. From here it follows that for any function from LP, 1 ⩽ p < 2, by rearrangements or by arrangements of signs, one can achieve that the series with respect to any given orthonormal family of bounded functions, complete in L2, should converge in LP. Similar questions are investigated for the convergence almost everywhere and the integrability of the maximal operator.

Abstract:Let $X,\,Y$ be Banach spaces and fix a linear operator $T \in \mathcal {L}(X,\,Y)$ and ideals $\mathcal {I},\, \mathcal {J}$ on the nonnegative integers. We obtain Silverman–Toeplitz type theorems on matrices $A=(A_{n,k}: n,\,k \in \omega )$ of linear operators in $\mathcal {L}(X,\,Y)$ , so that \[ \mathcal{J}\text{-}\lim A\boldsymbol{x}=T(\mathcal{I}\text{-}\lim \boldsymbol{x}) \] for every $X$ -valued sequence $\boldsymbol {x}=(x_0,\,x_1,\,\ldots )$ which is $\mathcal {I}$ -convergent (and bounded). This allows us to establish the relationship between the classical Silverman–Toeplitz characterization of regular matrices and its multidimensional analogue for double sequences, its variant for matrices of linear operators, and the recent version (for the scalar case) in the context of ideal convergence. As byproducts, we obtain characterizations of several matrix classes and a generalization of the classical Hahn–Schur theorem. In the proofs we use an ideal version of the Banach–Steinhaus theorem which has been recently obtained by De Bondt and Vernaeve [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 495 (2021)].

Abstract:We prove that an order continuous Banach lattice E is a KB-space if and only if each positive compact operator on E is a KB operator. We give conditions on quasi-KB (resp., quasi-Levi) operators to be KB (resp., Levi), study norm completeness and domination for these operators, and show that neither KB nor Levi operators are stable under rank one perturbations.

Abstract:An ordered Banach space $X$ is said to have the Levi property or to be regular if every increasing order bounded net (equivalently, sequence) is norm convergent. We prove four theorems related to this classical concept: (i) The Levi property follows from the - formally weaker - assumption that every increasing net that has a minimal upper bound is norm convergent. This motivates a discussion about in which sense the Levi property resembles the notion of order continuous norm from Banach lattice theory. (ii) If $X$ is separable and has normal cone, then the assumption that every increasing order bounded sequence has a supremum implies the Levi property. This generalizes a classical result about Banach lattices, but requires new ideas since one cannot work with disjoint sequences in the proof. (iii) A version of Dini's theorem for ordered Banach spaces that is more general than what is typically stated in the literature. We use this to derive a sufficient condition for the space of all compact operators between two Banach lattices to have the Levi property. (iv) Dini's theorem never holds on reflexive ordered Banach spaces with non-normal cone - i.e., on such a space one can always find an increasing sequence that converges weakly but not in norm. We illustrate our results by various examples and counterexamples and pose four open problems.

Abstract:In the present paper we continue the project of systematic construction of invariant differential operators on the example of the non-compact algebras $sp(n,1)$. Our choice of these algebras is motivated by the fact that they belong to a narrow class of algebras, which are of split rank one, of which class the other cases were studied, some long time ago. We concentrate on the case $n=2$. We give the main multiplets and the main reduced multiplets of indecomposable elementary representations for, including the necessary data for all relevant invariant differential operators. We also present explicit expressions for the singular vectors and for the intertwining differential operators.

Rigidity of operator systems: tight extensions and noncommutative measurable structures

Abstract:Let $A$ be a unital $C^*$-algebra generated by some separable operator system $S$. More than a decade ago, Arveson conjectured that $S$ is hyperrigid in $A$ if all irreducible representations of $A$ are boundary representations for $S$. Recently, a counterexample to the conjecture was found by Bilich and Dor-On. To circumvent the difficulties hidden in this counterexample, we exploit some of Pedersen's seminal ideas on noncommutative measurable structures and establish an amended version of Arveson's conjecture. More precisely, we show that all irreducible representations of $A$ are boundary representations for $S$ precisely when all representations of $A$ admit a unique "tight" completely positive extension from $S$. In addition, we prove an equivalence between uniqueness of such tight extensions and rigidity of completely positive approximations for representations of nuclear $C^*$-algebras, thereby extending the classical principle of Korovkin--Saskin for commutative algebras.

Eigenspaces of Coleman's Trace Operator

Abstract:The Coleman power series defined on a Lubin-Tate tower of extensions over $K$ are compatible with respect to two formal group laws: the multiplicative formal group law and some Lubin-Tate formal group law defined over $\mathcal{O}_K$. We ask if it is possible to generalize these power series in order to find power series which are compatible with respect to two Lubin-Tate formal group laws in the same way. We provide a precise formulation of this question and a partial answer towards the classification of all such power series which involves the eigenspaces of Coleman's trace operator. Some additional eigenspaces of Coleman's trace operator are also introduced.

Abstract:The given study uses the methods to identify compactifications of semigroups $S\subset L(X),$ which reside in the space $L(X).$ This method generalizes in some sense the deLeeuw-Glicksberg-Theory to a greater class of functions. The approach provides an abstract approach to several notions of almost periodicity, which mainly involving right semitopological semigroups \cite{RuppertLNM}, and the adjoint theory. Moreover, the given setting is refined to the case of bounded $C_0-$semigroups.

Locally solid convergences and order continuity of positive operators

Abstract:We consider vector lattices endowed with locally solid convergence structures, which are not necessarily topological. We show that such a convergence is defined by the convergence to $0$ on the positive cone. Some results on unbounded modification which were only available in partial cases are generalized. Order convergence is characterized as the strongest locally solid convergence in which monotone nets converge to their extremums (if they exist). We partially characterize sublattices on which the order convergence is the restriction of the order convergence of the ambient lattice. We show that homomorphism is order continuous iff it is uo-continuous. Uo convergence is characterized independently of order convergence. We show that on the space of continuous function uo convergence is weaker than the compact open convergence iff the underlying topological space contains a dense locally compact subspace. For a large class of convergences we prove that a positive operator is order continuous if and only if its restriction to a dense regular sublattice is order continuous, and that the closure of a regular sublattice is regular with the original sublattice being order dense in the closure. We also present an example of a regular sublattice of a locally solid topological vector lattice whose closure is not regular.
