Abstract:We develop a new method for analyzing moduli problems related to the stack of pure coherent sheaves on a polarized family of projective schemes. It is an infinite-dimensional analogue of geometric invariant theory. We apply this to two familiar moduli problems: the stack of $\Lambda$-modules and the stack of pairs. In both examples, we construct a $\Theta$-stratification of the stack, defined in terms of a polynomial numerical invariant, and we construct good moduli spaces for the open substacks of semistable points. One of the essential ingredients is the construction of higher dimensional analogues of the affine Grassmannian for the moduli problems considered.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
This paper aims to solve several core problems related to the moduli spaces of pure coherent sheaves on projective schemes. Specifically, the paper introduces a new method to analyze the moduli problems related to the moduli stack of pure coherent sheaves, which can be regarded as an analogue of Geometric Invariant Theory (GIT) in the infinite - dimensional case. Through this method, the authors are able to construct the Θ - stratification of two familiar moduli problems and construct good moduli spaces for the semi - stable points in these stratifications. These two moduli problems are: 1. **Moduli stack of Λ - modules**: Here Λ is a sheaf of differential operator rings. 2. **Moduli stack of pairs**: Here we consider a pure coherent sheaf F and its homomorphism from a fixed coherent sheaf A to F. ### Main contributions of the paper - **Development of a new method**: The paper proposes a new method - infinite - dimensional GIT - for analyzing the moduli problems related to the moduli stack of pure coherent sheaves. This method is not only applicable to the above two moduli problems but can also be extended to other contexts. - **Construction of Θ - stratification**: For each moduli problem, the author constructs a Θ - stratification defined by polynomial numerical invariants. This stratification helps to understand the structure of the moduli stack and provides good moduli spaces for semi - stable points. - **Construction of good moduli spaces**: When the base scheme S is defined over the field of rational numbers Q, the sub - stack of semi - stable points admits a proper good moduli space over S. - **Enhancement of generality**: The level - universality of the moduli spaces constructed in the paper is new, although there have been some studies in more specific settings. In particular, when the stability parameter δ is large enough, the results cover some previous special cases. ### Technological innovation - **Guarantee of strict monotonicity**: The main technical insight of the paper is to ensure strict monotonicity by choosing a moduli problem that conforms to a specific geometric template. This simplifies the problem of constructing the moduli space to verifying the openness and boundedness of semi - stable points. - **High - dimensional affine Grassmannian**: The author constructs the "high - dimensional" affine Grassmannian for each moduli problem and applies infinite - dimensional GIT to analyze the action of the group of rational maps on these manifolds. ### Comparison with traditional methods - **Avoidance of auxiliary choices**: The infinite - dimensional GIT method avoids the auxiliary choices in the traditional GIT method, thus simplifying the proof process. - **Relationships between related moduli problems**: This method also reveals the relationships between different moduli problems, for example, the relationship between the moduli stack of pairs and the moduli stack of Λ - modules. In conclusion, by introducing infinite - dimensional GIT, this paper provides a new and more general method for dealing with the moduli problems related to the moduli spaces of pure coherent sheaves, laying the foundation for further research in this field.
