Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the properties and the precise solutions of the Mordukhovich derivatives of the set-valued metric projection operator onto some closed balls in some general Banach spaces. In the Banach space c, we find the properties of Mordukhovich derivatives of the set-valued metric projection operator onto the closed subspace c0. We show that the metric projection from C[0, 1] to polynormal with degree less than or equal to n is a single-valued mapping. We investigate its Mordukhovich derivatives and Gateaux directional derivatives.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity of optimal mappings in Monge's mass transfer problem. Using the approximation to Monge's cost function c(x, y) = vertical bar x - y vertical bar through the costs c(x, y) = root epsilon(2) + vertical bar x - y vertical bar(2), we consider the optimal mappings T-epsilon for these costs, and we prove that the eigenvalues of the Jacobian matrix DT epsilon, which are all positive, are locally uniformly bounded. By an example we prove that T-epsilon is in general not uniformly Lipschitz continuous as epsilon -> 0, even if the mass distributions are positive and smooth, and the domains are c-convex. Abstract:In this paper, we investigate some fixed-point properties of the Mordukhovich differential operator of set valued mappings (or, single valued mappings) on Banach spaces. In particular, we study the fixed-point properties of the Mordukhovich differential operator for the metric projection operator onto some closed and convex subsets in Banach spaces, such as, closed balls in Banach spaces, positive cones in real spaces l2 and l1 and sets of polynomials in C[0, 1].

We find exact expressions for Mordukhovich derivatives (which are also called Mordukhovich coderivatives) for the metric projection operator onto closed balls in Hilbert spaces and positive cones in Euclidean spaces and in real Hilbert space l 2 . We investigate the connection between Frèchet derivatives, Gâteaux directional derivatives and the Mordukhovich derivatives of the metric projection in Hilbert spaces.

In particular, we show that the Fréchet subdifferential and the proximal subdifferential of a perturbed distance function are representable by virtue of corresponding normal cones of S and subdifferentials of J (·).

Abstract:Let C[0, 1] be the Banach space of all continuous real valued functions on [0, 1]. For an arbitrarily given nonnegative integer n, let Pn denote the set of all polynomials with degree less than or equal to n. Pn is a closed subspace of C[0, 1]. In this paper, we first prove (in details) that the metric projection operator from C[0, 1] to Pn is a single-valued mapping and it is (norm to norm) continuous. Then, we use the continuity of Pn to investigate the Gateaux directional derivatives, some properties and fixed-point properties of the Mordukhovich derivatives of the metric projection operator.

Abstract:We study mappings differentiable almost everywhere, possessing the N-Luzin property, the N?1-property on the spheres with respect to the (n ? 1)-dimensional Hausdorff measure and such that the image of the set where its Jacobian equals to zero has a zero Lebesgue measure. It is proved that such mappings satisfy the lower bound for the Poletsky-type distortion in their definition domain.

Abstract:Calculating the directional derivative of a class of the set-valued mappings G(x) = fz jAz · h(x)g, in the sense of Tyurin (1965) and Banks & Jacobs (1970) is presented that can be viewed as an extension to the one given by Pecherskaya. Results obtained in this paper are used to get a bound of the Lipschitz constant for the solution sets of the perturbed Linear Programming. This new bound is smaller than the one, due to Li (1994).

Abstract:In this paper, we use the Mordukhovich derivatives to precisely find the covering constants for the metric projection operator onto nonempty closed and convex subsets in uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Banach spaces. We consider three cases of the subsets: closed balls in uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Banach spaces, closed and convex cylinders in l, and the positive cone in L, for some p. By using Theorem 3.1 in [2] and as applications of covering constants obtained in this paper, we prove the solvability of some stochastic fixed-point problems. We also provide three examples with specific solutions of stochastic fixed-point problems.

Abstract:The article is devoted to the study of mappings that satisfy the so-called inverse Poletsky inequality. We consider mappings of quasiextremal distance domains, domains with a locally quasiconformal boundary, and domains which are regular in the sense of prime ends onto domains with a locally quasiconformal boundary, regular domains, or domains which are locally Hölder equivalent to a half-ball on its boundary. For such mappings, we have obtained the Hölder logarithmic continuity in some neighborhood of its boundary points.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish some quotient calculus rules in terms of contingent derivatives for the two extended-real-valued functions defined on a Banach space and study a nonsmooth multiobjective fractional programming problem with set, generalized inequality and equality constraints. We define a new parametric problem associated with these problem and introduce some concepts for the (local) weak minimizers to such problems. Some primal and dual necessary optimality conditions in terms of contingent derivatives for the local weak minimizers are provided. Under suitable assumptions, sufficient optimality conditions for the local weak minimizers which are very close to necessary optimality conditions are obtained. An application of the result for establishing three parametric, Mond–Weir and Wolfe dual problems and several various duality theorems for the same is presented. Some examples are also given for our findings.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the directional differentiability of metric projection and its properties in uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Bochner space Lp(S; X), in which (S, A, mu) is a positive measure space and X is a uniformly convex and uniformly smooth Banach space. Let (arbitrary) A in A with measure of A greater than 0 and define a subspace Lp(A; X) of Lp(S; X), which is considered as a closed and convex subset of Lp(S; X). We first study the properties of the normalized duality mapping in Lp(S; X) and in Lp(A; X). For any c in Lp(A; X) and r > 0, we define a closed ball BA(c; r) in Lp(A; X) and a cylinder CA(c; r) in Lp(S; X) with base BA(c; r). Then, we investigate some optimal properties of the corresponding metric projections P(Lp(A;X)), P(BA(c;r)) and P(CA(c;r)) that include the inverse images, the directional differentiability and the precise solutions of their directional derivatives.
