Abstract:In this paper, we consider and study in detail the generalized Fox–Wright function pΨ ̃q introduced in our recent work as an extension of the Fox–Wright function pΨq. This special function can be seen as an important case of the so-called I-functions of Rathie and H ̄-functions of Inayat-Hussain, that in turn extend the Fox H-functions and appear to include some Feynman integrals in statistical physics, in polylogarithms, in Riemann Zeta-type functions and in other important mathematical functions. Depending on the parameters, pΨ ̃q is an entire function or is analytic in an open disc with a final radius. We derive its basic properties, such as its order and type, and its images under the Laplace transform and under classical fractional-order integrals. Particular cases of pΨ ̃q are specified, including the Mittag-Leffler and Le Roy-type functions and their multi-index analogues and many other special functions of Fractional Calculus. The corresponding results are illustrated. Finally, we emphasize the role of these new generalized hypergeometric functions as eigenfunctions of operators of new Fractional Calculus with specific I-functions as singular kernels. This paper can be considered as a natural supplement to our previous surveys "Going Next after `A Guide to Special Functions in Fractional Calculus': A Discussion Survey", and "A Guide to Special Functions of Fractional Calculus", published recently in this journal.

Finite Integrals from Feynman Polytopes

Abstract:We investigate a geometric approach to determining the complete set of numerators giving rise to finite Feynman integrals. Our approach proceeds graph by graph, and makes use of the Newton polytope associated to the integral's Symanzik polynomials. It relies on a theorem by Berkesch, Forsgård, and Passare on the convergence of Euler--Mellin integrals, which include Feynman integrals. We conjecture that a necessary in addition to a sufficient condition is that all parameter-space monomials lie in the interior of the polytope. We present an algorithm for finding all finite numerators based on this conjecture. In a variety of examples, we find agreement between the results obtained using the geometric approach, and a Landau-analysis approach developed by Gambuti, Tancredi, and two of the authors.

Reclassifying Feynman integrals as special functions

Abstract:Although Feynman integrals in general cannot be expressed as well-studied special functions, they can be calculated systematically and efficiently using the \texttt{AMFlow} method in combination with differential equations in the kinematic space. Therefore, it is constructive to define Feynman integrals as a new class of special functions (or transcedental numbers if there is no kinematic variable). Several crucial avenues for further exploration in this direction are outlined.

Abstract:We embed Feynman integrals in the subvarieties of Grassmannians through homogenization of the integrands in projective space, then obtain Gel'fand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky systems satisfied by those scalar integrals. The Feynman integral can be written as linear combinations of the hypergeometric functions of a fundamental solution system in neighborhoods of regular singularities of the Gel'fand-Kapranov-Zelevinsky system, whose linear combination coefficients are determined by the integral on an ordinary point or some regular singularities. Taking some Feynman diagrams as examples, we elucidate in detail how to obtain the fundamental solution systems of Feynman integrals in neighborhoods of regular singularities. Finite Feynman Integrals

Abstract:We describe an algorithm to organize Feynman integrals in terms of their infrared properties. Our approach builds upon the theory of Landau singularities, which we use to classify all configurations of loop momenta that can give rise to infrared divergences. We then construct bases of numerators for arbitrary Feynman integrals, which cancel all singularities and render the integrals finite. Through the same analysis, one can also classify so-called evanescent and evanescently finite Feynman integrals. These are integrals whose vanishing or finiteness relies on properties of dimensional regularization. To illustrate the use of these integrals, we display how to obtain a simpler form for the leading-color two-loop four-gluon scattering amplitude through the choice of a suitable basis of finite integrals. In particular, when all gluon helicities are equal, we show that with our basis the most complicated double-box integrals do not contribute to the finite remainder of the scattering amplitude.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to the study of the multi-dimensional integral transform with the Fox H-function in the kernel in weighted spaces with integrable functions in the domain R+n with positive coordinates. Due to the generality of the Fox H-function, many special integral transforms have the form studied in this paper, including operators with such kernels as generalized hypergeometric functions, classical hypergeometric functions, Bessel and modified Bessel functions and so on. Moreover, most important fractional integral operators, such as the Riemann–Liouville type, are covered by the class under consideration. The mapping properties in Lebesgue-weighted spaces, such as the boundedness, the range and the representations of the considered transformation, are established. In special cases, it is applied to the specific integral transforms mentioned above. We use a modern technique based on the extensive use of the Mellin transform and its properties. Moreover, we generalize our own previous results from the one-dimensional case to the multi-dimensional one. The multi-dimensional case is more complex and needs more delicate techniques.

Abstract:It is shown that every Feynman integral can be interpreted as Green function of some linear differential operator with constant coefficients. This definition is equivalent to usual one but needs no regularization and application of $R$-operation. It is argued that presented formalism is convenient for practical calculations of Feynman integrals.

