Abstract:We give an explicit algebraic description, based on prismatic cohomology, of the algebraic K-groups of rings of the form $O_K/I$ where $K$ is a p-adic field and $I$ is a non-trivial ideal in the ring of integers $O_K$; this class includes the rings $\mathbf{Z}/p^n$ where $p$ is a prime.

Abstract:In this note, we study the $p$-complete topological cyclic homology of the affine line relative to a ring $A$ which is smooth over a perfectoid ring $R$. Denoting by $NTC(A; \mathbb{Z}_p)$ the spectrum which measures the failure of $\mathbb{A}^1$-invariance on $A$, we observe a kind of Quillen-Lichtenbaum phenomena for $NTC(A; \mathbb{Z}_p)$ -- that it is isomorphic to its own $K(1)$-localization in a specified range of degrees which depends on the relative dimension of $A$. Somewhat surprisingly, this range is better than considerations following from a theorem of Bhatt-Mathew and étale-to-syntomic comparisons. Via the Dundas-Goodwillie-McCarthy theorem, we obtain a description of the algebraic $K$-theory of $p$-completed affine line over such rings.

Abstract:We provide an explicit computation of the topological $K$-theory groups $K_*(C_r^*(\mathbb{Z}^n\rtimes \mathbb{Z}/m))$ of semidirect products of the form $\mathbb{Z}^n\rtimes \mathbb{Z}Z/m$ with $m$ square-free. We want to highlight the fact that we are not impossing any conditions on the $\Z/m$-action on $\mathbb{Z}^n$. This generalizes previous computations of Lück-Davis and Langer-Lück.

Abstract:Let $G$ be an elementary abelian $p$-group. We calculate $K_2(\mathbb{Z}[G]/I)$ for certain ideals $I \subseteq \mathbb{Z}[G]$ of the finite $p$-power index through computations of Dennis-Stein symbols. As an application, for $p$ an odd prime, we give a complete description of the relative group $SK_1(\mathbb{Z}[G],p^k\mathbb{Z}[G])$ and obtain more precise lower bounds of the prank of $K_2(\mathbb{Z}[G])$ and $Wh_2(G)$.

Abstract:We establish connections between the concepts of Noetherian, regular coherent, and regular n-coherent categories for Z-linear categories with finitely many objects and the corresponding notions for unital rings. These connections enable us to obtain a negative K-theory vanishing result, a fundamental theorem, and a homotopy invariance result for the K-theory of Z-linear categories.

Abstract:We study the algebraic $K$-theory of the ring of continuous functions on a compact Hausdorff space with values in a local division ring, e.g., a local field: We compute its negative $K$-theory and show its $K$-regularity. The complex case reproves the results of Rosenberg, Friedlander--Walker, and Cortiñas--Thom. Our consideration in the real case proves two previously unconfirmed claims made by Rosenberg in 1990. The algebraic nature of our methods enables us to deal with the nonarchimedean and noncommutative cases analogously.

Abstract:Let $k = \mathbb{Q}(\sqrt {-m})$ and $p > 2$ split in $k$. We prove new properties of the $\mathbb{Z}_p$-extensions $K/k$, distinct from the cyclotomic; we do not assume $K/k$ totally ramified, nor the triviality of the $p$-class group of $k$. These properties are governed by the $p$-valuation, $\delta_p(k)$, of a suitable Fermat quotient of the fundamental $p$-unit $x$ of $k$, which also yields the order of the logarithmic class group (2.2, App. A), and generalize the Gold-Sands criterion (5.1, 5.3, 5.4, 5.5). These results use the second element $(\mathcal{H}_{K_n}/\mathcal{H}_{K_n}^{G_n})^{G_n}$ of the filtration of the $p$-class groups in $K=\cup_n K_n$, without any argument of Iwasawa's theory, and provide new perspectives. We compute, Sec. 7, the first layer $K_1$, using the Log-function, then give a short proof of a result of Kundu-Washington (5.6), and show (7.4, 7.6) that capitulation is possible in $K$, suggesting Conjecture 5.8. Calculations are gathered App. B.

Abstract:For an additive Waldhausen category linear over a ring $k$, the corresponding $K$-theory spectrum is a module spectrum over the $K$-theory spectrum of $k$. Thus if $k$ is a finite field of characteristic $p$, then after localization at $p$, we obtain an Eilenberg-Maclane spectrum -- in other words, a chain complex. We propose an elementary and direct construction of this chain complex that behaves well in families and uses only method of homological algebra (in particular, the notions of a ring spectrum and a module spectrum are not used).

Abstract:Motivated by the Farrell-Jones Conjecture for group rings, we formulate the $\mathcal{C}$op-Farrell-Jones Conjecture for the K-theory of Hecke algebras of td-groups. We prove this conjecture for (closed subgroups of) reductive p-adic groups G. In particular, the projective class group $K_0(\mathcal{H}(G))$ for a (closed subgroup) of a reductive p-adic group G can be computed as a colimit of projective class groups $K_0(\mathcal{H}(U))$ where U varies over the compact open subgroups of G. This implies that all finitely generated smooth complex representations of a reductive p-adic G admit finite projective resolutions by compactly induced representations. For SL$_n(F)$ we translate the colimit formula for $K_0(\mathcal{H}(G))$ to a more concrete cokernel description in terms of stabilizers for the action on the Bruhat-Tits building. For negative K-theory we obtain vanishing results, while we identify the higher K-groups $K_n(\mathcal{H}(G))$ with the value of G-homology theory on the extended Bruhat-Tits building. Our considerations apply to general Hecke algebras of the form $\mathcal{H}(G;R,\rho,\omega)$, where we allow a central character $\omega$ and a twist by an action $\rho$ of G on R. For the $\mathcal{C}$op-Farrell-Jones Conjecture we need to assume $\mathbb{Q} \subseteq R$ and a regularity assumption. As a key intermediate step we introduce the $\mathcal{C}vcy-Farrell-Jones conjecture. For the latter no regularity assumptions on R are needed.

