Abstract:Witten's gauged linear sigma model [Wi1] is one of the universal frameworks or structures that lie behind stringy dualities. Its A-twisted moduli space at genus 0 case has been used in the Mirror Principle [L-L-Y] that relates Gromov-Witten invariants and mirror symmetry computations. In this paper the A-twisted moduli stack for higher genus curves is defined and systematically studied. It is proved that such a moduli stack is an Artin stack. For genus 0, it has the A-twisted moduli space of [M-P] as the coarse moduli space. The detailed proof of the regularity of the collapsing morphism by Jun Li in [L-L-Y: I and II] can be viewed as a natural morphism from the moduli stack of genus 0 stable maps to the A-twisted moduli stack at genus 0. Due to the technical demand of stacks to physicists and the conceptual demand of supersymmetry to mathematicians, a brief introduction of each topic that is most relevant to the main contents of this paper is given in the beginning and the appendix respectively. Themes for further study are listed in the end.
Twisted local wild mapping class groups: configuration spaces, fission trees and complex braids

Abstract:Following the completion of the algebraic construction of the Poisson wild character varieties (B.--Yamakawa, 2015) one can consider their natural deformations, generalising both the mapping class group actions on the usual (tame) character varieties, and the G-braid groups already known to occur in the wild/irregular setting. Here we study these wild mapping class groups in the case of arbitrary formal structure in type A. As we will recall, this story is most naturally phrased in terms of admissible deformations of wild Riemann surfaces. The main results are: 1) the construction of configuration spaces containing all possible local deformations, 2) the definition of a combinatorial object, the ``fission forest'', of any wild Riemann surface and a proof that it gives a sharp parameterisation of all the admissible deformation classes. As an application of 1), by considering basic examples, we show that the braid groups of all the complex reflection groups known as the generalised symmetric groups appear as wild mapping class groups. As an application of 2), we compute the dimensions of all the (global) moduli spaces of type A wild Riemann surfaces (in fixed admissible deformation classes), a generalisation of the famous ``Riemann's count'' of the dimensions of the moduli spaces of compact Riemann surfaces.

Abstract:We study isomorphism classes of untwisted irregular singular meromorphic connections on principal bundles over (wild) Riemann surfaces, for any complex reductive structure group $G$ and polar divisor. In particular we compute the stabilisers of suitable marked points on their principal part orbits, showing the stabilisers are connected and controlled by the corresponding filtration of (Levi factors of) nested parabolic subgroups of $G$; this uniquely determines the orbits as complex homogeneous manifolds for groups of jets of principal $G$-bundle automorphisms. Moreover, when the residue is semisimple we stratify the space of orbits by the stabilisers, relating this to local wild mapping class groups and generalising the Levi stratification of a Cartan subalgebra $\mathfrak{t} \subseteq \mathfrak{g} = \operatorname{Lie}(G)$: the dense stratum corresponds to the generic setting of irregular isomonodromic deformations à la Jimbo-Miwa-Ueno.

Abstract:We will define and study some generalisations of pure $\mathfrak{g}$-braid groups that occur in the theory of connections on curves, for any complex reductive Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. They make up local pieces of the wild mapping class groups, which are fundamental groups of (universal) deformations of wild Riemann surfaces, underlying the braiding of Stokes data and generalising the usual mapping class groups. We will establish a general product decomposition for the local wild mapping class groups, and in many cases define a fission tree controlling this decomposition. Further in type A we will show one obtains cabled versions of braid groups, related to braid operads.

Abstract:We describe a new approach to the definition of the moduli functor of stable varieties. While there is wide agreement as to what classes of varieties should appear, the notion of a family of stable surfaces is quite subtle, as key numerical invariants may fail to be constant in flat families. Our approach is to add natural stack structure to stable varieties. For example, given a canonical model we take the global-quotient stack structure arising from its realization as Proj of the canonical ring. Deformations of the stack structure preserve key numerical invariants of the stable variety, including the top self-intersection of the canonical divisor. This approach yields a transparent construction of the moduli stack of stable varieties as a global quotient of a suitable Hilbert scheme of weighted projective stacks.

