Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence of admissible (and strictly convex) smooth solutions to the prescribed $L_p$ quotient type curvature problem with $p>1$. For cases where $p=k-l+1$ and $p> k-l+1$, we obtain an admissible solution without any additional conditions, which is strictly spherically convex under a convexity condition. Under the same convexity condition, we establish the existence of a strictly spherically convex solution for the case $p<k-l+1$, provided that the prescribed function is even, a condition known to be necessary.

What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The problem that this paper attempts to solve is the existence and uniqueness of the prescribed \(L^p\) quotient curvature problem for a given function \(f\). Specifically, the authors explore whether there exists a closed and strictly convex hypersurface \(\Sigma\) in \(\mathbb{R}^{n + 1}\) such that its principal curvatures \(\kappa(X)=(\kappa_1,\ldots,\kappa_n)\) and the outer normal vector \(\nu(X)\) satisfy the following equation: \[ \frac{H_k(\kappa(X))}{H_l(\kappa(X))}=f(\nu(X))\langle X,\nu(X)\rangle^{1 - p} \] where \(p>1\), \(0\leq l<k\leq n\), and \(H_k(\kappa(X))\) is the normalized \(k\)-th order mean curvature. ### Main research content 1. **Existence**: For \(p\) in different parameter ranges, the authors prove the existence of strictly convex hypersurfaces that satisfy the above conditions. - When \(p = k - l+ 1\) or \(p>k - l + 1\), acceptable solutions can be obtained without additional conditions, and these solutions are strictly spherically convex under the convexity condition. - For \(p<k - l + 1\), the existence of strictly spherically convex solutions is also established under the condition that the given function \(f\) is an even function. 2. **Uniqueness**: By means of the maximum principle and other methods, the uniqueness of solutions in some cases is proved. 3. **Convexity condition**: Using Bian - Guan's constant - rank theorem, sufficient conditions to ensure that the solution is strictly spherically convex are given, that is, \(f\) satisfies: \[ \nabla^2\left(f^{\frac{1}{p + k - l- 1}}\right)+f^{\frac{1}{p + k - l- 1}}\sigma\geq0 \] ### Applications and generalizations The authors also explore the \(L^p\) Minkowski problem and its related problems (such as the \(L^p\) Christoffel - Minkowski problem), and generalize their results to more general cases. In addition, they also solve the case of \(1<p<k + 1 - l\), especially when \(f\) is an even function, and obtain the existence of strictly spherically convex solutions. ### Conclusion The main contribution of the paper lies in expanding the existing results, providing new methods and techniques to deal with the \(L^p\) quotient curvature problem, and proving the existence and uniqueness of solutions in a wider range of parameters. This provides an important theoretical basis and technical means for subsequent research.
