Abstract:In this paper, we prove the abundance conjecture for threefolds over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p > 3$ in the case of numerical dimension equals to $2$. More precisely, we prove that if $(X,B)$ be a projective lc threefold pair over $k$ such that $K_{X}+B$ is nef and $\nu(K_{X}+B)=2$, then $K_{X}+B$ is semiample.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the non-vanishing and some special cases of the abundance for log canonical threefold pairs over an algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p > 3$. More precisely, we prove that if $(X,B)$ be a projective log canonical threefold pair over $k$ and $K_{X}+B$ is pseudo-effective, then $\kappa(K_{X}+B)\geq 0$, and if $K_{X}+B$ is nef and $\kappa(K_{X}+B)\geq 1$, then $K_{X}+B$ is semi-ample. As applications, we show that the log canonical rings of projective log canonical threefold pairs over $k$ are finitely generated and the abundance holds when the nef dimension $n(K_{X}+B)\leq 2$ or when the Albanese map $a_{X}:X\to \mathrm{Alb}(X)$ is non-trivial. Moreover, we prove that the abundance for klt threefold pairs over $k$ implies the abundance for log canonical threefold pairs over $k$.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the nonvanishing and some special cases of the abundance for log canonical threefold pairs over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic . Abstract:In this paper, we solve the abundance conjecture for minimal projective klt varieties $X$ satisfying Miyaoka's equality $3c_2(X) = c_{1}(X)^{2}$. Specifically, we prove that the canonical divisor $K_{X}$ is semi-ample and the Kodaira dimension $\kappa(K_{X})$ is either $0$, $1$, or $2$. Moreover, according to the Kodaira dimension, we reveal the structure of the Iitaka fibration of $X$ up to quasi-étale covers. Additionally, we show similar results for projective klt varieties with nef anti-canonical divisor.

Abstract:In this article we show that if $(X, \Delta)$ is a log canonical compact Kähler threefold pair such that $K_X+\Delta$ is nef and the numerical dimension $\nu(X, K_X+\Delta)=2$, then $K_X+\Delta$ is semi-ample. This result combined with our previous work in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2201.01202" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.01202">arXiv:2201.01202</a> shows that the log abundance holds for log canonical compact Kähler threefold pairs.

Abstract:A conjecture, known as the Shokurov-Kollár connectedness principle, predicts the following. Let $(X,B)$ be a pair, and let $f \colon X \rightarrow S$ be a contraction with $-(K_X + B)$ nef over $S$; then, for any point $s \in S$, the intersection $f^{-1} (s) \cap \mathrm{Nklt}(X,B)$ has at most two connected components, where $\mathrm{Nklt}(X,B)$ denotes the non-klt locus of $(X,B)$. This conjecture has been extensively studied in characteristic zero, and it has been recently settled in that context. In this work, we consider this conjecture in the setup of positive characteristic algebraic geometry. We prove this conjecture holds for threefolds in characteristic $p> 5$, and, under the same assumptions, we characterize the cases in which $\mathrm{Nklt}(X,B)$ fails to be connected.

Abstract:In this paper, we will prove subadditivity of Kodaira dimensions for a fibration with possibly singular geometric generic fiber, under certain nefness and relative semi-ampleness conditions. As an application, for a fibration $f: X \to Y$ of a smooth projective threefold over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>5$, under the assumption that $Y$ is of general type and non-uniruled, we prove subadditivity of Kodaira dimensions when general fibers are smooth or when $K_{X/Y}$ is relatively big over $Y$.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a partial affirmative answer to the BAB conjecture for $3$-folds in characteristic $p>5$. Specifically, we prove that a set $\mathcal{D}$ of weak Fano $3$-folds over an uncountable algebraically closed field is bounded, if each element $X \in \mathcal{D}$ satisfies certain conditions regarding the Gorenstein index, a complement and Kodaira type vanishing. In the course of the proof, we also study a uniform lower bound for Seshadri constants of nef and big invertible sheaves on projective $3$-folds.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a smooth Fano threefold over an algebraically closed field of positive characteristic. Assume that $|-K_X|$ is very ample and each of the index and the Picard number is equal to one. We prove that $3 \leq g \leq 12$ and $g \neq 11$ for the genus $g$ of $X$. Moreover, we show that there exists no smooth curve on $X$ along which the blowup is Fano.

