What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper attempts to address various challenges present in the acquisition process of neuro MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). Specifically, these issues include: 1. **Complex and time-consuming data acquisition process**: MRI scanning requires meticulous planning, positioning, and setting of scanning parameters. Differences between operators can lead to inconsistent image quality. 2. **Shortage of skilled personnel**: Particularly in developing countries, there is a scarcity of skilled MRI technicians, leading to an urgent need for automated and intelligent acquisition solutions. 3. **Long scanning times**: Prolonged scanning not only increases patient discomfort but can also trigger Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS) and Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limitations, restricting the application of advanced sequences. 4. **Field inhomogeneity**: Factors such as B0 and B1+ field inhomogeneity and patient movement can lead to signal degradation and imaging artifacts. 5. **Standardization and consistency**: The lack of standardized and consistent protocols results in significant variability between different operators. To address these challenges, the paper reviews the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in neuro MRI acquisition in recent years, including the following aspects: - **Acquisition planning**: Automatic selection of Regions of Interest (ROI), automatic positioning, and shimming. - **Pulse sequence design**: Optimization of Radio Frequency (RF) pulses and k-space sampling trajectories to improve image quality and acquisition efficiency. - **Artifact correction**: Using AI technology to correct artifacts caused by field inhomogeneity, such as geometric distortions, signal loss, and blurring. Through these methods, AI technology is expected to significantly improve the efficiency, consistency, and image quality of neuro MRI acquisition, thereby advancing clinical practice.