Abstract:We establish formulas for computation of the higher algebraic $K$-groups of the endomorphism rings of objects linked by a morphism in an additive category. Let ${\mathcal C}$ be an additive category, and let $Y\ra X$ be a covariant morphism of objects in ${\mathcal C}$. Then $K_n\big(_{\mathcal C}(X\oplus Y)\big)\simeq K_n\big(_{{\mathcal C},Y}(X)\big)\oplus K_n\big(_{\mathcal C}(Y)\big)$ for all $1\le n\in \mathbb{N}$, where $_{{\mathcal C},Y}(X)$ is the quotient ring of the endomorphism ring $_{\mathcal C}(X)$ of $X$ modulo the ideal generated by all those endomorphisms of $X$ which factorize through $Y$. Moreover, let $R$ be a ring with identity, and let $e$ be an idempotent element in $R$. If $J:=ReR$ is homological and $_RJ$ has a finite projective resolution by finitely generated projective $R$-modules, then $K_n(R)\simeq K_n(R/J)\oplus K_n(eRe)$ for all $n\in \mathbb{N}$. This reduces calculations of the higher algebraic $K$-groups of $R$ to those of the quotient ring $R/J$ and the corner ring $eRe$, and can be applied to a large variety of rings: Standardly stratified rings, hereditary orders, affine cellular algebras and extended affine Hecke algebras of type $\tilde{A}$.

Abstract:In his thesis, N. Durov develops a theory of algebraic geometry in which schemes are locally determined by commutative algebraic monads. In this setting, one is able to construct the Arakelov geometric compactification of the spectrum of the ring of integers in a purely algebraic fashion. This object arises as the limit of a certain projective system of generalized schemes. We study the constituents of this projective system, and compute their algebraic K-theory.

Abstract:We compute the algebraic K-theory modulo p and v_1 of the S-algebra ell/p = k(1), using topological cyclic homology. We use this to compute the homotopy cofiber of a transfer map K(L/p) --> K(L_p), which we interpret as the algebraic K-theory of the "fraction field" of the p-complete Adams summand of topological K-theory. The results suggest that there is an arithmetic duality theorem for this fraction field, much like Tate--Poitou duality for p-adic fields.

Abstract:We compute the $RO(G)$-graded equivariant algebraic $K$-groups of a finite field with an action by its Galois group $G$. Specifically, we show these $K$-groups split as the sum of an explicitly computable term and the well-studied $RO(G)$-graded coefficient groups of the equivariant Eilenberg--MacLane spectrum $H\underline{\mathbb Z}$. Our comparison between the equivariant $K$-theory spectrum and $H\underline{\mathbb Z}$ further shows they share the same Tate spectra and geometric fixed point spectra. In the case where $G$ has prime order, we provide an explicit presentation of the equivariant $K$-groups.

Abstract:We compute the integral Grothendieck rings of the moduli stacks, $\mathcal{M}_2$, $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_2$ of smooth and stable curves of genus two respectively. We compute $K_0(\mathcal{M}_2)$ by using the presentation of $\mathcal{M}_2$ as a global quotient stack given by Vistoli. To compute the Grothendieck ring $K_0(\overline{\mathcal{M}}_2)$ we decompose $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_2$ as $\Delta_1$ and its complement $\overline{\mathcal{M}}_2 \setminus \Delta_1$ and use their presentations as quotient stacks given by Larson to compute their Grothendieck rings. We show that they are torsion-free and this, together with the Riemann-Roch isomorphism allows to ultimately give a presentation for the integral Grothendieck ring $K_0(\overline{\mathcal{M}}_2)$.

Abstract:We construct a K-theory version of Bhatt-Morrow-Scholze's Breuil-Kisin cohomology theory for $\sO_K$-linear idempotent-complete, small smooth proper stable infinity-categories, where $K$ is a discretely valued extension of $\Q_p$ with perfect residue field. As a corollary, under the assumption that $K(1)$-local K theory satisfies the Künneth formula for $\sO_K$-linear idempotent-complete, small smooth proper stable $\infty$-categories, we prove a comparison theorem between $K(1)$-local K theory of the generic fiber and topological cyclic periodic homology theory of the special fiber with $\Bcry$-coefficients, and $p$-adic Galois representations of $K(1)$-local K theory for $\sO_K$-linear idempotent-complete, small smooth proper stable $\infty$-categories are semi-stable. Abstract:We consider the KZ connection associated with a family of hyperelliptic curves of genus $g$ over the ring of $p$-adic integers $\mathbb{Z}_p$. Then the dual connection is the Gauss-Manin connection of that family. We observe that the Gauss-Manin connection has an ordinary $F$-crystal structure and its unit root subcrystal is of rank $g$. We prove that all local flat sections of the KZ connection annihilate the unite root subcrystal, and the space of all local flat sections of the KZ connection is a free $\mathbb{Z}_p$-module of rank $g$. We also consider the reduction modulo $p^s$ of the unit root subcrystal for any $s\geq 1$. We prove that its annihilator is generated by the so-called $p^s$-hypergeometric flat sections of the KZ connection. In particular, that means that the reduction modulo $p^s$ of an arbitrary local flat section of the KZ connection over $\mathbb{Z}_p$ is a linear combination of the $p^s$-hypergeometric flat sections.