Abstract:We establish the Noether inequality for projective $3$-folds. More precisely, we prove that the inequality $${\rm vol}(X)\geq \frac{4}{3}p_g(X)-{\frac{10}{3}}$$ holds for all projective $3$-folds $X$ of general type with either $p_g(X)\leq 4$ or $p_g(X)\geq 27$, where $p_g(X)$ is the geometric genus and ${\rm vol}(X)$ is the canonical volume. This inequality is optimal due to known examples found by M. Kobayashi in 1992.

Abstract:Let $V$ be a complex nonsingular projective 3-fold of general type. We prove $P_{12}(V)>0$ and $P_{24}(V)>1$ (which answers an open problem of J. Kollar and S. Mori). We also prove that the canonical volume has an universal lower bound $\text{Vol}(V) \geq 1/2660$ and that the pluri-canonical map $\Phi_m$ is birational onto its image for all $m\geq 77$. As an application of our method, we prove Fletcher's conjecture on weighted hyper-surface 3-folds with terminal quotient singularities. Another featured result is the optimal lower bound $\text{Vol}(V)\geq {1/420}$ among all those 3-folds $V$ with $\chi({\mathcal O}_V)\leq 1$.

Abstract:We conjecture that any perverse sheaf on a compact aspherical Kähler manifold has non-negative Euler characteristic. This extends the Singer-Hopf conjecture in the Kähler setting. We verify the stronger conjecture when the manifold X has non-positive holomorphic bisectional curvature. We also show that the conjecture holds when X is projective and in possession of a faithful semi-simple rigid local system. The first result is proved by expressing the Euler characteristic as an intersection number involving the characteristic cycle, and then using the curvature conditions to deduce non-negativity. For the second result, we have that the local system underlies a complex variation of Hodge structure. We then deduce the desired inequality from the curvature properties of the image of the period map.

Abstract:We establish the Noether inequality for projective 3-folds. More precisely, we prove that the inequality vol(X)≥43p_g(X)-103 holds for all projective 3-folds X of general type with either p_g(X)≤ 4 or p_g(X)≥ 21, where p_g(X) is the geometric genus and vol(X) is the canonical volume. This inequality is optimal due to known examples found by M. Kobayashi in 1992.

Abstract:Let $\overline{\mathrm{Mov}}^k(X)$ be the closure of the cone $\mathrm{Mov}^k(X)$ generated by classes of effective divisors on a projective variety $X$ with stable base locus of codimension at least $k+1$. We propose a generalized version of the Log Nonvanishing Conjecture and of the Log Abundance Conjecture for a klt pair $(X,\Delta)$, that is: if $K_X+\Delta \in \overline{\mathrm{Mov}}^{k}(X)$, then $K_X+\Delta \in \mathrm{Mov}^{k}(X)$. Moreover, we prove that if the Log Minimal Model Program, the Log Nonvanishing, and the Log Abundance hold, then so does our conjecture.

Abstract:Nonsingular projective 3-folds $V$ of general type can be naturally classified into 18 families according to the pluricanonical section index${\it\delta}(V):=\text{min}\{m\mid P_{m}\geqslant 2\}$ since $1\leqslant {\it\delta}(V)\leqslant 18$ due to our previous series (I, II). Based on our further classification to 3-folds with ${\it\delta}(V)\geqslant 13$ and an intensive geometrical investigation to those with ${\it\delta}(V)\leqslant 12$, we prove that $\text{Vol}(V)\geqslant \frac{1}{1680}$ and that the pluricanonical map ${\rm\Phi}_{m}$ is birational for all $m\geqslant 61$, which greatly improves known results. An optimal birationality of ${\rm\Phi}_{m}$ for the case ${\it\delta}(V)=2$ is obtained. As an effective application, we study projective 4-folds of general type with $p_{g}\geqslant 2$ in the last section.