Abstract:We generalize the construction of a moduli space of semistable pairs parametrizing isomorphism classes of morphisms from a fixed coherent sheaf to any sheaf with fixed Hilbert polynomial under a notion of stability to the case of projective Deligne-Mumford stacks. We study the deformation and obstruction theories of stable pairs, and then prove the existence of virtual fundamental classes for some cases of dimension two and three. This leads to a definition of Pandharipande-Thomas invariants on three-dimensional smooth projective Deligne-Mumford stacks.

Abstract:We develop a new method for analyzing moduli problems related to the stack of pure coherent sheaves on a polarized family of projective schemes. It is an infinite-dimensional analogue of geometric invariant theory. We apply this to two familiar moduli problems: the stack of $\Lambda$-modules and the stack of pairs. In both examples, we construct a $\Theta$-stratification of the stack, defined in terms of a polynomial numerical invariant, and we construct good moduli spaces for the open substacks of semistable points. One of the essential ingredients is the construction of higher dimensional analogues of the affine Grassmannian for the moduli problems considered.

Abstract:We give an explicit quotient construction of the supermoduli space $\mathfrak{M}_{0, n_R}$ of genus zero super Riemann surfaces with $n_R \ge 4$ Ramond punctures and prove it is a Deligne-Mumford superstack. We also make an explicit quotient construction of the moduli space of genus zero supercurves without a SUSY structure and thereby prove it is an algebraic superstack.

Abstract:Moduli of vector bundles on stacky curves behave similarly to moduli of vector bundles on curves, except there are additional numerical invariants giving many different notions of stability. We apply the existence criterion for good moduli spaces of stacks to show that the moduli stack of semistable vector bundles on a stacky curve has a proper good moduli space. We moduli-theoretically prove that a natural determinantal line bundle on this moduli space is ample, thus proving this moduli space is projective. Our methods give effective bounds for when a power of this line bundle is basepoint-free. As a special case, we obtain new and effective constructions of moduli spaces of parabolic bundles.

Abstract:We use tilting theory and birational geometry to study moduli spaces of quiver representations. From certain ``representable" functor, we construct a birational transformation from the moduli space of representations of one quiver to another new quiver with one vertex less. The dimension vector and the stability for the new moduli are determined functorially. We introduce several relative notions of stability to study such a birational transformation. Some of its structure is understood but a more round picture may lead to an algorithm similar to the minimal model program. Moreover, we compare the induced ample divisors for the two moduli. We illustrate this theory by some surface examples.

Abstract:Given a vector bundle $F$ on a variety $X$ and $W\subset H^0(F)$ such that the evaluation map $W\otimes \mathcal{O}_X\to F$ is surjective, its kernel $S_{F,W}$ is called generalized syzygy bundle. Under mild assumptions, we construct a moduli space $\mathcal{G}^0_U$ of simple generalized syzygy bundles, and show that the natural morphism $\alpha$ to the moduli of simple sheaves is a locally closed embedding. If moreover $H^1(X,\mathcal{O}_X)=0$, we find an explicit open subspace $\mathcal{G}^0_V$ of $\mathcal{G}^0_U$ where the restriction of $\alpha$ is an open embedding. In particular, if $\dim X\ge 3$ and $H^1(\mathcal{O}_X)=0$, starting from an ample line bundle (or a simple rigid vector bundle) on $X$ we construct recursively open subspaces of moduli spaces of simple sheaves on $X$ that are smooth, rational, quasiprojective varieties.

Abstract:We study the moduli stacks of slope-semistable torsion-free coherent sheaves that admit reflexive, respectively locally free, Seshadri graduations on a smooth projective variety. We show that they are open in the stack of coherent sheaves and that they admit good moduli spaces when the field characteristic is zero. In addition, in the locally free case we prove that the resulting moduli space is a quasi-projective scheme.

Abstract:It is shown that certain transformations on quiver-dimension vector pairs induce isomorphisms on the corresponding moduli spaces of quiver representations and map a stable dimension vector to a stable dimension vector. This result combined with a combinatorial analysis of dimension vectors in the fundamental set of a wild quiver is applied to prove that in each dimension there are only finitely many projective algebraic varieties occurring as a moduli space of representations of a quiver with a dimension vector that satisfies some simple constraints.
