Abstract:Let $A$ be a representation-finite self-injective algebra over an algebraically closed field $k$. We give a new characterization for an orthogonal system in the stable module category $A$-$\stmod$ to be a simple-minded system. As a by-product, we show that every Nakayama-stable orthogonal system in $A$-$\stmod$ extends to a simple-minded system.

A note on $S$-coherent rings

Abstract:In this note, we show that a ring $R$ is $S$-coherent if and only if every finitely presented $R$-module is $S$-coherent, providing a positive answer to a question proposed in [D. Bennis, M. El Hajoui, {\it On $S$-coherence}, J. Korean Math. Soc. \textbf{55} (2018), no.6, 1499-1512]. Besides, we show that $c$-$S$-coherent rings are $S$-coherent, and give an example to show the converse is not true in general.

Abstract:Simple-minded systems in stable module categories are defined by orthogonality and generating properties so that the images of the simple modules under a stable equivalence form such a system. Simple-minded systems are shown to be invariant under stable equivalences; thus the set of all simple-minded systems is an invariant of a stable module category. The simple-minded systems of several classes of algebras are described and connections to the Auslander-Reiten conjecture are pointed out.

Abstract:We prove that an abelian category equipped with an ample sequence of objects is equivalent to the quotient of the category of coherent modules over the corresponding algebra by the subcategory of finite-dimensional modules. In the Noetherian case a similar result was proved by Artin and Zhang.

Abstract:Simple-minded systems of objects in a stable module category are defined by common properties with the set of simple modules, whose images under stable equivalences do form simple-minded systems. Over a representation-finite self-injective algebra, it is shown that all simple-minded systems are images of simple modules under stable equivalences of Morita type, and that all simple-minded systems can be lifted to Nakayama-stable simple-minded collections in the derived category. In particular, all simple-minded systems can be obtained algorithmically using mutations.

Abstract:Recently, we obtained in [7] a new characterization for an orthogonal system to be a simple-minded system in the stable module category of any representation-finite self-injective algebra. In this paper, we apply this result to give an explicit construction of simple-minded systems over self-injective Nakayama algebras.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. In this paper, we first introduce and study the notions of $s$-pure exact sequences and $s$-absolutely pure modules which extend the classical notions of pure exact sequences and absolutely pure modules. And then, we give some new characterizations of $S$-coherent rings in terms of $s$-absolutely pure modules.

Abstract:In the present paper, we show that the Ringel–Hall algebra of a finitary algebra over a finite field satisfies fundamental relations in a more general setting. By twisting the multiplication, we obtain the quantum Serre relations. Finally, certain relations between Ringel–Hall algebras of an algebra and its factor algebras are discussed.

Abstract:Let R be a ring and M a fixed right R-module. A new characterization of M-flatness is given by certain linear equations. For a left R-module F such that the canonical map M circle times(R) F -> Hom(R) (M*, F) is injective, where M* = Hom(R) (M, R), the M-flatness of F is characterized via certain matrix subgroups. An example is given to show that R need not be M-coherent even if every left R-module is M-flat. Moreover, some properties of M-coherent rings are discussed.

Abstract:We show that an arbitrary algebra ${ A}$, (of arbitrary dimension, over an arbitrary base field and any identity is not suppose for the product), is semisimple if and only if it has zero annihilator and admits a semi-division linear basis. We also show that $A$ is simple if and only if it has zero annihilator and admits an $i$-division linear basis.

Abstract:Let R be a ring. Recall that a left R-module M is coherent if every finitely generated submodule of M is finitely presented. R is a left coherent ring if the left R-module R-R is coherent. In this paper, we say that R is left J-coherent if its Jacobson radical J(R) is a coherent left R-module. J-injective and J-flat modules are introduced to investigate J-coherent rings. Necessary and sufficient conditions for R to be left J-coherent are given. It is shown that there are many similarities between coherent and J-coherent rings. J-injective and J-flat dimensions are also studied.

Abstract:In this note, we prove that an affine cellular algebra $A$ is semisimple if and only if the scheme associated to $A$ is reduced and 0-dimensional, and the bilinear forms with respect to all layers of $A$ are isomorphisms. Moreover, if the ground ring is a perfect field, then $A$ is semisimple if and only if it is separable. We also give a sufficient condition for an affine cellular algebra being Jacobson semisimple.

Almost coherent modules and almost coherent sheaves

Abstract:We review the theory of almost coherent modules that was introduced in "Almost Ring Theory" by Gabber and Ramero. Then we globalize it by developing a new theory of almost coherent sheaves on schemes and on a class of "nice" formal schemes. We show that these sheaves satisfy many properties similar to usual coherent sheaves, i.e. the Almost Proper Mapping Theorem, the Formal GAGA, etc. We also construct an almost version of the Grothendieck twisted image functor $f^!$ and verify its properties. Lastly, we study sheaves of $p$-adic nearby cycles on admissible formal models of rigid spaces and show that these sheaves provide examples of almost coherent sheaves. This gives a new proof of the finiteness result for étale cohomology of proper rigid spaces obtained before in the work of Peter Scholze "$p$-adic Hodge Theory For Rigid-Analytic Varieties".
