Abstract:Let R be a ring. Recall that a left R-module M is coherent if every finitely generated submodule of M is finitely presented. R is a left coherent ring if the left R-module R-R is coherent. In this paper, we say that R is left J-coherent if its Jacobson radical J(R) is a coherent left R-module. J-injective and J-flat modules are introduced to investigate J-coherent rings. Necessary and sufficient conditions for R to be left J-coherent are given. It is shown that there are many similarities between coherent and J-coherent rings. J-injective and J-flat dimensions are also studied.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new generalization of coherent rings. Let m be a positive integer and d a positive integer or d = infinity. A ring R is called a left (m, d)-coherent ring in case every m-presented left R-module N with pd(N) <= d is (m + l)-presented. It is shown that there are many similarities between coherent rings and (m, d)-coherent rings. Some applications are also given.

Abstract:A ring R is called left P-coherent in case each principal left ideal of R is finitely presented. A left R-module M (resp. right R-module N) is called D-injective (resp. D-flat) if Ext(1) (G, M) = 0 (resp. Tor(1) (N, G) = 0) for every divisible left R-module G. It is shown that every left R-module over a left P-coherent ring R has a divisible cover; a left R-module M is D-injective if and only if M is the kernel of a divisible precover A -> B with A injective; a finitely presented right R-module L over a left P-coherent ring R is D-flat if and only if L is the cokernel of a torsionfree preenvelope K -> F with F flat. We also study the divisible and torsionfree dimensions of modules and rings. As applications, some new characterizations of volt Neumann regular rings and PP rings are given.

Abstract:Let R be a ring and tau a hereditary torsion theory for the category of all left R-modules. A right R-module M is called tau-flat if Tor(1)( M, R/I) = 0 for any tau-finitely presented left ideal I. A left R-module N is said to be tau-f-injective in case Ext(1)( R/I, N) = 0 for any tau-finitely presented left ideal I. R is called a left tau-coherent ring in case every tau-finitely presented left ideal is finitely presented. tau-coherent rings are characterized in terms of, among others, tau-flat and tau-f-injective modules. Some known results are extended.

Abstract:Let R be a ring. A left R-moduleM (resp. right R-module N) is called singly injective (resp. singly flat) if Ext(1)(F/C, M) = 0 (resp. Tor(1)(N, F/C) = 0) for any cyclic submodule C of any finitely generated free left R-module F. It is shownthat R is a left pseudo-coherentring if and only if any direct product of singly flat right R-modules is singly flat if and only if any direct limit of singly injective left R-modules is singly injective if and only if every right R-module has a singly flat preenvelope; and every left R-module over a left pseudo-coherent ring R has a singly injective cover. Some applications are also given.
A note on $S$-coherent rings

Abstract:In this note, we show that a ring $R$ is $S$-coherent if and only if every finitely presented $R$-module is $S$-coherent, providing a positive answer to a question proposed in [D. Bennis, M. El Hajoui, {\it On $S$-coherence}, J. Korean Math. Soc. \textbf{55} (2018), no.6, 1499-1512]. Besides, we show that $c$-$S$-coherent rings are $S$-coherent, and give an example to show the converse is not true in general.

Almost coherent modules and almost coherent sheaves

Abstract:We review the theory of almost coherent modules that was introduced in "Almost Ring Theory" by Gabber and Ramero. Then we globalize it by developing a new theory of almost coherent sheaves on schemes and on a class of "nice" formal schemes. We show that these sheaves satisfy many properties similar to usual coherent sheaves, i.e. the Almost Proper Mapping Theorem, the Formal GAGA, etc. We also construct an almost version of the Grothendieck twisted image functor $f^!$ and verify its properties. Lastly, we study sheaves of $p$-adic nearby cycles on admissible formal models of rigid spaces and show that these sheaves provide examples of almost coherent sheaves. This gives a new proof of the finiteness result for étale cohomology of proper rigid spaces obtained before in the work of Peter Scholze "$p$-adic Hodge Theory For Rigid-Analytic Varieties".

Abstract:A ring is called right SAP if every right simple module over it is absolutely pure. In this paper we prove that every right SAP ring is semiprimitive and that the homomorphic image and the center of an right SAP ring are also right SAP. We also show that the sum of all absolutely pure minimal submodules of any module is a fully invariant submodule. As an application, we give a decomposition of some selfinjective rings.

Abstract:Solid abelian groups, as introduced by Dustin Clausen and Peter Scholze, form a subcategory of all condensed abelian groups satisfying some ''completeness'' conditions and having favourable categorical properties. Given a profinite ring $R$, there is an associated condensed ring $\underline{R}$ which is solid. We show that the natural embedding of profinite $R$-modules into solid $\underline{R}$-modules preserves $\mathrm{Ext}$ and tensor products, as well as the fact that profinite rings are analytic.

Abstract:We give a Orlik-Solomon type presentation for the cohomology ring of arrangements in a non-compact abelian Lie group. The new insight consists in comparing arrangements in different abelian groups. Our work is based on the Varchenko-Gelfand ring for real hyperplane arrangements and from that we deduce the cohomology rings of all other abelian arrangements. As by-product, we obtain a new proof of the Orlik-Solomon relations and De Concini-Procesi ones.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity and $S$ a multiplicative subset of $R$. In this paper, we introduce and study the notions of $S$-pure $S$-exact sequences and $S$-absolutely pure modules which extend the classical notions of pure exact sequences and absolutely pure modules. And then we characterize $S$-von Neumann regular rings and uniformly $S$-Noetherian rings using $S$-absolutely pure modules.

On split quasi-hereditary covers and Ringel duality

Abstract:In this paper, we develop two new homological invariants called relative dominant dimension with respect to a module and relative codominant dimension with respect to a module. These are used to establish precise connections between Ringel duality, split quasi-hereditary covers and double centraliser properties. These homological invariants are studied over Noetherian algebras which are finitely generated and projective as a module over the ground ring and they are shown to behave nicely under change of rings techniques. It turns out that relative codominant dimension with respect to a summand of a characteristic tilting module is a useful tool to construct quasi-hereditary covers of Noetherian algebras and measure their quality. In particular, this homological invariant is used to construct split quasi-hereditary covers of quotients of Iwahori-Hecke algebras using Ringel duality of $q$-Schur algebras. Combining techniques of cover theory with relative dominant dimension theory we obtain a new proof for Ringel self-duality of the blocks of the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand category $\mathcal{O}$.

Abstract:In this article, we study the weak global dimension of coherent rings in terms of the left FP-injective resolutions of modules. Let R be a left coherent ring and F I the class of all FP-injective left R-modules. It is shown that wD(R) <= n (n >= 1) if and only if every nth F I-syzygy of a left R-module is FP-injective; and wD(R) <= n (n >= 2) if and only if every (n - 2)th F I-syzygy in a minimal F I-resolution of a left R-module has an FP-injective cover with the unique mapping property. Some results for the weak global dimension of commutative coherent rings are also given.
