Abstract:We prove the $C^{1,1}$-regularity for stationary $C^{1,\alpha}$ ($\alpha\in(0,1)$) solutions to the multiple membrane problem. This regularity estimate was essentially used in our recent work on Yau's four minimal spheres conjecture.

Abstract:We investigate the regularity of the free boundaries in the 3 elastic membranes problem. We show that the two free boundaries corresponding to the coincidence regions between consecutive membranes are $C^{1,\log}$-hypersurfaces near a regular intersection point. We also study two types of singular intersections. The first type of singular points are locally covered by a $C^{1,\alpha}$-hypersurface. The second type of singular points stratify and each stratum is locally covered by a $C^1$-manifold.

Abstract:Let $(M,g)$ be a smooth connected Riemannian manifold. We show an improvement of flatness theorem for hypersurfaces of $M$ of bounded nonlocal mean curvature in the viscosity sense. It implies local $ C^{1,\alpha}$ regularity of these hypersurfaces provided that they are sufficiently flat. It extends a result of Caffarelli, Roquejoffre and Savin in the Euclidean setting to the case of arbitrary Riemannian manifolds.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain a series of regularity results for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear elliptic equations with oblique derivative boundary conditions. In particular, we derive the pointwise C α, C 1,α and C 2,α regularity. As byproducts, we also prove the A–B–P maximum principle, Harnack inequality, uniqueness and solvability of the equations.

Abstract:The global Cn+2,α-regularity for the graph of solutions to a singular Monge–Ampère equation was established in [7]. This equation arises in the study of hyperbolic affine spheres and is singular at the boundary. A compatibility condition for higher regularity was found in [7]. In this paper, we verify the compatibility condition and obtain the global C∞-regularity in the even dimensional case.

Abstract:Smooth solutions to the axially symmetric Navier-Stokes equations obey the following maximum principle: parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, t)parallel to(L infinity) <= parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, 0)parallel to(L infinity). We first prove the global regularity of solutions if parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, 0)parallel to(L infinity) or parallel to ru(theta) (r, z, t)parallel to(L infinity(r <= r0)) is small compared with certain dimensionless quantity of the initial data. This result improves the one in Zhen Lei and Qi S. Zhang [10]. As a corollary, we also prove the global regularity under the assumption that} vertical bar ru(theta)(r,z,t)vertical bar <= vertical bar ln r vertical bar(-3/2), for all 0 < r <= delta(0) is an element of (0,1/2). Abstract:In this paper, we investigate some priori estimates to provide the critical regularity criteria for incompressible Navier-Stokes equations on and super critical surface quasi-geostrophic equations on . Concerning the Navier-Stokes equations, we demonstrate that a Leray-Hopf solution is regular if , or in Lorentz space , with . Additionally, an alternative regularity condition is expressed as ( ), contingent upon a smallness assumption on the norm . For the surface quasi-geostrophic equations, we derive that a Leray-Hopf weak solution is smooth for any small enough. Similar to the case of Navier-Stokes equations, we derive regularity criteria in more refined spaces, i.e. Lorentz spaces and addition of two critical spaces , with smallness assumption on .

Abstract:We provide a sharp $C^{1,\alpha}$ estimate up to the boundary for a viscosity solution of a degenerate fully nonlinear elliptic equation with the oblique boundary condition on a $C^1$ domain. To this end, we first obtain a uniform boundary H{ö}lder estimate with the oblique boundary condition in an "almost $C^1$-flat" domain for the equations which is uniformly elliptic only where the gradient is far from some point, and then we establish a desired $C^{1,\alpha}$ regularity based on perturbation and compactness arguments.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity for viscosity solutions of locally uniformly elliptic equations and obtain a series of interior pointwise $C^{k,\alpha}$ ($k\geq 1$, $0<\alpha<1$) regularity with smallness assumptions on the solution and the right-hand term. As applications, we obtain various interior pointwise regularity for several classical elliptic equations, i.e., the prescribed mean curvature equation, the Monge-Ampère equation, the $k$-Hessian equations, the $k$-Hessian quotient equations and the Lagrangian mean curvature equation. Moreover, the smallness assumptions are necessary in most cases (Remark 2.6, Remark 3.5, Remark 4.7, Remark 5.4 and Remark 6.5).

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the Cauchy problem for the relativistic membrane equation (RME) embedded in $\mathbb R^{1+(1+n)}$ with $n=2,3$. We show that the RME with a class of large (in energy norm) initial data admits a global, smooth solution. The initial data are given by the short pulse type, which is introduced by Christodoulou in his work on the formation of black holes [10]. Due to the quasilinear feature of RME, we construct two multipliers adapted to the geometry of membrane and present an efficient way for proving the global existence of smooth solution to the geometric wave equation with double null structure. We also derive the asymptotic geometry of the future null infinity and find out a nonlinear (expanding) effect at infinity.

Lee, On the regularity of axisymmetric solutions of the Navier–Stokes equations, Math. Z. 239 (2002) 645–671] proved the regularity of weak solutions under the condition wθ∈Lq(0,T;Lr), with 32<r<∞, 2q+3r⩽2. We deal with the marginal case r=∞ which they excluded. It is proved that u becomes a regular solution if wθ∈L1(0,T;B˙∞,∞0).

Abstract:In this note we investigate interior regularity criteria for suitable weak solutions to the 3D Naiver-Stokes equations, and obtain the solutions are regular in the interior if the $L^p_tL_x^q(Q_1)$ norm of the velocity is sufficiently small, where $1\leq \frac{2}{p}+\frac{3}{q}<2$ and $2\leq p\leq \infty$. It improves the recent result of $p,q>2 $ by Kwon \cite{Kwon} (J. Differential Equations 357 (2023), 1--31.), and also generalizes Chae-Wolf's $L_t^\infty L_x^{\frac32+}$ criterion \cite{CW2017} (Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 225 (2017), no. 1, 549--572.).

Abstract:We prove a logarithmic improvement of the Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg partial regularity theorem for the Navier-Stokes equations. The key idea is to find a quantitative counterpart for the absolute continuity of the dissipation energy using a pigeonholing argument. Based on the same method, for any suitable weak solution, we show the existence of intervals of regularity in one spatial direction with length depending exponentially on the natural local energies. Then, we give two applications of the latter result in the axially symmetric case. The first one is a local regularity criterion for suitable weak solutions with small swirl. The second one is a slightly improved one-point CKN criterion which implies all known (slightly supercritical) Type I regularity results in the literature.