Abstract:The Feynman path integral is defined over the space $\mathbb{R}^T$ of all possible paths; it has been a powerful tool to develop Quantum Mechanics. The absolute value of Feynman's integrand is not integrable, then Lebesgue integration theory could not be used by Feynman. However, it exists formally as a Henstock integral (which does not require the measure concept) and is a suitable alternative to the ordinary integrals that normally appear in path integrals. Feynman proved the equivalence of his theory with the traditional formulation of Quantum Mechanics, since his path integral satisfies Schrödinger's equation. On the other hand, Feynman's path integral is related to the diagrams of Feynman. For the application of this integral in Feynman's diagrams it is necessary to exchange the integral $\int_{\mathbb{R}^T}$ and the series. We discuss the impossibility to exchange the integral and the sum, considering integral of Henstock and the version of Dominated Convergence Theorem. Even it has not been proved through the several mathematical formalisms that have been used.

Abstract:We show that all Feynman integrals in two Euclidean dimensions with massless propagators and arbitrary non-integer propagator powers can be expressed in terms of single-valued analogues of Aomoto-Gelfand hypergeometric functions. The latter can themselves be written as bilinears of hypergeometric functions, with coefficients that are intersection numbers in a twisted homology group. As an application, we show that all one-loop integrals in two dimensions with massless propagators can be written in terms of Lauricella functions, while the L -loop ladder integrals are related to the generalised hypergeometric L +1 F L functions.

Abstract:We introduce a type of graph integrals on elliptic curves from the heat kernel. We show that such graph integrals have modular properties under the modular group $SL(2, \Z)$, and prove the polynomial nature of the anti-holomorphic dependence.

Abstract:In this paper, the authors define a new generic class of functions involving a certain modified Fox–Wright function. A useful identity using fractional integrals and this modified Fox–Wright function with two parameters is also found. Applying this as an auxiliary result, we establish some Hermite–Hadamard-type integral inequalities by using the above-mentioned class of functions. Some special cases are derived with relevant details. Moreover, in order to show the efficiency of our main results, an application for error estimation is obtained as well.

Abstract:Closed-form integral expressions are derived here for a family of convergent Mathieu-type series and its alternating variant when their terms contain the Fox–Wright pΨq function. Some two-sided exponential bounding inequalities are then obtained for a class of Fox–Wright pΨq functions, thereby generalizing certain results of Luke. Finally, by means of the integral expressions obtained here, a number of two-sided exponential bounding inequalities are given for the aforementioned series.
Polytope symmetries of Feynman integrals

Abstract:Feynman integrals appropriately generalized are $\mathsf A$-hypergeometric functions. Among the properties of $\mathsf A$-hypergeometric functions are symmetries associated with the Newton polytope. In ordinary hypergeometric functions these symmetries lead to linear transformations. Combining tools of $\mathsf A$-hypergeometric systems and the computation of symmetries of polytopes, we consider the associated symmetries of Feynman integrals in the Lee-Pomeransky representation. We compute the symmetries of $\mathtt n$-gon integrals up to $\mathtt n=8$, massive banana integrals up to 5-loop, and on-shell ladders up to 3-loop. We apply these symmetries to study finite on-shell ladder integrals up to 3-loop.

Abstract:Integration-by-parts (IBP) identities and differential equations are the primary modern tools for the evaluation of high-order Feynman integrals. They are commonly derived and implemented in the momentum-space representation. We provide a different viewpoint on these important tools by working in Feynman-parameter space, and using its projective geometry. Our work is based upon little-known results pre-dating the modern era of loop calculations [16,17,18,19, 30, 31]: we adapt and generalise these results, deriving a very general expression for sets of IBP identities in parameter space, associated with a generic Feynman diagram, and valid to any loop order, relying on the characterisation of Feynman-parameter integrands as projective forms. We validate our method by deriving and solving systems of differential equations for several simple diagrams at one and two loops, providing a unified perspective on a number of existing results.

Abstract:We elaborate on the recent idea of a direct decomposition of Feynman integrals onto a basis of master integrals on maximal cuts using intersection numbers. We begin by showing an application of the method to the derivation of contiguity relations for special functions, such as the Euler beta function, the Gauss 2 F 1 hypergeometric function, and the Appell F 1 function. Then, we apply the new method to decompose Feynman integrals whose maximal cuts admit 1-form integral representations, including examples that have from two to an arbitrary number of loops, and/or from zero to an arbitrary number of legs. Direct constructions of differential equations and dimensional recurrence relations for Feynman integrals are also discussed. We present two novel approaches to decomposition-by-intersections in cases where the maximal cuts admit a 2-form integral representation, with a view towards the extension of the formalism to n -form representations. The decomposition formulae computed through the use of intersection numbers are directly verified to agree with the ones obtained using integration-by-parts identities.

Abstract:Integration By Parts (IBP) is an important method for computing Feynman integrals. This work describes a formulation of the theory involving a set of differential equations in parameter space, and especially the definition and study of an associated Lie group G. The group acts on parameter space and foliates it into G-orbits. The differential equations essentially provide the gradient of the integral within the orbit in terms of integrals associated with degenerate diagrams. In this way the computation of a Feynman integral at a general point in parameter space is reduced to the evaluation of the Feynman integral at some freely chosen base point on the same orbit, together with a line integral inside the G-orbit and the degenerate integrals along the path. This paper restricts to vacuum diagrams and integrals without numerators, but the method is expected to generalize. The method is demonstrated by application to the two-loop vacuum diagram. A relation between the reducibility of a diagram though IBP and the reducibility of the associated electric circuit though the Y-Delta transform is speculated.
